  • "Is God all-powerful but he doesn't care about the people in Japan - or - He does care about the people in Japan but he is not all-powerful ?"

He is all-powerful and he cares ! Satan is the prince of this world, so the pain, the suffering and the death will remain until Jesus come back.

Oh and by the way, Rob Bell is a false teacher.

  • I believe what Rob Bell tries to convey is that you don't know a person's heart. What exactly does it mean to follow Christ? Do we know for certain who does and who doesn't? Nothing wrong with raising questions.

  • HERETIC!!!!!! Read Revelations over and over again! God's ways are not our ways. His thoughts are not our thoughts. Stop trying to think of what you would do, and read the scriptures for yourself. God doesn't do anything the way you would do. I wouldn't send fire serpents to hurt my children. God did in Exodus. I wouldn't kill my son, but God did.

  • I would like to point out that he is no longer in Mars Hill. The elders, including Mark Driscoll, do not agree with his heresy, just want to point that out. haha. Now that being said, this is a false gospel. It's just....no. Read the Bible and it should be clear that once you die, that's it. If you follow God, He welcomes you as His faithful servant, if you reject Him, or if you are fake and just acting, He will say He never knew you and you're not coming in.

  • Stupid question, dumb answer. God is angry with the wicked every day. Psa. 7:11

Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain. Psa. 76:10

Hell is real, which Mr. Bell denies, and your anger in the Lake of Fire will glorify God. It was Jesus who spoke more about Hell than all of the prophets! He created it. He should know! Rob Bell is irrelevant! You can't have love without justice. There must be a consequence for sin, or God is not loving.

  • Rob Bell=Heretic

  • This guy gives me the creepers... He gives me the impression that he had a tough time fitting in as a kid, so he just started his own deal... He smiles to much when he is being challenged... He doesn't answer the questions directly. He just totally creeps me out, spiritually. Sorry if I'm being judgmental, but that is just the way it is...

  • lol haha you think demons are saved sorry son they arnt last time i checked they were angles (past tense) but that got kicked out of heavan have you read your bible Son... God is the king of kings and lord of lords he created the universe and everything in it mankind just decides to make it harder for themselves if you have anyquestions for me just ask love to chat

  • @timguzman1 we got kicked out of the garden of paradise, but God has invited us back through Jesus Christ our saviour. How do you know for certain God would not invite a fallen angel back? Does he not love them as he loves us, though we are all fallen?

  • @waynie11 I did not say that they cant be saved and yes adam and eve have been kicked out of the garden of eden, I beleive God loves everyone and that if they do ask for forgiveness that he will accept them, now if you look at even people who do not accept christ as lord and savior they will not enter into the kingdom of God im just giving you what the bible says but i have no athority to tell you that you or i are going to hell for shure because i am not God and cant make that decision,

  • @waynie11 God loves the sinner but God is a just God

  • For me being here on earth is for my deeper understanding... It has nothing to do with me and my ability about salvation. Even demons are saved...

  • If anything, he has done an excellent job of dancing around the question, however, the question is loaded and the answer would require a third option. But it is comical to see two men discuss things they are ignorant of.

  • @FoodMoTron3k i agree with you to a degree but i feel the interviewer is merely asking questions about his beliefs and not necessarily trying to pose a philosophical argument. and i really personally don't think that this is even a loaded question. the answer is riddled in the bible, in my honest opinion.

  • jackass

  • This is sad. Rob Bell is severely lost and his presence on this show sheds a horrific light on true Christians.

  • notice at 4:56 how he said i`m a pastor!!!!!! i`m sorry but 2 me that sounded a little arrogant!!!!!!! so what does that mean i`m better than God and everyone else!!!!!!!! maybe i`m wrong!!!!!!!!

  • @PooleSilly You're right, that WAS incredibly arrogant! This guy is a wolf in sheep's clothing if I've ever seen on!

  • no Rob Bell, it's not a paradox best left at the divine. The answer is in the Bible.... read it.

