This negative attitude is in many music forms. If there is a band/group that is all female they do not get the same attention or records sells as all male bands/rappers. I'm not a fan of todays rap, old school rap yes! and since I have a love for all types of music genre it is easy to see this is a major problem for females in music period.
Thank you for addressing this. In the 90's, there were at least 5 female rappers you can count on hand . Now there is less than two. Not all Women are the same and it is a shame that with all this diversity among different types of Woman, they are not being represented. At least You tube gives use the opportunity to be seen.
i FEEL WHERE U CUMMIN FROM... AS FAR AS A TEMPLATE, FEMALES SHOULD UNIT FOR A FEW PROJECTS, PUT OUT WHAT THEY WANT THE WAY THEY WANT BATTLE 4 A TITLE. PUT THAT PROJECT TOGETHER WITH BLACK GIRLS THAT ROCK. THAT WILL BRING PERFOMANCES & ADVERTISMENT COLLABORATIONS & NETWORKING... YOU JUST THE PERSON TO MAKE THAT HAPPEN.
Do you want to hear a new female and not the beef? Go to YouTube and search for shortieTHEversifier. the truth, which will change the face of female rhyming. Not a rapper a Mc. Each one reach one, tell one other person for me. LIVE FREE. LOVE HARD. AND DIE TRYING
Its not just supporting any female rapper. Its supporting female rappers who have substance in what they're talking about. Who is an individual in her own right who have talent and individuality. A rapper who don't follow trends and talks about uplifting and seeking not only the truth within the "woman's world" but the average person despite her being a woman. A woman who signifies and proclaims a self of indenpendence and ask people to do so.
One thing I see a lot with female rappers are accusations of ghostwriting. When a girl drops a good verse it seems like everyone scrambles to find the nearest guy to give credit to.
Also, there's often a double standard involving sex, cause I see a lot of female rappers being dismissed when they're sexual, while male rappers aren't
