  • George Bush and chimps? The resemblance is uncanny

  • Evolution does not believe we came from monkeys.. It believes we share a common ancestor. It's like saying that domestic cats came from lions.. We also share a common ancestor with rodents, if you go back far enough...

  • beautiful video

  • What is this video about?

  • No. You do not have the 'RIGHT' to behave like a monkey EVEN if evolution can be proved to be fact.

Thousands of years of civilised society and culture is stopping you. You have NO RIGHT to behave like that in a civilised society. Laws have been made to stop you, cops are trained to enforce that put very bluntly.

  • @jw2327 You seem to have gravely misunderstood the point of the video: I am not in any way implying that you have a "right" to behave like a monkey. The message is that the violent aspects of our nature are derived from the fact that we are tribal primates. If we understood and took heed of thee facts, we would have an easier time repressing these maladaptive traits, and lead more peaceful lives.

  • @UppruniTegundanna I think the video sucks to be honest. It is really difficult to understand the point of the violent propaganda. I also disagree that 'our violent aspects' are maladaptive traits. They are what gives us the edge in survival situations in which you actually NEED to adapt quite vigorously.

But I get the impression that English is not your first language because your not using the language to accurately convey any ideas or to effectively defend this weird video. Sorry.

  • I am brought to tears by such a brilliant video.

  • best video on youtube

  • wow

  • awsome video. I love it.

  • 5:53. Lazy asshole go to a damn museum. A lot of dedicated people already worked hard on finding, extracting, cleaning, transporting, identifying, classifying, arranging and displaying these transitional creatures. The least you could fucking do is get off your lazy ignorant ass and go see all this work.

  • its still a shame that some people STILL cant accept that evolution has been proven on many many many levels to be fact. and they still say 'where is the proof'. sigh.....

  • This is a brilliant video.

Interestingly, in general, apes are about as intelligent as a downs syndrome human. I guess that must mean that Creationists and ID proponents have the IQ of plankton. Because even the most humble chimpanzee is a thousand times more intelligent than something like VenomdefangedX or the other happy-clapping god-botherers who deny Reality.

  • @sixtiksix A number of people have made comments like this; somehow imagining that I am singling specific groups out. No, the video is about humanity as a whole, not specific portions of humanity.

  • @UppruniTegundanna 3:41 what is that clip from

  • @OZDE32 It's from the Desmond Morris documentary "The Human Animal".

  • @UppruniTegundanna is it south africans ganging up on a white man?

  • Comment removed

  • @jw2327 It doesn't say that we have a right to behave like savages. It says the opposite - the video is a criticism of the statement made by Venomfangx.

  • @UppruniTegundanna as an American, I find that comment to be both annoying and completely off base. As you said sir humanity as a whole.

  • @sixtiksix Another idiot American astounds the world with his incredible combination of arrogance and ignorance.

  • @GerrohTheCommie Another human displays his callousness towards a vocal minority in a group.

  • @sixtiksix I guess Stalin was American too huh? And no the video is not comparing Stalin to Bush. I know the difference between a president and a dictator. The video is comparing humans in general with apes. He also showed the attacks of the twin towers. I guess the men driving those planes into the buildings were American too huh? Stop acting like a victim.

  • This is such a great video. I come back to it quite often. Thanks.

  • @haile I fail to see how the skin colour of the individuals in the video is in any way relevant to anything. There is nothing inherently good or bad about anyone's skin colour, and this video is simply displaying some of the behaviours exhibited by humans. No racial distinctions are being made.

As for the soul, could you elaborate on what exactly you think a soul is, and why white people don't have one? I don't think I have a soul - in fact I don't think anyone does, but please make your case.

  • @UppruniTegundanna I def think the case for racial distinction could be made....but that's the fun part

  • @UppruniTegundanna at least they haven't mistaken you for a mormon uppruni... (black's are supposed to be some sort of half-race according to mormonism.. if i am informed correctly)

  • @haile141 the video also shows 2 chimps 'kissing' then it shows two white persons kissing. I didn't even think about race before you posted your ignorant comment.

  • if you beleive that you came from your mother, does that give you permission to get fucked by your dad too?

