Roll in to the corner, wait until you're straight before gasing it. Half the time you rolled in too slow and about mid way through the corner you realised you were going too slow, and got back on the throttle early (at least you can notice it). Blip the downshifts and roll in hot, you'll slow down through the corner and you'll know when you've done it right because you wont dare put your foot down until you're straight.
@macka311 After countless spin outs in corner entry, this method of driving seemed to work well. The MR platform has excellent midcornering grip, and you can start accelerating before the corner apex without worry of understeering at the exit. It gives the car the characteristic that it's sling shotting out of the corner. The MR-S I had for about 4 years could definitely come in faster with much more stability. Anyhow, 9 years of driving MRs was enough. I'm having a blast in my 2011 WRX. :)
@skyungjae I don't understand how you can spin on entry? If you over cook it (roll speed wise) into a corner, you'll do one of two things.
The rears with break traction and you'll effectively four wheel slide past your intended apex, or you'll merely understeer or "push" past your apex.
You're car may seem to "sling shot" out of the corner, but it's an illusion. The fact the your car allows you to accelerate mid corner is a sure indication that you have available grip at your disposal.
@macka311 I'm sorry that you don't understand. I guess all I can say is that things that should work well in theory often don't translate to the real world as well as one would expect them to.
@macka311 It's cool. Just speaking from experience myself. This just happened to worked for me. I'm just not as good as you, nor do I aspire to be. Thanks for the tip.
@macka311 I think the confusion here may be car specific. The MR2 had a slight design flaw which caused sudden snap oversteer when not under throttle mid corner, or especially if you lift off mid corner. On a track, i think you are right, and the consequences of spinning out are minimal. but on the road, its more important not to spin out. Entering the corner slower and then using the phenomenal mid corner grip of the MR2 to slingshot out of the corner is a legitimate driving technique.
lol TBC! Nice run, but with ALL that done to your suspension setup, you REALLY could have gone a lot quicker. Understeer seems to be bogging you down heavily too.
nice video, it seems as you were going out of the canyon scene as i was entering. i used to drive a white camry up there, but i don't remember seeing you.
Pretty cool. How do you like your nrg wheel? I might consider replacing my old momo with it. And are you running the Quick release hub with the long momo hub or the slim nrg one?
The slim hub and quick release are good to go, but their steering wheels aren't nearly as nice as a real MOMO. This goes for all their steering wheels, but if you have a hook up, it's worth the price.

@skyungjae Hey man, I was just trying to help you improve your driving. I race cars for a living, so no, its not just a theory I have come up with.

haha..sa'll good man, I feel you.

It seems like you have way to much stroke on the front suspension. Maybe try stiffening it to cut some time.
