could you make a toutorial...i am about to build one and i need to know how to do it. you dont have to rebuild one just say how you made it and hooked it up and how did you cut the wood?
just cut the wood on a table saw and glue the box together. then i stained it with polyurethane. then drill holes for the switches and use a jig saw to cut other openings. i had to make a bracket to mount the radio to the box. this bracket will all depend on how the radio wants to mount. usually its easy to make. then wire it hot from battery to radio hot wire and to switch. switch gets wired to wire that should only be hot when key is on in car.
all negative wires get tied to the negative side of the battery. wire speakers and amp if you used a amplifier other than the radio itself. Adjust amp if used and youre done. dont forget you need an antenna for the radio
that is why i have the switch to turn off the output. its only turned on while charging and then when im done charging i turn the switch off. if you are using it for dc in, the only time that is hot is when the 12 volt source is physically connected.
in this one i just used scrap plywood. my other radio i used cabinet grade plywood. i just took 1 x 1 and trimmed them down a little and made a frame. then i cut the plywood and glued it on. i put the glue on and nailed it together with finishing nails. this helps add strength and hold it together tight until the glue dries
good boombox, well made, good sound, maybe if you used separate woofer, midrange and tweeter then it might not vibrate as much . ive just built one myself and tried the same system you have to start with and it buzzed at high vols , ended up with two way ported system and its buzz free. take a look at my attempt and post your views, its my first attempts at uploads so bear with it lol, demarcuss
at full volume maybe 3 amps if that depending on the radio, but i dont see more than five. plexy glass prob would cut down on the weight, but its prob going to cost a lot more than wood.
i thought of building one myself wouldnt the use of plex-glass take off a lot of weight? I was wondering how the tuner presets could hold memory, I got some ideas on that with youre vidios but I am wanting to put the power supply actualy in the box, how many amps would the system draw I'm not thinking of placing a inbord amplifier just radio four speakers line inputs and outputs on the back of the box. What do you think?
Nice man I made something similar. I like it

the black dudes near my neighborhood build those with 15 inch woofers and ride them hooked to the back of adult trycycles.

Hey bud, what are those drivers?
I'd like to make my own for my shop, and those speakers sounded good and look nice.
Thanks