    Ah this is fun!

  • @ytrewQwerty prick

  • @haile141 Pretty common. Resort to name calling when you have no good response.

  • Comment removed

  • @ytrewQwerty k ''Hand in your face''

  • @haile141 I didn't think about that until you mentioned, maybe you're the racist?

  • Thank you

  • You believe you came from a god. Doesn't that give you permission to act like one? Sit back and watch children die of cancer, etc etc etc.

  • @elvisload

I'm going to steal that god thing for my blog.

  • How on earth carl sagan could stay positive when faced with pictures of our own destructive behavior I have no idea. We're just upset upright monkeys with plastic.

  • You know what's sad? Is that people either read the bible and don't interpret it, read the parts their church tells them, or don't read at all. Actually read the thing, you'll find a lot of horrible shit. But I'm sure you'll find reasons to justify them.. assholes.

  • Honestly why the fuck do people care what other people believe in? Just worry about your damn selves, if someone doesn't want to hear it don't shove your believe in God, or non-believe, down their throat. From either stand point on the issue they have free will. Let them be free.

  • @Belac510 1) Because he/she is completely ignoring reality to maintain an ancient belief system. They reject the real world; doesn't that bother you in the slightest? 2) The fact that so many people choose to ignore reality has major effects on government decisions - such as funding for research into medical procedures and treatments within our grasp that could save/improve millions of lives.

  • @Belac510 Yeah, fuck trying to correct people. Fuck trying to get your opinion on the matter out there and possibly persuading other people. Fuck it. If somebody wants to be a nazi,a jihadist or a stalinist, let em! We should all be loving and tolerant and hold hands!

No, that's not how it works. If you sincerely believe somebody else is wrong, you correct them. If you believe their 'wrongness' could negatively affect the world around you, you DEFINITELY correct them.

  • That was truly beautiful... I don't really understand, on even the most basic level, how humans can believe evolution is a lie with the truly gigantic amount of evidence supporting it.

  • @Rhodonite100 Not all monkeys are as violent as you say. So all people are sane and wouldn't murder someone in such a way for no reason? Also, we didn't come from monkeys. No one is saying that. Monkeys, chimpanzees, gorillas etc all share a common ancestry with humans. We are a type of ape, whether you like it or not. I don't think you get that evolution explains an origin, and that all living things came from that origin, including the raccoon. It's scientific evidence, not empty beliefs.

  • BBC Make this the next "earth" docu please :)

  • Humanity is young, an infant still scared of the fairy tales and their consequences, we will grow out of it, the intolerance, the ignorance, the faith systems, they will all go after more generations see the mistakes of the previous, and the reasons why.

  • Who is talking at 2:55 ?

It sounds like Sam Harris, am I right? The voice sounds really familiar. Thanks :D

  • @Einsteinium007 He sounds nothing like Sam Harris, it's Steven Pinker.

  • @Rhodonite100 Wow you got fucking destroyed by an educated woman nonetheless.

Don't come back to this video again.

  • Darwin said it best at 8:20... even though we are without a dought the best evolved creature since life was formed---our bodies still tell the true story of the human animal that we are...and that is some thing almost impossible to change ---unless we try to reconfigure our genetic code which can lead us into performing horrible experiments and unwanted disasters.

  • Wow you are retarded haha you have got to be joking... do you honestly call yourself an intelligent being HAHA hey hey just in case you didn't know every animal fights and every animal communicates and not only monkeys use tools. If you believe you came from a monkey doesn't it mean you have permission to act like one" Gosh you have got to be one of the dumbest people i have come across. HAHAHAHAHA

  • @12jachar You failed to make a point. You just slinged around random attacks because you were angry or discomforted by the video, much like a monkey.

  • Not only is man an animal, but as a result of thinking her/she are above animals, thanks to the religious thinking, man has become worse than an animal. So man remains an animal and is in fact worse than all the animals in existance on planet earth!

  • @Rhodonite100 Ok..., and that concludes our conversation. You are obviously here to troll, or just to insult and spread misinformation. Avoiding quastions is something I don't tolerate in YouTube comments, so...

good bye, and have fun my fellow YouTuber!

