This world is weird. It is okay to talk about the multiverse when you are "educated". Anyone who talks about it and say they are spiritual, will be called a freak or a new ager. The truth is that so many have stolen from the new age movement and put an "educated" twist on it. This means you are nothing more than a copy cat. In other words misleading people behind a title.
@TheWakeUpBroadcast It's not enough to just through out subjective philosophical theories. Theoretical physicists also need to be able to fully describe their theories mathematically. Anyone can produce a wide variety of theories, but to have your theory about the cosmos be even vaguely interesting in scientific terms, you must have the math on your side. I don't think you'll be able to find many 'spiritual' theories about the cosmos that were actually conceived from studying the universe.
Kudos to Greene for his ability to bring these complex ideas down to layman terms. The counter-argument is also done just as well by Miles Mathis. Plus, the Electric Universe is becoming serious contender vs the standard model (ie. big bang, expanding universe, black holes). It's truly incredible how difficult it is to know the universe. Though I'm humbled by Greene's intel, it should not be taken lightly when he readily admits that M-theory is still waiting to be proven by experiment.
What the Brain/Brian Greenes of the world ALL fail to explain as they pursue their THEORY of EVERYTHING, the fine structure constant playing a part in such a theory of everything is ... why does the ancient science called the QaBaLaH have a gematria value of 137.
Why would an ancient theory of everything, the QaBaLaH have appointed, anointed, the number 137 to represent their beliefs?
and the ark is 137 meters long?and the number 7 appears 137 times in the bible?
@islandbuoy4 Let me know when the number 7 appears 137.035999074... times in the Bible. What's next, rounding pi down to 3 and then bringing up all mentions of the number 3 as proof of something other than "coincidence"? Grow up.
Hey, look, this video has 137 likes! Coincidence? I think NOT!
I do not need to round pi down to 3 ya ignorant science nerd. Get the book 'Stonehenge Decoded' by Gerald Hawkins, turn to page 150, the measurements by Alexander Thom professor of engineering science at Oxford, suggest the ancient stone circle builders were in fact trying to geometrically lay out an ASYMMETRICAL pi = 3.

The Kabbalah and the 5000 year old I-Ching thus qualify, along with the many various creation texts called 'bibles', too bad most folks are too ignorant to see the obvious. AND IF YOU BELIEVE in a GOD, (to whom it may concern) then guess what?
ALL of the coincidences are in FACT EVIDENCE of the underlying UNITY.
Charles DUHwin and Richard DUHkins, DUH fellas, science is on a learning curve
Is Mathematics a discovery or an invention? Certainly, it can seem uncanny how some piece of obscure mathematics has been there to facilitate some new and revolutionary extension in physics. But this is not really surprising. Physics is constrained by the "what is". Mathematicians can, and have, let their minds run wild for millennia. Einstein found an obscure body of math ready to adapt for use in GR. Great. Math is wonderful. But there's no reason to think all math describes a real universe.
Regarding Nosek's "Ultimate Multiverse"... the problem he was trying to solve is valid. But the result, while novel, is a bit of a cop out. If the existence of many, most, or all of his universes can never be experimentally tested in any way, what does it mean to say they are real? It's one thing if a solid theory in physics, which has survived all the many tests thrown at it, also necessarily implies a multiverse. But to invent them for aesthetic appeal? Pure navel contemplation. Science FTW!
Could the multiple dimension or parallel universes of String Theory be future possibilities of what might happen within our one three dimensional Universe?
A dynamic Universe of continuous change or creation that we can interact with turning the possible into the actual creating our own future!
i honestly believe that if one of the two of them were to find the theory of everything it would be kaku but Brian has that way of explaining things so that everyone can understand it
@AdrenalineFRAP Brian is much better then Kaku regarding properly distinguishing between what is experimental fact, what is experimentally tested theory, and what is only hypothesis as he speaks. Kaku often gets carried away, and forgets to say, "Oh, BTW, everything I've been saying for the past 15 minutes is the sheerest of speculation".
........and the evidence for the Multiverse is where? What proof is there that hidden dimensions are strings? Why not triangles or rainbows..... they are just as valid. Is M theory even falsifiable? Last time i checked M theory had 11 dimensions or was it 10 or 7... they keep changing... which is fine, but if you cant solve a problem with what we know is valid... adding another dimension is cheating....might as well add god to the equation.
@ManyInfiniteComments I Don't think you watched the whole video... The evidence for the Multiverse is not observational, it's sort of a understood conclusion, there is conclusions that automatically pop into the mind when we perform experiments like the spinning ball experiment, and observe quantum fluctuations, and things like black holes. So there is no absolute certainty as of right now.God can't be added to the equation, because it's logically infallible to assume infinite intelligence.
@treasuredroperX Good Point, but science is dependent upon valid evidence not IFs. Again, what proof is there that extra dimensions are strings? I'm not the only person to point out the lack of evidence M theory proposes. When I said you might as well add god to the equation that is equivalent to adding another unproven dimension. The funny thing about black holes is that they became apparent given the evidence, not the other way around. Not bashing simply asking questions.
@ManyInfiniteComments I know your not, I am also skeptical about this, however I think this theory is pretty valid considering recent observations, quantum fluctuations, black holes leading to who knows where, the gravitational attraction of black holes indicates there is something on the other side, what could it be? Some experiments show, energy out of nothing, the appearance of copied atoms on 2 sides of the observation ect. So it's just a conclusion. No observations have been made... yet.
What if the Universe is expanding away from us but rather than a constant pushing it away its merely speeding up as its been attracted to another Universe/Something out there with tremendous gravitational force pulling it out.
Ie force not pushing from inside out but attracting from outside and universe is speediing up due to this outside gravity source lets call it
@Donal277 Its expanding in all directions. So that would explain it all. One of my more practical thoughts of what it could be, is that its photons hitting other matter and exerting force on it. Picture a pea shooting a brick, if you have enough peas the brick is going to move. The pea shooters would be stars, the bricks would be the galaxies. But as of right now its all speculation. I really need a degree in Theoretical Physics.
i'm a complete novice on physics, infact my first book ou the understanding of the universe was 'the hidden reality' i think i made about 50 pages before i decided to put it down and start at the basics but even so Briane Greene has propelled my interest in the subject(s) and i am inbarcking on an epic journey into the universe....... such facinating facts, theorys and understangs that lead even the simpilct people like myself to open the mind.
