Hey there. I'm going to get my first Dobro soon, so I'll need a lot of practice to get to such songs. But what I still didn't figure out is: do you use a fingerpick on the ring-finger(and thus do you use this finger?) or do you just play with 3 fingers?

The tuning HERE is open G major DGDGBD. This is used by some Dobro players, also by guitarists. But the traditional dobro tuning is GBDGBD, which keeps a "symmetry". I'm a guitar teacher who uses lots of tunings. Hopes this helps.
