i think there's something wrong about the choreography that makes karina dance in a way i feel it's difficult to watch...hmmm...definitely karina's showmanship and techniques are better...and the leading often make her fall or unable to balance herself in some instances...and i don't see her enjoy dancing the way she dances with slavik...what a waste!

You never stop in cha cha cha? What the hell? I've only ever heard you never stop in rumba. Of course, if you mean the body movement, you're correct. But that applies to any dance, including modern (tango, waltz, etc.).
While I agree it's rather stiff (which is explainable by the fact they were a new partnership at this point) I wouldn't say the top body rhythm is non-existent. There are several changes in rhythm, breaks and slow downs. Though I have to agree that they could use a little more dynamics when it comes to musicality.

Max and Yulia was a perfect example of bad boy good girl. If you take a look at UK Open 2007 you can see how weak Max is when compared to the other finalists. IMO, he's quarterfinalist at best. I do have to agree Bryan is the best of my time and I also agree with Karina being the best female. She's the ephitomy of latin technique. Though, I still like Carmen's performance very much.

Cuz Karina is Russian. Her dad's last name is probably Smirnoff, so in Russian her (ladies) last name changes to -ova. There are other endings that a ladies last name changes to, but I can't think of them right now.

ooohh that competition was in 2005... when you said recently i thought you meant with in the past few months. sorry lol innocent misunderstanding =) um and yeah dancing with the stars the show has been finished but i think the tour is drawing to an end this february or march

I know that Dmitri and Karina have only been dancing for a year. As individuals, they are great dancers. However, they don't appear to be dancing together as one unit. They are lacking that certain spark.
I love Karina Smirnoff. She is my favorite Latin dancer. I enjoyed watching Slavik and Karina dance, they truly oozed with chemistry , definitely were a power couple, and had an undeniable presence on the floor. It is a shame they are no longer partners.
