  • I was going to get the basic one but i went off the idea with the stupid price for RAM and keyboard. I know you can get 3rd P goods but why Apple does not put 2G RAM in and leave a slot for another 2G free i dont know, if you want 4G then the two 1G are worthless.

  • doublydoo

  • again blah blah blah blah blah a lot

  • i own a macbook pro 15 (2.8GHZ INTEL CORE 2 DUO/ 4GB RAM/ 500GB HARD DRIVE).

i'm thinking about selling it and switching over to a mac mini. i own a separate monitor.

    think its worth it??

  • I think it's time for a change from windows, i can't wait to get a Mac mini...roll on payday

  • The iMac is over a $1000 more!! I don't think I would get that one even if I didn't have a monitor! Fortunately, I have a 27" Asus. I'm buying a mini this week!

  • I got this thing and am using my hdtv at the moment. I didn't plan it this way but I may get another and use this one with my home theater.

  • Hey... this was 11 days before my birthday!

  • @rockandrolldramadork You can use almost any usb mouse, But a windows keyboard isn't possible.( Because it has the "Windows" button instead of the "Command" button.)

  • will mac mini work with a macbook? like add to it sort of

  • @bossfilms1 explain more clearly

  • @rockandrolldramadork

    Simple answer: yes you can.

  • the catch is, the thunderbolt display (moniter) costs 1000 dollars, totalling as much as a really good Imac

  • @Rslord1999 That's why i said if you already have a monitor this is great, if not go for an iMac. :)

  • @Rslord1999 I already have a monitor hooked up to my pc laptop, so i am saving up for this

  • Nice review, but it sounds like someone is jacking off in the background... lol

  • its sad that you could put like 10 or these inside my pc but there 10 times better...

  • Nice review. I've been trying to decide whether I should get one for the family room TV. I have an iMac in the (great) room; mostly now being used by other family members. I spend lots of time nowadays with my iPhone or iPad and AirPlay on AppleTV to watch YouTube on our 65" TV. Hooking a Mac mini to it would be awesome! BTW, I couldn't tell if you were on a table or on the floor?

  • @rpfrianeza I'd go for a laptop if you already have a imac, when you need power just use that and the laptop for everything else.

  • added to previous comment: with 8GB of RAM.

  • @1game2dudes 8Gb i would assume would be fine, but if your going to be doing all that all the time go for 16GB (can be bought from 3rd party vendors.)

  • @iCouldAppThat Can the Mac mini (mid 2011 model) support up to 16GB of RAM?

  • @SuperEnigmation go to crucial.com they have a test you can do just enter psecs of the mac mini

  • can i run Final Cut Pro X, skype, a game, and screenflow at the same time with no lag or little lag in game??

  • So... I can plug via usb my samsung or lg optical drive in mac mini to read dvd/cd or i only can do that with the apple drive, Mac Mini supports samsung optical drive? And intel Hd graphics 3000 it's good for games like wow and starcraft 2? Good review man!

  • @Samuraillol yea you can, supports any optical drive, but apple optical drives are what they are made for. And honestly, Im not sure for those games, havent used them but i would assume so.

  • Man what is up with your AUDIO man? Can't you hear the clicking?

  • retar

  • Do you recommend spending more money on the mac mini that comes with osx lion server?

  • What screen resolution are you able to get on your 55'' LED HDTV? Did you have to tweak any settings to get it to display properly (ie was the picture stretched or compressed initially?) I have an Acer hooked up to a Vizio VW37L right now and the best res I can get on the TV is 1024 x 768 even though my Acer's native res is 1600 x 900. Just wondering if I can expect a decent res if I upgrade to a Mac Mini and if I need to look out for something specific in the type of TV I purchase next.

  • @paulbaker3 I've got it running at 1080p, and the picture is just as it should be. The display options in the settings include 1080p, so there was no tweaking necessary. Hope this helped :)

  • @iCouldAppThat Thanks mate!

  • I ended up getting the 2.7 Ghz Dual Core Mac Mini. I ordered 8GB of ram so I should be installing that whenever it comes in the mail. Personally I'm impressed with it's performance for what it is. I also have a 15 inch MacBook Pro that I now rarely use. When editing video it is a bit choppy but processes the video faster than my MBP. Eventually I'll pass this Mac Mini down or hook it up to a tv and get a Mac Pro.

  • Thanks for the video. I think I may be getting a Mac Mini!!

  • i hear it can hook up to any tv with hdmi is this true, will this make it lag any problems come from this

  • @fat1man1strangler From what i can tell, no. I have it hooked up via HDMI to a 55" LED HDTV ad have noticed no lag.

  • OMG YOU SMUDGED THE ALUMINUM :-0

  • how well do you think it will do for video editing

  • @KallumMcKee95 extremely well

  • iPod- Cool

  • iPod

  • iPod: Mac Mini!

  • iPod- nice video!

  • ipod: not bad!

  • iPod: Mac Mini 4 ever!

  • does it really gets very hot?? how could you cool a mac mini?