  • @migol1984 you read it. and tell us all where the answer is. cause there is none.

  • @seanstrnad when adam and eve ate from the tree of knowledge they'd given the keys to their eternity to the devil. hebrews chp 2 talks about this and peter also makes reference in Acts that when Jesus died he went to hell and took the keys of the empire of death. what we see today in this world is what we've created. remember that God said, "subdue the earth and multiply." this chaos in this world, is our working.

  • @migol1984 Nowhere does the bible say Jesus went to Hell when He died. The payment for our sin was God's wrath being poured out on Jesus, the innocent sacrifice. I believe He went to Abraham's bosom and set the captives free. :-)

  • @sammyze76 so who's in abraham's bosom?

  • @seanstrnad i want you to pay close attention because i'm actually taking the time to explain this to you. and it's not easy. i've lost sleep over this so many times. the bible is filled with riddles that it encourages us to find. Provers says it this way, " let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance—

6 for understanding proverbs and parables, the sayings and riddles of the wise.[b]"

  • @seanstrnad the tree of knowledge of good and evil is vital for us to understand how it all came about but it's also a riddle into why there's evil in this world. there is evil because we humans created it. pay very close attention to what the serpent told eve,"surely you will not die, for in the day you eat from that tree you will become like GODS, knowing right from wrong."

  • @migol1984 Wait a minute. So in spite of the incredible evidence that we have come along after billions of years of evolution, you still actually believe that two people were running around naked with God at one time until a snake came along and told them to eat the magical fruit? Really?

  • @seanstrnad there's many things you've yet to learn my friend. i could believe in the metaphorical story of adam and eve and i could still probably believe in it literally. i could also believe in evolution and yet it wouldn't matter if i believe in the genesis story literally or metaphorically. i could believe in all those things, some of those things or none of those things. it still wouldn't make a difference. a question was posed and i answered the question. so what is your point?

  • @migol1984 UM, how did you answer the question? If evolution is true, then the answer to the question of good and evil is quite different than that which appears in the Genesis myth (which absurdly blames all suffering in the world on human free will).

  • @seanstrnad if evolution is true, still even then all the suffering in the world is to be blamed on human free will. think my friend. the bible poses an analogy (i.e. riddle). it doesn't have to be taken literally. the analogy/riddle explains we're trying to find our way to complete awareness. the genesis story was written thousands of years ago to a very nomadic and superstitious people. it had to be dummed down to a degree they'd understand a very philosophical and spiritual lesson.

  • @seanstrnad but if your argument is that there is no free will, and/or all suffering in the world is not always caused by humans i.e. tsunamis then that's entirely different. i can't prove to you if there is free will or not. however, if you argue that there is no free will then you'd be pressed to find that physicist michio kaku would disagree with you. my objective is understanding the bible as best as i can.

  • @seanstrnad so in hopes of not deviating from the original discussion altogether, i think i've done a fair job showing you what parts of the bible rob bell has apparently missed out on to answer the question if God cares and is all powerful then why is there still evil. the bible teaches those things. you've just gotta think a bit harder. most skeptics simply don't bother. in all fairness, even if the bible is complete myth it is still compelling and i feel we could all learn from it.

  • @seanstrnad God confirms this just a few verses after saying, "now man has become like us, knowing right from wrong." the only paradox that there is now lies inside of us: the will to do good. James says, "sin in he that knows to do good but doesn't do it." and this is how sin came about into this world. one man brought it into our bloodline.

  • @seanstrnad now why would God allow such a thing? well, in reality he's not. this is the riddle. the tree of knowledge deals with our minds. remember what i said that the devil took this power from us. read hebrews again, "free those who all their lives were held in SLAVERY BY THEIR FEAR OF DEATH." the devil had us captives through our minds by fear of death. this world is not a reality. cont.