  • @Rhodonite100

    *facepalm*

I wasn't talking about percentages I was talking about evidence for fusion of chromosome number 2 in our genome. How come there is evidence that our chromosome nr. 2 was created by fusion of two chromosomes into one? Just like evolution form apes predicts.

  • but hey - lets all murder each other over the shape of the "jewelry" you wear around your neck - or the color of your skin - that'll make ya a genius - fer sure. I think Jack Nicholson said it best in "Witches" - "WOMEN! Were they an accident, or did God do it to us on PURPOSE!" I say they're the finest art the planet ever turned out - call me an idiot too. Fine.

  • you folks are ?arguing? about whether or not we are ?primates? who evolved from chimps? 2000 years from now people will look back and laugh at yer ignorance - many do today (I am one of them-sorry man-get over it) I think its also arrogant to assume we are the most evolved species in the universe - ain't been here that long - plenty of others around long before we ate our first banana

  • @Rhodonite100 LOL. Hey, if you don't wanna hear about it, don't write about it. You made a point and I explained it, and you thought that I wouldn't dare go into that subject, did you? xD Anyways, how do you explain the Ken Miller proof (in this video) for our relation ship to monkeys? Chimps have 24 pairs, but we have 23 pairs of chromosomes, and we have the evidence that two chromosome got fused into one. How do you explain that?

  • @Rhodonite100

"...or how an ape would smear it's own poop in it's mouth to eat as witnessed by someone I know."

Are you familiar with term coprophagia? Did you watch 2girls1cup video? There are internet sites about coprophagia....my point is, monkeys sometimes eat poop, but su do people. I know its disgusting and repugnant to most of us, but let face it; some people really do it, just like monkeys.

  • Hey guys, next time you see a theist, ask them "What if god lied?".

  • @Rhodonite100

I won't shut up, when you promulgate stupidity in a public forum. You're going to get called on it again and again, as it's dishonesty of the lowest calibre.

You may leave any time. Perhaps that will count as a 'good bye'. If it makes you happy to realize that you've been disingenuous and have given not a shred of evidence for your assertions, so be it. Good luck getting on in any society where truth is favoured.

    Now, stick the flounce.

  • @Rhodonite100

My English is perfectly cromulent, whereas you've littered your posts with inanities like "What did you say huganrianian orangutan????"

I read your 'post above'. It's ridiculous, which is why I ask you for proof. Are you going to comply, or keep waffling? Right now, this is like talking to a 6-year-old who's been caught cheating.

  • @Rhodonite100

Good. I knew you have no idea what "proof" means.

  • @Rhodonite100

Ah. Argument from "I'm not gonna say, because you're a doo-doo head!" Nice.

    Now, let's see your proof.

  • @Rhodonite100

Great! Perhaps after I die I'll agree with you! Unfortunately for everyone else, I won't be able to communicate it to the living: No one _ever_has_.

So where'd you get your knowledge?

  • @Rhodonite100

If it's a vile thought, so be it. The way the world works doesn't give a shit about what you like or don't like. Deal with it.

  • Nice vid, well done.

  • @Rhodonite100

Who am I talking to? Some human trash. Some intellectual shithole, some stupid, evil motherfucker who haven't read a single book in his whole fucking life, who thinks a scientific journal is a fast food item.

Just go back to your dark, damp cave and weep.

  • @Rhodonite100

You are a dumb fuck, mate. It's sad that spaceship Earth is manned by such a low quality crew like you.

  • This video brings tears to my eyes every time I watch it. Thanks, mate.

  • So true

  • Lovely video, well done.

  • I cannot up-vote this video enough.

  • @2010ksaul Many evolutionists are theists... in fact most are. There is an enormous variety of people who believe in God, so it is nonsensical to have a single opinion towards them.

As for rights, my simple answer is that human beings came up with those rights. This may seem imperfect, but as we have overcome our tendencies towards tribalism and xenophobia, we have gradually opened our understanding of what liberty means to people wider and wider.

  • @UppruniTegundanna Most evolutionists are theists? Where did you get this from?

