Yes the military Industrial Complex wanted a war in Viet Nam and they knew LBJ would go along with it. Proof? 4 days after JFK was killed LBJ issued NSAM 273 rescinding JFK's order NSAM 263, to bring home the troops. Why the hurry? 58,000 American troops were killed by that order for a war JFK knew had no strategic value.

Saddam started to protest. It was a trick so the US would then have an excuse to go to war.

Saddam started to protest. The US sent a UN ambassador to tell Saddam that the US is taking no position in your dispute with Kuwait. i.e. Saddam was being told to he could invade and not face scrutiny from the US. It was a trick so the US would then have an excuse to go to war.

One of the first actions undertaken by LBJ, suddenly shot into office, was to rescind little-known National Security Action Memo 263, which John F. Kennedy signed (an action that sealed his death). That memo called for withdrawing 1,000 troops from Vietnam by the end of 1963. Curiously, NSAM 273, overturning Kennedy's earlier memo, was already secretly written one day before JFK was killed!

From unscripted CIA documents, America under the Kennedy administration orchestrated a military coup to overthrow and murder President Diem of South Vietnam government, who strongly opposed U.S. troops' presence in Vietnam because it would be used as a propaganda by communists to lure more Vietnamese to fight against South Vietnam and America; Ho chi Minh, communist leader of North Vietnam, also celebrated this coup and said, "We will win this war; I cannot believe Americans are so stupid."