  • @seanstrnad we're being controlled by our minds and that is what Jesus Christ came to deliver us from. and this is why Paul said, "So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." this temporary world is not the reality, the reality is found in Jesus Christ. and just as the israelites did not enter the promise because of their unbelief, so are many people led away from God because of their unbelief. it's all in the mind

  • @seanstrnad therefore to conclude, its not a paradox. God cares and he is all powerful. It's up to us now to believe it and even though this world will turn up in flames at some point, understand that we hope for what isn't seen and our hope is in Jesus Christ who has conquered this world. God has demonstrated his power in the resurrection of Christ. paul also says that Christ made fun of this world we created Col 2:13-15. please read its beautiful.

  • Rob views God like a man, instead of dying to himself and seeing things as an almighty, glorious God does.

That's why "love wins" is HIS desire, not God's. I, too, desire for everyone to be able to escape hell. But God creates it because those who do NOT submit to HIS will DESERVE it.

"Good" is not a law. "Good" is whatever God desires, since, God cannot be under anything if, besides God, there is nothing.

Those who burn in hell say to themselves, "why?", but there is no grace to reassure

  • A hindu bullshiter vs a christina bullshiter?

  • "Bring forth all Non-Jews and slaughter them before me so that their blood washes my feet" Jesus

Jesus came to save the Jews, not to start a religion.

So why are you christians worshiping gods son and not god???

  • @baldurus1 I'm not trying to start a youtube argument, but I would like to know where you're getting your Jesus quote from. Thanks!

  • @TallSocksGang Luke 19:27 It says "Bring my enemies, who didn't want me to be their king. Kill them in front of me" This is the revised King James version, the original said in Hebrew "Bring forth all non-Jews(גוי‎, gentiles) and slaughter them before me..."

The have been so many misinterpretations that what was originally conveyed has been lost. Jesus told people to revere his words not to worship him, σέβομαι=revere. But sadly the word σέβομαι was translated to worship.

  • @TallSocksGang "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." This is another great example of completely mistranslate the original, which read "... and the word was FROM god.

Meaning Jesus was the messenger of god, not god.

And who is Jesus praying too all the time? There are over 20 references to Jesus praying, is he praying to himself?

And what about the crucifixion, "father, why have you forsaken me". Who is he talking to?

    Cont.

  • @baldurus1, mistranslation? no. the only reason you distinguish the Word from God is because, as lesser things, we can't imagine anything beyond ourselves. But, God is not a person like a man, in that He's limited and, thus, reliant.

I have heard this illustration. The Father designs, the Son performs the designs, and the Spirit quickens. Jesus is God.

Jesus is praying to the Father.

    The Father.

The reason it is good for

  • @Sudhish86 Then where is the sacrifice?

If you had billions of dollars and wanted to help the poor by giving away all your money, but then you gave all your money to yourself. Where exactly is the sacrifice?

  • @baldurus1, the sacrifice is relative to our will's welfare. The whole purpose of life is for God's pleasure. so, everything ultimately falls under that category. But, since He created other things with wills, and these wills turned from God, and aren't inherently worthy of God cuz of the turning, our souls are not worthy of God unless this world is overcome. we needed God to die in this world to make the things of it nothing. it's still for Himself, but we need it since we exist...

  • @baldurus1, that's not a right analogy. better one:

if we had an inheritance that we rejected, we would perish. If the person who gave it to you knew this would happen, created another account that we could access, had his friend watch over it until we became desperate enough to do whatever the friend was told, we, by the wisdom and mercy of the master, and the obedience of the friend, could access that account.

the master is sacrificing wealth you do not deserve.

  • @Sudhish86 Then the master is an evil dictator not worthy of worship.

With authority comes responsibility. What kind of an idiot leaves a loaded gun with a 2 year old and then punishes the 2 year old and the children and grand children of that 2 year old for pulling the trigger and killing someone? Only a monster. Why would you worship a monster? And why would an omnipotent being require worship? I don't require anyone to worship me, how can i be morally superior to god?

  • @baldurus1, who's rules is the master under? who created the rules from which responsibility exists?