  • @EGaW Well, considering the percentages of people who accept evolution, and the percentages of people who identify themselves as believers, there must be a greater number of people who believe in God and evolution than those who believe in evolution, but not God.

  • @UppruniTegundanna Search Theistic Evolution on Wikipedia, it could help back up your claim. I'd like to post the link here but Youtube is being stupid with me today. Hope this helps.

  • @UppruniTegundanna There are about 70 to 80% Christians in the US (approx. 233,700,000). About 45% of Americans are creationists (approx. 105,200,000). That means there are approx. 128,500,000 Christians in America (approx. 40% of US population) who accept evolution.

  • @EGaW

At most. People can be creationist w/out being Christian; it depends on the overlap of those two [possibly] interdependent sets. If they don't overlap much, then your 128.5 million goes way down. Also, _not_ being a creationist doesn't automatically mean accepting evolution.

  • Comment removed

  • @UppruniTegundanna Which, of course, means the other 60% don't, because they are creationists. Therefore, there are more creationists Christians than evolutionist Christians.

  • @EGaW

Evolution isn't that disconnected from theists. The vast majority of European christians are certainly aware of evolution and don't try to deny it. It's a silly trend that's unique to Americans in the developed world.

  • @2010ksaul Most of my extended family is christian, and none of them ever gave the evolution vs creation subject much importance. Proably most of them don't know about creation and i know that if not all, at least most know evolution as the de facto explenation of where we came from (humans i mean). Open your eyes, all this creation BS was made up by people who want to make profit from impressionable people who unfortunetly fall for it and donate money to assholes who call themselves preachers.

  • @ytrewQwerty see post on your channel

  • I have apes in my ancestry, but, like every other human being on the planet I also have slavetraders, rapists, robbers and politicians in my ancestry. Does that give me permission to act like the worst of these? The idea that one gets "permission" (from whom?) to act like something because it's in your ancestry is absurd.

  • So lets talk origins... (correct me if I'm wrong) but according to natural selection all LIFE emerged from a single cell or amino acids, right? so which came first, plant or animal LIFE, and at what point did either one decide to evolve to the other? or is that one of those mysteries science has yet to uncover? ...keep the faith:) just a little question from an ex-athiest.

  • @2010ksaul The formation of eucaryotic cell (plants, animals, fungi, protozoa) happened by endocytosis (one protocaryotic sell "ate" the other, which formed the nucleus). Then happened secondary endocytosis and formed mitochondria ("animal" cell), then another endocytosis happened (Cyanobacteria) thus forming cloroplast (plant cell). Plant cells have everything as the animal cells+chloroplasts. So "animal life" came fist. Education can go a long way, but faith is easier for you I guess...

  • @hypercub What you call education sure sounds like faith to me..so you believe that (by a truely undirected chance "happening" of random mutation by means of natural selection) both a eucaryotic and protocaryotic cells randomly formed themselves out of a "Primordial soup",and they began to eat each other resulting in a nucleus, and then eventually another random "happening" resulted in plants??Just because one faith is immaterial and the other faith is material or naturalistic; it is still faith

  • @2010ksaul Now you are just using standard creationist tactic, when one question is explained you just jump to another one. Question of abiogenesis is very very different from question of forming eucaryotic cells (most complicated cells that exist). Pocaryotic cells are even simpler (bacteria), and archaea cells are even simpler, they obviously came before eucaryotic cell.

    watch?v=U6QYDdgP9eg

I believe in observation in experiments, in science! You believe in 2000 years old superstitious book.

  • @hypercub Are you saying that you don't have faith? what do you do when "observation and experiments, science!" fails to answer the given question? you see Science and Faith are not mutually exclusive; it is justa question of where you place your faith, and what presuppositions you base your science on. And just because a person believes that life is a result of intelligent design (even Dawkins said it looks designed) or creation, does not mean all science goes out the door. i.e. Francis Collins

  • @2010ksaul One way I would define faith is "making assertions about what exists beyond the realm of our knowledge". As long as you don't make assertions about things outside the realm of our understanding, you are not exercising faith - you are staying within the bounds of human knowledge.

Francis Collins doesn't use faith to understand evolution, but he does to believe in a god beyond our understanding. This is fine, but the boundary of faith lies between our knowledge and our ignorance.

