As i stated before...assuming that Link has ALL access to ANY equipment, just as chief does, the magic abilities that are embed in each device will overthrow any abilities that the chief has.

Halo Nerd? No, Halo is good, but there are much better, I'd much rather play Mass Effect or other storyline driven games. Most are put out by Bioware but other VGD companies put out good ones too.

2. Fierce Diety can only work if there is a boss genius.
3. Nayru's Love only lasts 12 seconds

Link can also use magic armor. You could waste like 20 clips of sniper ammo on head shots and he won't get a scratch on him. But if Link would want to be REALLY unfair, he could just use the ocarina to go back in time and assassinate MC, or slow time down. And what about Link using the FD mask?? His sword is the size of MC's body, I'd like to see MC take a hit from the double helix sword like a man.

No I've played a few Zelda games and don't get me wrong I am a fan of both. But come on....Master Chief has a gun and an overshield and super human abilities. Maybe saying that a grunt or marine could beat Link was going to far.
Maybe so... but thats not to say links only long range weapon is the bow and arrow, in twilight princess link aquires a double claw shot allowing him to jump from wall to wall and grab and crush enemys , obviously your right in that master chief has a gun and overshield, but lets not forget about the fairies that instantly heal and revive Link.

I havn't played twilight princess very much yet so I don't know anything about this double claw. I'm going to asume that a sniper rifle or spartan laser have better range and power. I forgot about the fairies but isn't there a limit to how many Link can have. Besides right after Link uses a fairy MC would have full overshields again and would just shoot Link until he runs out of fairies.
Well your right about everything there but lets put storyline economics into this, Lets say after the events of Halo 3 where chief is suspended in outer space, pretty much unarmed he found a way to get back to earth except by doing this he travels back in time to an age where Link from twilight Princess is alive and has his full arsenal of weapons
First of all, how many fairies does that symbol mean? Sorry if that was a dumb question but I really have no Idea. If the symbol means 10 or less fairies than I think MC would have enough ammo with his trusty assualt rifle to win. However, if the symbol means like 100 fairies seeing as MC would have limited ammo and Link would be fully stalked, Link would win. Also, in the context of the story, we don't actually know if there is no weapons on that part of the ship. There could be a cache.
yoshilinks, you're definitely not listing his "full arsenal". You forgot the Gale Boomerang, for one, and then the ball-and-chain (don't remember the name of it). Also, I think it's reasonable to expect the Master Chief side of this argument to supply his list of weapons as well. And one major disadvantage against MC is that he can only carry two guns, three at most, and has a limit of eight total grenades and one equipment. Link does not have these limits, and could outlast MC.

Yes, actually it proved that there can be a good FPS for consoles. The Z targetting system is only used in, guess what Zelda, see if it revolutionized it, it would be used in other games. As I said you can't really change an FPS, plus, completely changing the story in the sequal when the war isn't over is just making a new game. Where as Zelda, they take down Ganondorf and all the evil each time, yet the story completely stays the same, its just a repeat, play one you've played them all.
So, you're telling me that Fable did not utilize this, what the hell was I using all this time then? And it isn't taking down Ganondorf every time. Played Link's Awakening? Waking the Wind Fish? Halo isn't making a totally new game, it was a continuation. It has the same core gameplay, shoot aliens. Zelda has the same core gameplay, solve puzzles and beat enemies. They BOTH have similar gameplay to their predecessor. Saying that only Zelda does shows that you're a hypocrite.

1) Master Chief had the same main goal in the games. Sure there were slight changes, but the main story stayed the same, same as most of the LoZ games.
2) It does not need to change, however, the Zelda series had a much bigger impact than Halo did. IIRC, GTA also uses the targeting sytem, there are a lot more but I can't think of them atm.

Zelda's "well done gameplay" is tap random buttons for random sword swings, and if sword doesn't work use the random bow shooting. people never pay attention to strategy and real sword styles, plus the Baldur's Gate series placed sixth in Gamespy's best games ever list.

true as it gets. apart from play one you've played them all. if you play ocarina of time you might of well of played wind waker and twilight princess but zelda games with an other head view are a different experiance with game play. limited sword movements makes them slightly more challengeing but overall id say that ones like minish cap and link to the past are easier.
One more thing, Perfect Dark and Goldeneye already proved that console FPS can be good, before Halo was established. Halo is a great game, but didn't make the same amount of impact that the Zelda series made. People have played all the Zelda games, myself included, despite the somewhat recycled storylines. Why? Simply because the quality of its games are just done exceptionally well. Zelda is praised as one of the greatest series ever made, and for a good reason.

In fact, herez just a quick combo to start with...
Start with a Narus Love spell which nulls all damage. Meaning he cant be killed by anything...
Then use his ice arrow to freeze cheif in his tracks.
Then! He can use a bomb chucked at his face which will explode either killing him or at least taking out his sheld.
The final blow being delt with a slice (which btw would have no problem goin straight through his armor) across his face. Link wins.

Master Sword, the sword of evil's bane. Is Marter Chief evil? Nope. Therefore it will not give Link any special advantages against the Chief. If you ask me Link needs to go forward in time. Hyrule is set in what seems to be the Middle Ages and Chief lives in year 2500(?) c.e. Going back in time would be pointless.

Link can also use magic armor. You could waste like 20 clips of sniper ammo on head shots and he won't get a scratch on him. But if Link would want to be REALLY unfair, he could just use the ocarina to go back in time and assassinate MC, or slow time down. And what about Link using the FD mask?? His sword is the size of MC's body, I'd like to see MC take a hit from the double helix sword like a man.