God makes the rules, since besides Him there is nothing. "good" cannot be something above God since, hypothetically, there would still be nothing to exist for this law to exist for.

This is why it is so obvious that the way we first sense "good" is not actually how it is.

With authority comes responsibility because God desires for it to be so. rules for our world don't apply elsewhere.

  • @Sudhish86 Again, why call him good if I a mere mortal am morally superior?

    Am I greater than god?

  • @baldurus1, because you haven't even defined what "morality" is or comes from...

"I am morally superior to God!...even though nothing besides what He wants comes to exist in any way...."

Did you deliberately ignore "who's rules is the master under? who created the rules from which responsibility exists?"

what makes God susceptible to rules for man?

Your thoughts are baseless, meaningless, and self-inflated.

  • @Sudhish86 Because i decide what is moral and immoral, who else could.

I judge the god of the bible to be immoral and not worthy of anyones worship.

I don't condone slavery, rape, pedophilia, murder, forcing rape victims to marry their rapists, infanticide, genocide, torture, infinite punishment for a finite crime, human sacrifice etc. etc. etc.

I am better than god, and i would bet so are you.

Are dictators right to torture their people because they made the rules?

  • @baldurus1, BASED ON WHAT?

what reason do you have to call one thing moral and another thing not?

Also, legally, dictators ARE right, since they obviously make the rules.

You drawing perspective on God (even hypothetically) from your finite existence is invalid. what do you even mean when you say, "God"?

as I said, "goodness"(or morality) cannot exist as something that God would be under.

    again,WITHOUT.GOD.NOTHING.EXISTS.FOR."GOOD".TO.REFER.TO

how do you not get the implication?

  • @TallSocksGang Cont. Is it a sacrifice if god "sacrifices" himself to himself?

He's god, what kind of sacrifice is that?

It would only be a sacrifice if he wasn't god but a man.

  • @baldurus1, God is not a person like man is.

He's dying on earth(and resurrecting) to show how small this world is and to be able to please Himself in the world to come. otherwise, we are still people who turned away from God and are dead to God's standards...unless God fulfills those standards Himself.

  • Why read a book from someone who believes there is no absolute truth?

  • Question - revelation says that only 144,000 souls will enter into heaven. And Christ must return for those souls to enter into heaven. So if the Jews are God chosen people and there are millions of Jews upon the face of the earth, then when Jesus return who do you think he is choose to join him in heaven, and what will happen to the billions of other Christians on earth. Cause the scripture says that those who are left out of heaven will burn in hell for eternity. Just Curious

  • I laughed at the first question.

  • The mormons will love this book.

  • To say that God's love will eventually win everyone is foolish.. Do people like Rob Bell ever think why God doesn't become visible to the world or why does He hide and only give clues of His existence? Because this life is a test!! Will we choose Him through faith or will we not.. The theme in the book of Acts was, how must I get saved? Saved from what? Eternal punishment.. How is it done? Repentance.. If people never hear of Jesus then Romans 2:12-16 applies and they're judged by what they know

  • Interviewer showed his bias by his first question. ;tdown:

  • it blows my mind the stupidity of people and what comes from their mouths without thinking. i had to stop watching after 50 seconds. personally being in the japan earthquake and seeing what has happened here i would have to say that God is all powerful and loves the Japanese very much. 神様ありがとうございます。

  • Dude, the person who interviews had a "your wrong" bias from the beginning... Not a good interview process and I'd say I've lost respect for him as a reporter.

  • No one can prove anything Rob Bell and his followers believe. They no longer follow the entire Scripture, they are no different than any other religion that trys to limit God.

  • @TheLifestreamdotorg It seems like your the one limiting god.

  • This interviewer is being a real jerk.

  • @will2asher The interviewer asked a very good question. Pastor Bell is basically saying the Christ's sacrifice was pointless.

  • @danielross85 He didn't say anything like that. And the interviewer saying "Your defense of scripture of indefinsible. it's true isn't it?" is being a jerk. He wasn't making any specific argument, he was just accusing Rob. And at the beginning, he asks an either/or question implying that it had to be one or the other (and obviously the answer was neither one).