  • @UppruniTegundanna or how about Faith: a hopeful expectation or confidence in a person, concept or thing beyond the realm of our knowledge. Francis Collins does believe in God as a immaterial cause to our material universe; I personaly subscibe to the Inteligent Design theory supported by Dr. Stephen C. Meyer and the Discovery Institute... The idea that a person cannot posess faith in an immaterial creator and continue to use the scientific method is ridiculous...

  • @2010ksaul That's a perfectly fine definition too, although in a sense it reminds me of the distinction between "believe" in "I believe in God" and "I believe in human rights" - the former is in the existence of something, and the latter is in the value of something.

Anyway, I never said that one can't possess faith and use the scientific method - in fact I stated the opposite in saying that Francis Collins doesn't use faith for science, but does for his religious belief.

  • @2010ksaul When science fails to answer given questions I don't do anything. I am comfortable living not knowing every answer. Many questions in the past were hard to answer (shape of earth), but science has resolved them, pushing faith to smaller and smaller gaps in our knowledge.

Please check this clip from Nobel Prize winner Richard Feynman

    watch?v=QkhBcLk_8f0

as he explains his view about life. His words reflect perfectly my view of the world as well.

  • @hypercub checked out the clip, so it seems to me that not aswering the question of existance or purpose of life is perfectly suitable or acceptable for simingly strong willed Nobel prize winners, scholars, and "free thinkers" whom, as far as I can tell, marginalize the human delema, while in hot pursuit of knowledge, eventually leading to strokes of genius such as Eugenics. How does natural selection evolve or equate to humanism and why. If God is dead, what really matters?

  • @2010ksaul Are we at the morality and purpose of life argument now? Eugenics is wrong, for who has the right to decide which traits are more suitable for our environment? The environment (nature) will take care of that. Empathy and caring for fellow human has evolutionary advantages. Natural selection wiped out solitary individuals, because working in a group (tribe) has proven to be more effective in survival for us, humans. Your life matters as much as you want it to, with or without faith.

  • @hypercub If we organized tribes because of natural selection, then lets flip that logic... we are at aprx 7 billion population on the planet, does empathy and carring for our fellow humans include population control? and yes indeed, we are on that morality/purpose argument, or how can we say eugenics or genicide is wrong? "in order to have a moral law you need a moral law giver" -Dr. Ravi Zacharias or 'if there is no God, everything is permitted' -Dostoevsky

  • @2010ksaul Nor I, nor you, want to live in the world where everything is permitted. It has nothing to do with faith, It is personal preference: don't harm others as you don't wat it to be done to you(empathy). Only right thing to do is educate people about consequences of too big population, and educate about contraception, and allow aborting early term pregnancies. A lot of children are unwanted accidents, probably less loved than others.

  • @2010ksaul I am well aware that you won't agree, but I think it is better that less children live a better life, than more children live in poverty (India). However It does not give me the right to make those disicions instead of their parents, but also a church has no right to convince people that using contraception is wrong. Genocide is wrong because you are killing people, and you would not like to be killed (empathy violation). IMO education and prevention are keys to better tomorrow.

  • @hypercub We can go arguing like this for days, but I want to point something out to you. If you want to talk morality, purpose of life and philosophy of life, thats fine. But man, know your boundaries, don't just go and question science of biology and evolution because it don't fit your faith! It is science supported with evidence, don't talk about something you clearly don't know much about. Your faith goes to far, keep it within philosophy and don't attack science, you look foolish.

  • @hypercub I agree,we could go back and forth for as long as we have the will to do so; enjoying the freedom and liberty to do so, I believe comes directly from the God of the bible/Biblical Christianity or the biblical Christian worldview is unique in its defense of every persons ability to exercise their own free will. And I would have no problem with the secular interpretation of the scientific evidence if it were honest and not bias, but when any science insists that any given THEORY is fact

  • @hypercub foolishness is largely a matter of perspective, it sure seems foolish to me the way "free thinkers" reguard any opposing hypothesis as foolishness, while grasping their materialistic reallity with an arogant fabricated certainty... certainty in a THEORY based on ranom chance mutations and "happenings" ...certainty that chaos gave birth to order, that the detailed information system in DNA just "happend" to organize itself. Or do I have it all twisted? ...aliens did it?

