I went to Scotland last year. It was freezing and rained non-stop. The only food was haggis, deep fried Mars Bars and shortbread & everyone is fat. All the men are transvestites & the women look like men. I couldn't understand a word anyone said & everyone had false teeth. Most of Scotland is sparsely habited due to the midge plague. Most children have MS due to the appalling weather & the oldest person is 50-years-old. I couldn't sleep due to the 24-hour-a-day bagpipe playing. Avoid.

Greatest movie of the last 25 years, period. Excellent story, fantastic cinematography, superior acting and moving score. In the same class as The Godfather or Star Wars. I was lucky enough to watch it on the big screen and remember being swept up from the first scene when he walks in to his entire village being hung inside a barn. Thank you Mel Gibson.

Braveheart is my all time favourite movie. I can remember when it came out we had a very patriotic teacher in primary school who let us watch part of the movie as a treat and she had us singing our national anthem in a line and everything. Lots of great memories with this film and it never grows old for me. @X3n0cBG It doesn't sound like Scotland though. We're not particularly forested there aren't any 'huge' plains in particular - though there are mountains right enough.
@X3n0cBG Most of the south is hilly country with valleys and there are some flat areas nearer the coast but no vast plains. The Central Lowlands are mostly flat but are also quite industrialised and heavily populated. Again this is not a huge area. There is a narrow strip of flat farm land up the east coast and most of the rest of the north of the country is mountainous or at least hilly.
@Dragon2LvlX The film is based on a novel by Randall Wallace. He himself used as a base for his story the 18thC version of a 15thC Scottish epic poem. The poem was a piece of historical faction. The general sweep of the story is real enough (ie the English occupation, Wallace's rebellion and eventual execution) but much of the detail and events are historicall innacurate. Braveheart doesn't keep true to the poem never mind real history.

I can remember when it came out we had a very patriotic teacher in primary school who let us watch part of the movie as a treat and she had us singing our national anthem in a line and everything. Lots of great memories with this film and it never grows old for me. This wee video you've made is a great tribute and tops up my Braveheart requirement when i dont have time to watch the whole movie! Thank you! x

I was 5 when i watched this in cinema with my parents i remember when i had to hold my eyes closed for sex scene ;) but i could see all the killing no problem hehe parent logic,this movie will always be number one.

@X3n0cBG Most of the south is hilly country with valleys and there are some flat areas nearer the coast but no vast plains. The Central Lowlands are mostly flat but are also quite industrialised and heavily populated. Again this is not a huge area. There is a narrow strip of flat farm land up the east coast and most of the rest of the north of the country is mountainous or at least hilly.

@Dragon2LvlX The film is based on a novel by Randall Wallace. He himself used as a base for his story the 18thC version of a 15thC Scottish epic poem. The poem was a piece of historical faction. The general sweep of the story is real enough (ie the English occupation, Wallace's rebellion and eventual execution) but much of the detail and events are historicall innacurate. Braveheart doesn't keep true to the poem never mind real history.