  • @will2asher Forget the interviewer. Bell is saying you don't have to accept Christ. So I ask, what was the point of being crucified?

  • @danielross85 I haven't read his book, but I think that Bell is saying that Jesus' sacrifice paid for the sins of everyone whether they accept him in this life or not. I've heard others say that as well. He isn't denying the fact that "without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins." But I don't nesesarily agree with Rob Bell, and I haven't even read his book. So it's kind of silly for me to argue his case. I only wanted to say that the interviewer is being a jerk.

  • I miss Martin Bashir. I wish he'd come back to the UK.

  • here again.. the moterfucker of bashit

  • The Parable of the Rich man and Lazarus...Jesus own words!

  • TIL Martin Bashir is a confessed Christian.

  • Are people really so opposed to Rob Bell because of what they were TOLD that they are blind to see that he gave GREAT ANSWERS to every question thrown at him? I'm not a Rob Bellist, but he did a great job defending his position!

  • WOW BELL GOT RIPPED, THE TRUTH SHALL MAKE YOU FREE.

  • I disagree with the pastor, the dominant story of the scripture is you must believe in Him. I also disagree with the host saying either God is omnipotent but doesn't 'care' about the people, or he cares, but isn't omnipotent. Suffering will come, it rains on the just & the unjust.

But believe in Christ's finished work on the cross, accept Him as your Lord & Savior and you will escape the wrath that each & EVERY one of us has coming. That's it,not even complicated, so why do people have to add?

  • @mellaLee21 YEAH

  • wow the new guy doesn't seem to be taking him seriously at all and he obviously doesn't believe him. idk about you guys but i comepletely agree with Rob. I think the way God made this Earth bad things are gonna happen - earthquakes will happen, people will die and suffering is inevitable. but the beauty in this God of ours is that he has compassion for us. don't you see it? you can't have love, you can't have beauty without the pain and the ugliness in the world guys.

  • @catiebelle18 and now that doesn't mean he's not all-powerful, it just means that he has a bigger plan that goes beyond this world and our understanding that involves the necessity of injustice. but one thing we can hold on to is that in addition to the bad aspects of the natural world, the balance between good and evil will remain - God makes sure of that. it may sound nuts to you folks but it's not always something we can see. God loves us. his undying love is just that - UNDYING.

  • Wow. Ambush journalism at its finest. I've read the book, it's got holes......however, it's also very informative and thought provoking.

  • That seemed more like a debate than an interview.

Whether one agrees with Bell or not, the host seemed more interested in nailing him than in reporting what he was actually claiming.

  • The interviewer, if your paying attention, catches what Rob Bell does. Tries to question himself out of a question. What I always try to figure out, in which I probably will never have the answer, is why do people like Rob Bell, who have a big following, ask questions that Athiests have asked me many times to try to corner me like "What about people who haven't heard?" What the Word teaches and what is doctrine is "General Revealtion" (Romans 1:20) and "Special Revelation" (Ephesians 3:1-13)

  • I don't think Rob was at worried or "squirmish". Poor title choice for this video.

  • Interviewer seemed kind of harsh - how is someone supposed to answer loaded questions like that? I think Rob did alright.

  • what are you doin rob bell?

  • This is the snootiest, most disrespectful interview I've seen in a long time and Rob handled it the best way he could. Inexcusable.

  • The interviewer is a Christian by the way. He is Presbyterian.

I'm pretty sure he knew what he was talking about, he's reformed, a journalist.

  • Wow terrible False Dilemma Fallacy concerning Japan! Satan has no place here apparently...?

  • Comment removed

  • Wow. Why didn't MSNBC give Obama as much trouble when he was campaigning for president o_O

  • interviewer thinks he's smart. and isn't. just dumb, rude and doesn't listen properly.