  • @2010ksaul Hypothesis of ID is based on what? On irreducible complexity? Write scientific paper prooving that complexity, if you have found the evidence. How can you deny the proof (in this video) written in the very chromosomes that we are closely related to chimps? How much in denial are you? Don't fool yourself, there is no other hypothesis, only imaginary selfcomforting story that we all have a big father who loves us. And btw. your god did genocide.

  • @hypercub

I don't think it's even a hypothesis, as a hypothesis still needs to be falsifiable. Please correct me if I'm wrong though.

  • @laflugantabastardo You are right. Better term is "idea of ID". Interesting thing is that before Darwin everyone was creationist, but he provided proof of evolution, and changed many minds. All those minds would change right back, if the proof for ID was provided! Creationists forget this part of history.

  • @hypercub

They haven't forgotten that Darwin was led astray by Satan and that his theory led Hitler holocaust darwinism liberal democrats socialist Fox News is America prayer in God's constitution.

    /Glenn Beck mode

  • @hypercub and furthermore;)lol ...drawing imaginary lines between what we believe about science and our philosophy on life, is to be intellectually dishonest. A persons Worldview is shaped by their beliefs concerning every aspect of life.and it sounds quite foolish, even dishonest, to arrogantly assert that all science is supported by emperical evidence..if that were true it wouldnt be called the THEORY of evolution. You see,it is simply two opposing theories as to what caused the effect of life

  • @2010ksaul Hey, thery of relativity is just a theory, right. Einstein proved it, and he turned physics upside down, he completely changed it based on his geniousness and evidence! And science accepted it, he had PROOF! Before Darwin everyone was creationist, he PROOVED them wrong, and science accepted it! Discovery Institute doesn't produce scientific papers with evidence! They write some philosophical bullshit, which has nothing to do with biology. Trust me, science would accept new evidence!

  • @2010ksaul

You're an idiot. You have no idea what a scientific theory is. Gravity is only a theory too, yet I doubt you'd be foolish enough to deny gravity. Or how about germ theory. Why don't you just turn to god or the bible when you get sick. After all, modern medicine is JUST A THEORY. And no, its isn't "simply two opposing theories as to what caused the effect of life". You don't have a theory. You have a hypothesis. And to think your hypothesis is the only one out there, is just moronic.

  • @Mattm1986 I'm not a Phd. or anything but... Newton's (((LAW))) of universal gravitation states that every point mass in the universe attracts every other point mass with a force that is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them. You sir, are however quite rude... but I guess it is to be expected from evolved apes.

  • @2010ksaul Newton's Law of Gravity is not accurate in all calculations - his model was superceded by Einstein's relativity, which will in turn be superceded by another theory that refines our understanding of gravity.

Absolute certainty is impossible, since there is always room for new information. This is something that you are going to have to become comfortable with if you want to approach science properly, rather than insisting on the shallow semantics of words like "law" and "theory".

  • @UppruniTegundanna

I love you, man. You are the kind of person I could have a milkshake with and a decent conversation, perhaps be friends and invite you to my wedding and stuff. I wish I knew people like you face to face and I wish I weren't stuck with the racist, homophobe, hatemongering humanimals I am stuck with.

  • @2010ksaul God, you're a moron.

  • @anhero23

People like you are the reason atheists get a bad rap. They insult people instead of correcting them, offering them a chance to gain more knowledge.

  • Flagged as racist.

  • @knowwaie Could you please explain why this video is racist and who, in your opinion, it is racist towards?

  • @UppruniTegundanna 0:50 - 2:00 depicts only dark skinned people corresponding to the apes.

  • @knowwaie Piffle! The video is about humanity in general and its relationship to other members of the ape family. Homo sapiens is a species of ape, and this video demonstrates how we display similar behaviour patterns.

  • @UppruniTegundanna Isn't that the truth though? Clearly we would conclude that dark skinned people were the earliest of Homo sapiens.

  • @knowwaie No, contemporary humans are all as modern as one another.

