Superb game and amazing for an 8 bit i really wanted one when they came out. superb computers a bit late into the market to gain the success it should have had .
in my version of ths game it was possible to bump into walls(only on left side), by cages(left side too) and during fights the prince was invisible and killed everyone just by holding shift key :)
WELCOME!! You have found your way to the Youtube page dedicated to people who do not know (or understand) the difference between 'could' and 'could not' (the latter is often shortened to "couldn't" - but we don't care!). I hope you enjoy your stay. I just could believe it when I found this page.

I`ll be honest with you here Optimus, it was/IS an amazing machine, but still had a z80 at 6 Mhz trying to push 24K of screen memory around, I believe the CPC had 16K of data with a 4Mhz... so the SAM was underpowered like CPC, well, `til the accelerator card... wish I knew asm like you :) oh, get SimCoupe :)
It was an amazing machine, but then it was meant to be a super ZX Spectrum, though faar more advanced... there`s an accelerator card nowadays, pushing it to 20 Mhz...
Thanks for posting this. I think it's interesting to see the different versions of PoP. I'd have to say that the SAM Coupe version is probably the worst-looking overall that I've seen except for the animation you mentioned. The graphics and sound, however, aren't exactly up to par when you consider the Apple version, which looks far superior to any other (except for PoP Classic, of course). I only had DOS back then so I was stuck with another graphically inferior version.
Sweet :) If you get the emulator SimCoupe then you can play it on your PC (or Mac)... also I have a poke to type in that lets you skip levels, so I still play it a lot :D
The SAM Coupe was a British 8-bit machine released at the end of 1989 that many wrongly think was a super Spectrum, when in fact fact it was a lot more... Graphics like an ST/Amiga, 6 Channel soundchip (two more than the Amiga) 512K (Up to 4.5 MegaBytes) and simply the best Basic ever IMHO...
@thorgallpl got any 3d amiga stuff that actually uses the amiga and not just ported code from the st so taht it runs slower on the amiga when it should run faster?
Wasn`t supported much by the big game companies as it only sold around 12,000 units but had a great userbase/scene and also, you could run 48K Speccy software and 128K (patched) ZX games :D Look on wiki for SAM Coupe
Spectrum code with ST graphics. Sometimes logical steps never work out...

Huh,what just happened at 2:55? Did they mess up the physics of the game? The prince isn't supposed to stop in mid-air when doing a running jump. =/

I can't remember, but I think if you type: prince megahit or kinda, it allows you to do some tricks, like "SHIFT" + L for skiping levels.. =)