  • Jews didn't and do not believe in Hell. Jesus was a Jew. The entire concept of the afterlife has evolved HUGELY from the Old Testament to the New. Who's to say what happens after death? Why don't we all stop arguing about what might be and start bringing the kingdom of heaven to earth now? Let's feed the poor, clothe the naked, and care for the sick. Let's comfort the broken hearted, and extend grace to our enemies.

  • Rob's position is more like a slug than a rock.

  • This is my command: Love each other. :)

  • Love thy neighbor as thyself :)

  • heretic and heresy. This is what happens when Christianity is watered down by "bible based christians" and protestants believing that the holy spirit guides them in interpreting the scriptures. He is leading people to hell.

  • I really like Bashir's use of logic and direct questions that box the "guest" into inescapable corners.

  • Interviewer doesn't understand the straight-forward answer he got, so he repeated the question.

  • P O S T M O D E R N I S M!

  • Martin Bashir is a complete idiot. He asks questions that no one can answer. I don't agree with Bell on quite a few things, but in all the bashing and slandering of his work no one has even attempted to answer the question that he puts forth in the book. If you want to confound the work of Rob Bell, answer how a good God can send people to Hell for eternity over a white lie, a stolen loaf of bread, or an occasional glance at the opposite sex that just happens to be too long.

  • This guy does what each and every christian does, he picks and chooses what verses of the bible he likes, interprets them to his convenience and discard the rest.

  • I don't think Rob Bell knows the word "Hell" or eternal separation from the glory of God.

  • Truth is, Rob bell is trying to make a quick buck before stuff catches up.

  • He does not have an answer..lol. Typical Prot, they run away and change the subject.

  • Pastor....lol. Anybody can be a pastor. Pick up your bible and start your church today :)

Too easy, which is not quiet right.

  • A theologian who is aligned with orthodox Christian teaching and the Biblical doctrine of grace would definitely have answers to all of the questions asked, and would not be afraid to answer them, despite a lack of palatability to some. As scripture says, in 2 Corinthians 2:15-16, "For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, 16 to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life."

  • Rob is a master at subtly suggesting his perspective without stating it outright. He is a fantastic writer. Unfortunately, his perspective is not in line with thousands of years of orthodox Christian teaching or with the gospel of Jesus Christ presented in the Bible, and dancing around issues only works on paper, not in an interview.

  • even the devil used the word of God to tempt Jesus, and from what i see and hear, satan knows the word of God veery well and is using it against us and to confuse us.

  • i just want a clear yes or no answer if he agrees with the Words of Jesus when He said "I am THE Way, THE Truth and THE Life, no one comes to the Father [Heaven] but through me." I wonder how Rob would respond to that...

  • Martin just pretends like these issues matter. He doesn't seem very understandable.

  • Rob Bell Rocks!!!!

  • paradox meaning, RELIGION IS BS

  • This wasn't really an interview so much as an interrogation. The thing about Rob is that I've never found him as a man that gives answers, and i don't think he'd claim to be one. To me he's more of a man that sparks questions and discussion, and that is important. always.

  • @kiddynamo41 But that's just the problem. He rejects anyone who does give answers. Essentially saying that we've never died so we can't know. He's right, I don't know, BUT I have the words of someone who DOES know, namely Jesus of Nazereth, God incarnate. Also, just because there have been various opinions throughout Christian history doesn't mean they are all valid. It doesn't matter how many other Christians have believed something. What matters is what scripture says about it.

  • yikers robby bell! that be some faaaaaalse teaching!

  • lol "which one is it" as if its one of those

  • He's a dark person anyway. I've always seen straight through Bell and seen his wicked soul. It's very sad when a worldly person can see that his "version" of the gospel is rubbish and many so called Christians can't. How sad

  • uh, the same tectonic processes that caused the earthquake in japan created the island in the first place. i mean, you could say the same thing about anything. viruses, tornados, old age, death itself.

you may as well ask 'well why didn't God create a perfect universe where nothing bad ever happens?' and the answer is, He did. It was called Eden.

