When I listen to videotape, I think of a person that is about to die. Like one of those videos someone makes just before they die beginning with, "if you are watching this, i am most likely dead", etc. "When i'm at the pearly gates." Correct me if i'm wrong, but that sounds like Heaven.

Videotape, to me, represents a certain amount of acceptance, even in regret, that we didn't see on the past albums. Just plot their albums chronologically and listen to the sound. It's a beautiful progression, and Videotape remains their jewel sitting upon it all.