Maybe so... but thats not to say links only long range weapon is the bow and arrow, in twilight princess link aquires a double claw shot allowing him to jump from wall to wall and grab and crush enemys , obviously your right in that master chief has a gun and overshield, but lets not forget about the fairies that instantly heal and revive Link.

I havn't played twilight princess very much yet so I don't know anything about this double claw. I'm going to asume that a sniper rifle or spartan laser have better range and power. I forgot about the fairies but isn't there a limit to how many Link can have. Besides right after Link uses a fairy MC would have full overshields again and would just shoot Link until he runs out of fairies.

Well your right about everything there but lets put storyline economics into this, Lets say after the events of Halo 3 where chief is suspended in outer space, pretty much unarmed he found a way to get back to earth except by doing this he travels back in time to an age where Link from twilight Princess is alive and has his full arsenal of weapons

First of all, how many fairies does that symbol mean? Sorry if that was a dumb question but I really have no Idea. If the symbol means 10 or less fairies than I think MC would have enough ammo with his trusty assualt rifle to win. However, if the symbol means like 100 fairies seeing as MC would have limited ammo and Link would be fully stalked, Link would win. Also, in the context of the story, we don't actually know if there is no weapons on that part of the ship. There could be a cache.

yoshilinks, you're definitely not listing his "full arsenal". You forgot the Gale Boomerang, for one, and then the ball-and-chain (don't remember the name of it). Also, I think it's reasonable to expect the Master Chief side of this argument to supply his list of weapons as well. And one major disadvantage against MC is that he can only carry two guns, three at most, and has a limit of eight total grenades and one equipment. Link does not have these limits, and could outlast MC.

Yes, actually it proved that there can be a good FPS for consoles. The Z targetting system is only used in, guess what Zelda, see if it revolutionized it, it would be used in other games. As I said you can't really change an FPS, plus, completely changing the story in the sequal when the war isn't over is just making a new game. Where as Zelda, they take down Ganondorf and all the evil each time, yet the story completely stays the same, its just a repeat, play one you've played them all.

1) Master Chief had the same main goal in the games. Sure there were slight changes, but the main story stayed the same, same as most of the LoZ games.
2) It does not need to change, however, the Zelda series had a much bigger impact than Halo did. IIRC, GTA also uses the targeting sytem, there are a lot more but I can't think of them atm.

I know, heres how I think, story, then gameplay, then graphics, which is why I really don't like Zelda, rotten overused story, poor gameplay, and then the crappy graphics. I like better games like FF7, star wars (any), most blizzard games (except WoW and Warcraft), Bioware games of awesomeness (KotOR 1, Baldur's Gate 1, Baldur's Gate II SoA and its expansion ToB), I could go on for ages. Your never really going to see a brilliant new one, just repeated ones, thats Nintendo for ya.

Then tell me why it places higher than those games you posted. Only you think Zelda series is bad because of those reasons. OoT places better than FFVII in most top 10s. Zelda's gameplay is well done. You're blinded by sheer hatred for the series.

Because no one looks at real storyline. Zelda's "well done gameplay" is tap random buttons for random sword swings, and if sword doesn't work use the random bow shooting. people never pay attention to strategy and real sword styles, plus the Baldur's Gate series placed sixth in Gamespy's best games ever list.

Again, you're showing ignorance. The veteran Zelda players play with careful spacing in 3 heart/no damage runs. One site? While OoT has been dominating countless others left and right? Zelda has different challenges and runs that forces you to think twice about randomly tapping buttons.

When attached to bow effective. Other than that bye bombs, say hello to my little friendly spell called the death spell, rips the spirit out of enemies like a hot knife through butter, D&D will win every time.

Harder than you might think. I can say I can beat the game in less than 2 hours too and make up an excuse like I'm too old or good for Zelda or that I don't want to.

Like I said, a good game needs a good storyline to compliment its gameplay and without those, clearly Zelda would have died a long time ago, but hasn't. You can't say that the games from the series sucks when the series is still being praised 20 years after it started.

true as it gets. apart from play one you've played them all. if you play ocarina of time you might of well of played wind waker and twilight princess but zelda games with an other head view are a different experiance with game play. limited sword movements makes them slightly more challengeing but overall id say that ones like minish cap and link to the past are easier.

One more thing, Perfect Dark and Goldeneye already proved that console FPS can be good, before Halo was established. Halo is a great game, but didn't make the same amount of impact that the Zelda series made. People have played all the Zelda games, myself included, despite the somewhat recycled storylines. Why? Simply because the quality of its games are just done exceptionally well. Zelda is praised as one of the greatest series ever made, and for a good reason.

Aparantly not, because on wikipedia it says and I quote "GameSpy's Allen Rausch argued that, as Halo: Combat Evolved showed that first-person shooters could work on consoles, Halo Wars "is an RTS ... on a console ... and it works". You mean completely, the storyline was used in almost all of them, and it sucked, unless it has difficulty settings. also who praises it, Zelda fanatics. I've easily played better. I personally rank Zelda as 3rd to last, just above Metroid and Mario.

So, you believe one person and not a large amount gamers which agree that Perfect Dark and Goldeneye were among the greatest games in the N64/PS1 era? They were praised as an outstanding console FPS before Halo existed. If the story line sucked why would the games score so high? A great game needs a good storyline to compliment its gameplay. Zelda is praised by different people not fanatics. It places in the top 10 lists consistently and is praised as the greates. series. ever. in gamefaqs.

Your opinion is different from everyone else and nothings wrong with that. If the storylines sucked, the series would have ended long ago. But it didn't. In fact, its one of this generations best series. OoT is still being held as one of the best games ever made. If the series sucked that bad then 99% of the games are worst because only a few series can be on par or surpass LoZ.
