  • Of COURSE its a pyroclastic explosion...you can see the radiant heat driving the clouds back.

  • Yes, it is a pyroclastic explosion. The tephra in the explosion cloud is hot, thus a pyroclastic explosion. It did not produce a pyroclastic flow, but that is another beast all together. I'm doing my dissertation on Fuego and lived there for two years as well. I am quite familiar with Fuego, its explosions and related deposits.

  • Great video, but not a pyroclastic explosion. I've been to Fuego a few times and Ash emissions like that are pretty common.