  • I cool my over clocked widows pc with liquid nitrogen. Obviously I only use it to show off. I have a intel core i7 chip over clocked to 6 gHz

  • @iCloudAppThat Can you play video games on it? If so, what are some examples? (L4D, Borderlands, etc.)

  • @Lamborghini0000 Yes, but dont expect anything astounding just because this is a compact machine, and doesnt have a GREAT graphics card. It has intel HD 3000, which is integrated into the processor. If you're a heavy PC games, i would go for the iMac.

  • cool, just look for LACK78's video, I couldn't copy link here, he's got 21k hits and you'll know why

  • FYI: I watched your video 'cuz its label "Mac Mini (Mid 2011) Full Review, I'd like similar video from LACK78, no hard feelings ok

  • @vinlata there aren't nay hard feelings lol. I just like to get feedback on what i can improve on what what exactly you didntl like about it. Can you pinpoint anything?

  • I've learn nothing from your video, talk about cosmetic? should be like this video pal, look at other review

  • @vinlata Sorry if you didn't like it. A lot of people do care about cosmetics, though. On top of that, i do talk about the performance for a good amount, and i have links at the end of the video so that you can see the mac mini perform for your own eyes. If you didn't get to this parts, you should. If you still didn't like my video, thanks for the constructive criticism, I'm always trying to get better.

  • CDs, DVDs and BDs are digital media.

  • My old mac mini had a gray apple on a white background...good review though!

  • Just wondering because i didnt hear you say anythin about it, when it gets hot does the fan make much noise or is it still quiet?

I do have a window 20 cm from where I will place it so i think it helps alot to cool it down. (:

    Nice video, thank you (:

  • @TDUsafiro It makes a decent amount of noise, only the amount you would expect a computer to make with the fans running full speed. Not loud enough to compare to the iMac or the Mac Pro, but louder than say the Macbook Air. Also, if its to any comparison, you wouldn't be able to hear it if you have your TV and any regular volume. Hope i helped :) And glad you enjoyed :)

  • @iCouldAppThat Thank for a good answer, im just so tired of the pc i have now, its not exstremely loud but turning it off is like entering heaven..

I have been thinking of getting a 2.7GHz 4 gb ram version but it is kinda exspensive, i'm not sure yet.. The computer i have now has 2.6 and 2 gb ram and i have had it for like 4 years, so it should be faster :)

    Which one do you have?

  • @TDUsafiro I have the 2.0GHZ quad core, 8GB Ram intel integrated Hd 3000 graphics.

  • @iCouldAppThat Oh, that one is the best right. It costs double the cheapest version, is it really worth it? :)

  • @TDUsafiro i would say so, just so you don't get outdated in 3 years with the "bad" version. With the maxed out one you have a good 5-6 maybe 7 years with it.

  • @iCloudAppThat Hell yes! I just picked up mine today!!!!! I love it!!!

  • @iUseiMacs You going to make a video on it? I did and i loved it haha. Still love it. It's so small, but yet a huge powerhouse.

  • @iCouldAppThat Hey, i am thinking of getting a Mac Mini. I play aa few games like Call of duty and Counter strike. Does that seem like something the Mac Mini can handle?

    Thanks, i enjoyed :)

  • @zejko123 Hey, is that all you would be using the mac mini for is gaming? If so, no get the iMac for about the same price. If your only the casual gamer, then sure.

  • @iCouldAppThat Oh nono i don't just use it for gaming, i'll use it for work, social stuff and other entertainment too :-)

  • theres the small indicator light and then theres like a camera looking thing to the left of that. What is that?

  • @VRKapps It is the IR port for a remote.

  • Finally! A review!!!!!!!!

  • @iUseiMacs Haha, Did you like it?

  • Have you noticed the headphone jack and input jack to not work. I got a Mini Server 2011 and I can't get my normal microphone to work nor my surround sound that goes out through headphone jack. The only thing I cant get to work is the apple headphones form my iPhone. Also the intel hd 3000 has been lag gin like crazy. Like my MBP i7 with the Intel HD 3000 looks great but my Mac Mini is lagging like crazy.

  • @MrAJsTech I haven't noticed any of that. I know intel graphics aren't great, but they sure dont lag. If i were you, i would go get your mac mini replaced. Take a backup of it, first though.

  • @iCouldAppThat yeah. I do run Three monitors off of it. But one of which is USB to DVI but that doesn't used the graphics memory. I use the HDMI for my main 27 inch monitor and thunderbolt to DVI for my 19 inch monitor. But still shouldn't lag with 8GB of RAM. Also the headphone jack thing is weird as well

  • @MrAJsTech Definitely get that checked out. Also, look in activity monitor to see what resources are being taken up. Thats all i would think to do. What do you do on it?

  • @iCouldAppThat Video rendering. But the lagg happens when I do normal tasks like safari and stuff. Also headphone jack is weird part. Going to store today see what they say.

  • Nice review!

  • great review

  • Great Video

  • I see you have it up finally.

    PS: Great Vdeo

  • Great review.

  • very nice review!

  • Nice