  • @UppruniTegundanna I phrased the question a certain way for a reason. I said. clearly, dark skinned people would have to be the earliest of homo sapiens. We're talking about early homo sapiens, not modern. Isn't that true?

  • @knowwaie I don't know exactly how to answer that because, at some point the lineage that lead to us would have had to shed its hair, underneath which the skin would have been light until, now exposed to light, it would have had to adapt to the hot environment by becoming darker. That's all dark skin is: an adaptation to the conditions that exist near the equator, nothing else.

  • @UppruniTegundanna Oh, so the light skinned chimps were the Jews?... Regardless, i was under the impression that the idea of skin color being determined by the sun was a myth.

  • @knowwaie "Oh, so the light skinned chimps were the Jews?" What a ridiculous statement. This is pretty much the dictionary definition of a non-sequitor. I never mentioned Jews, nor "light-skinned chimps" - I was talking about the lineage that led to Homo sapiens.

Would you care to elaborate on that bizarre opening question?

As for sun/skin-colour, there is a clear gradation of skin-colour, from dark to light as you radiate away from the equator.

  • It was a joke, but still valid.

The point is the same. Except we have broadened characteristics beyond skin color.

I don't know why you wont own up to it. Racism is a reality and nothing to be ashamed of. It shouldn't even be a bad word. All it means is that there are different species of human and some are, in ways, superior to another. The most you can argue is that each race has it's strengths and weaknesses.

Clearly, nature itself is racist. Why deny reality? So feelings aren't hurt?

  • @knowwaie No, racism is nothing more than a human attitude that derives from our tribal nature - and a very destructive attitude at that, not to mention illogical: since there exist no definite boundaries that subdivide humanity into "races", and since there exists an enormous amount of variation within what we call "races", it is nonsensical to attempt to compare them in terms of superiority/inferiority.

So sorry, what you are saying is both wrong and slightly sinister.

  • @UppruniTegundanna That's only because you're sneaking the word "hate" into the definition, which wasn't always there.

Wouldn't you say the sciences are superior to religious dogma?..

  • @knowwaie Science is more accurate than religious dogma; as such I accept that genetics has revealed that the notion of human races is fraudulent. Similarly, I reject religious dogma, such as how the races of man were descended from the sons of Noah - with Africans being marked with the curse of Ham. I reject the Mormon claim that dark-skinned people are cursed, known as Lamanites, and I reject the Nation of Islam belief that white people were created by a black scientist as a "devil race".

  • @knowwaie So by preferring scientific explanations, I reject the notion of "race" as a real thing, while if I folowed a religion, I would be prone to dividiing humanity up into blessed and cursed people on the basis of their skin colour.

  • @UppruniTegundanna That's right, those religious people are nuts. It's almost as if they are a different race, or class... Or whatever you want to call it..

  • @knowwaie No, no one is of a different class. We are all humans, and are all judged according to out behaviour regardless of our religious affiliation. However, an important shift in our moral philosophy is that most of us have ceased to employ "essentialism", or what has been called "the dead hand of Plato" to think about things. I.e. that superficial demographic affiliations don't inform you about the character or virtue of an individual.

  • The point is, with any advancement, technological, ideological, political or what have you. There are always those who do not agree with and will not adopt the new standard. They are primitive in your view, are they not?

I think you're trying too hard to avoid a fact of life with flimsy semantics. Future outlook doesn't change the current situation.

I want to see you admit that third world countries are, in effect, primitive in comparison to the more developed or evolved nations. Not true?

  • @knowwaie The original definition of Third World was nations that weren't aligned with either capitalist or communist nations. In a modern context, it is true that Third World countries do not have as advanced a technological infrastructure as so-called First World countries. However, why would that cause one to hold a different opinion about the human beings that inhabit those nations? It is inevitable that advancement will happen at different rates in different places in the world.

  • @knowwaie Incidentally, this would be true whether or not human beings are related to other modern day apes. Could you tell me what your views on race are, please? You seem to be advocating the view that humanity is sub-divided into races, which can furthermore be organised into a hierarchy based on superiority/inferiority. Is this the case? If so, you are racist - however, you say "Racism is a reality and nothing to be ashamed of", so you shouldn't be offended by my conclusion.