  • @eleutheromaniac And when was Eden created?

  • @ClamCrunchy Six days ago. 6000 years ago. 13.7 billion years ago. Or maybe it was 100 000 years ago when man migrated north to Euphrates and Tigris rivers. Or is Eden in a continual process of being (re)created, because the very nature of Eden would make it timeless, much like Nirvana or Heaven.

Or perhaps it only exists as a metaphor.

    Opinions vary.

  • @eleutheromaniac Eden wasn't a universe.

  • @chriswonderboy From the perspective of Adam and Eve, it was.

  • @eleutheromaniac Right, it's all about context and how you interpret the Bible to fit how you would like to see the world or universe, I forgot about that, my bad. Sorry to question your knowledge, I should have known that you know exactly what Adam and Eve's thoughts we're and that God talks to you and tells you this stuff. Personally.

  • @chriswonderboy Perception is reality; everything depends on your point of view. I guess that means you live in the douchebag universe. Must suck.

Yes, I have my own interpretation of the Bible, and the intended meaning of its parables. Just as I have my own interpretation of Catcher in the Rye and Thus Spake Zarathustra.

  • @eleutheromaniac No, I just don't live in Pony universe and I don't make up stuff, that's all and tell everybody that my made up stuff is real. About douche... I only pointed out that Eden wasn't a universe. The Bible says garden, not universe and never talks about what perception Adam and Eve had. I'm sure kids would regard me as a douchebag if I we're to tell them that Santa does not exist. Do you believe in Santa too? I'm off to cry now, my existence sucks, just as you gracefully pointed out.

  • @chriswonderboy For Adam and Eve, there was nothing outside of Eden, until after the fall that is; hence, it was their universe.

  • @eleutheromaniac OK, you win. I'm tempted to getting into evidence that shows that Genesis never happened in real life, but when reason and faith collide, faith seems to always "win". This is not the place anyway. I wonder if they we're neanderthals or cro magnons, lol. Now, seriously, I'm not here to discuss. I just pointed out the thing about the universe and I do understand what you mean by Adam and Eve's universe. The universe I know has always been hostile, specially in the beginning.

  • @chriswonderboy I guess you missed the part where I said the Bible is a book of parables.

By the way, the Big Bang is a fairy tail conceived by a Jesuit preist named Georges Lemaître, and held together by non-falsifiable ghosts named Dark Matter and Dark Energy. So don't be so quick to mock other people's beliefs when yours are based on much the same nonsense.

  • @eleutheromaniac I got the part of the parables and you mentioned 2 other books too. Since the Bible is only parables and it's not to be taken literally, then the whole thing is just a story which does not deserve to be taken seriously. Is there a God? No idea.

I never mentioned the Big Bang and I have no idea if the Big Bang is true or not. I do believe in the fact of evolution. Many priests we're great scientists btw. I didn't mock you. Don't be so quick to play the persecuted christian card.

  • I believe he's saying:We need to open our heart to Jesus on earth. But when someone dies.if they don't believe in Christ or haven't been preached Christ then how can we say they're in hell. What about people that meet Christ in heaven or are lifted out of a hell experience after dying on the operating table? There are more things in God's mind that we can ever imagine. He is just saying he thinks out of the box. However believers must preach Christ as Savior.Believe in Love. For God is love.

  • Oh so that because WE shed a tear, God will? (as said by Rob Bell) Does that make US the creator and He the created, that he should bow and follow after our every human, selfish, self-righteous whim? No!

  • sorry for interviewer to have to ask the same question 3 times

  • If everyone could be won and in going to heaven, then what are we even doing here? What's the point? We might as well close up shop and go to heaven!

  • Robb Bell uses negative provoking statements like this to draw attention to his writings. Good marketing tactics. Of course the basis of his content is empty and baseless. You have to ignore the entire book of Acts and the teaching of the Apostles in order to accept his teachings.

  • Rob handled that asshole very well. I don't agree with everything Rob thinks but it's impressive to see him not be frustrated by close minded individuals.