  • @knowwaie Since you believe that "Racism is a reality and nothing to be ashamed of", why did you flag my video as racist in the first place?

  • @UppruniTegundanna I didn't really. I was just trolling along.

  • @knowwaie OK, I wasn't 100% convinced that you actually did flag. But in any case, what is the purpose of your comments on this video?

  • @UppruniTegundanna If anyone else had made this video they would be threatened by the ACLU.

  • @knowwaie No they wouldn't.

  • @UppruniTegundanna If Jessy Jackson saw it, then yes they would. And when i say "anyone else" i mean, from any other perspective.

I thought this was implied with no need to explain.

  • @UppruniTegundanna Oh, you're from the U.K. You probably aren't familiar with how the ACLU operates. Let me just send this video over to them and see what they think...

  • @UppruniTegundanna And that's Reverend Jesse Jackson. Oh you're so fucked. I'm sending this right over to him.

  • @knowwaie But I don't understand why the skin colour of early humans would have any relevance to anything, except as an indicator of the conditions that early humans emerged in. Skin colour says nothing about the value or dignity of any human.

On the basis of what you are implying, would you think that it would be acceptable to be racist towards white people if it were found that early humans had white skin?

  • @knowwaie And why focus on skin-colour? If it were found that early humans were mainly left-handed, would that license the belief that contemporary left-handed people were somehow unworthy of respect?

  • @UppruniTegundanna You should not have fed the troll.... That "joke" about Jews? What was that?

  • I've watched this again this morning, the first time for months. It is simply marvelous. There are a few videos out there which show artistry, honesty, and a deep respect for, and appreciation of, science and nature. This is one of the very best of those.

    Thank you again.

  • At least 43 ppl are either dumb as fuck or in denial

  • Dang....that is friggin awesome.

  • Great video but I wish it would explain why the male of the species is the destructive one.

  • @hwame Males traditionally fight for mating with all the females. The more agressive and strong male, the more chance of becoming alpha-male. This primal inpulse of male agression (controlled with male hormones) gets out of hand in modern world as it has lost its purpose for mating. But instinct stayed, therefore males organize and act hostile towards other grops of males (countries). Just like 2 ant colonies kill each other when they meet.

  • @hypercub Thank you. That makes a lot of sense.

  • Theist: I AIN'T COME FROM NO MOUNKEY! I IS PURFICTLY DEZINED IN GAWDS IMAGE!

Atheist: hey bro, calm down. you wanna banana?

Theist: I SHUR DOO!... GAWD MADE DEES BY THE WAY...

Atheist: Umm. no, he didn't. Man made this...

Theist: NO! STOP TAKIN THE CREDIT DAT BELONGS TA GAWD!...

    Atheist:.. Here's proof man...

Theist: WELL GAWD DON GAVE DA MAN DA KNOW-LEDGE OWN HOW TA MAKE DA BANANA!!!!

Atheist:...... (thinking) wow, I guess some of us just haven't fully evolved quite yet..

  • @javonne

Misleading as there are theists embracing evolution.

  • @007rosin I'm well aware of this, but even in their embracing of Evolution, they fail to realize that the theory of evolution is in DIRECT conflict with their religion. The story of Adam and Eve is CRITICAL to understanding the religion.

the fact that Theists embrace the theory of Evolution is the result of their desperate attempt to stay in the game. the theory of evolution is incompatible with the belief in the god of the bible.

  • @javonne The Pope doesn't think so...

  • @JRD123456 fuck the pope

  • @javonne

Probably should be 'creationist' rather than 'theist'. The man featured at the end of this video, Kennith Miller, is a theist.

  • most of the fuzzy fellows in the video are probably smarter than most creationists. i know theyre all smarter than george bush!!

  • Quite LITERALLY the best video i've seen. Constant chills down my spine as i watched.WELL DONE. After watching this video, and you STILL can't admit that evolution is correct... well lets hope natural selection takes its course and that kind of brain defects is filtered out of the human species.

  • great video,

i like that part there it looks like Bush sends monkeys to war :D