  • Comment removed

  • Rob lives in my town, and let me tell you, he is very unpopular here. But that's why the counter culture here goes to that church, because it is controversial. I see a ton of "love wins" bumper stickers.

  • For love is joy, and happiness. Through sadness comes love, and through love comes joy, and happiness. The love has been given, Jesus. Don't let it pass you, love is patient. It is waiting for you, God is waiting.

  • what part of once to die and then the judgement does he not understand ????????????

  • GOD HATES JAPAN

  • @GODH8ZZ Get your gay ass back to the Westboro Cult asshole, Mr Freddy needs some servicing. NOW! lol

  • What kind of interviewer asks questions by producing a scathing statement, asks "that's true, isn't it?" in an interrogating tone, and then doesn't let the interviewee speak?

This is insane. What an absolutely terrible interview.

  • Interviewer was kinda a doushce, I think he mighta had a rod stuck up his butt or something ... he seemed uncomfortable and unhappy lol

  • There are a lot of people responding to me about a prior comment. It seems to me that a lot of these people are upset with Rob and I don't think they have even read his book. How can you be upset over someone's opinion without ever hearing it for yourself. It is a dangerous game to not do your own research into things. Be careful who you follow. I read his book personally and the main thing I got from it is it is okay to ask questions concerning eternity.

  • If God doesn't understand our sincerity of heart to search for Him and figure things out and is the kind of God that says "Yeah, you tried to seek me out but you got it wrong, sorry but you're going to hell", that's not the kind of god I ever want to follow. I don't agree with some of the things Bell says, but I think his heart is in the right place. Passing around faux pas bullshit Christianese terms doesn't help, save or convince anybody. It's an immature game of king of the hill. No one wins.

  • Martin Bashir, along with other "theologians", deciding on God's behalf who will experience the grace of God....

"Let the children come to me, do not hinder them" Mk 10:14.

Grace is what saves, not perfect theological or historical understanding. If that were the case, we'd all be screwed, I believe.

  • 2 Timothy 4:3...sorry--

  • For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

  • What really gets me about this segment is that Bell is not saying anything new in his book, but the interviewer and other critics are either so disingenuous as to ignore it or so ignorant as to not know it.

  • The Bible isn't "speculation". Heresy isn't faith. If the Bible isn't the final word on any spiritual subject, then it's each to his own....heresy.

  • all these false leaders is being exposed for who they are and by the world! that is bad. but people like him joel osteen and so on is bein put on news cast and when they have a chance to defend the gospel and give a hope to the world who so needs Jesus they do the exact opposite.

  • MSNBC=the socialist channel

  • @TheSteeletube And you're an expert on socialism and all things socialist how, exactly? Or are you just another talking head who has to get some snarky right-wing talking point in there?

  • Rob Bell needs to stop trying to please the Christian crowd by agreeing that a loving would send anyone to hell. He clearly believes that WE are all God in unity. When we Cry God cries. Its also a possibility that he has no idea what he is talking about. I hope the best for this man. I hope he can leave the lies that the Roman Catholic church has passed down to the protestant churches and other churches

  • Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD.

17They say still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.

  • @revelationow Seems like it's more "Thus saith the guy who chooses verses out of content."

  • heresy

  • Rob bell is speaking the language of God and the interviewer doesn't understand what he's saying at all.

  • i sorta disagree with rob bell, but the interviewer is real jerk, he should be ashamed of himself

  • I think its hysterical that he's talking about OTHER Christians "building whole dogmas about when we die." That's exactly what you've done, Rob Bell, and for you the gloom of utter darkness has been reserved.

  • Think Rob did well considering the guy was ignoring him and just trapping him...

  • EVERYONE CAN BELIEVE WHATEVER THEY WANT! There is no "right" answer! People you need to get livessss and keep your thoughts to yourself.

  • @fattycat2010 So then we can believe that everything you just said is wrong and we can express our beliefs as we like. Good, thatnks for the self defeating statement.
