genesis is the poor mans G37. And that 37 driver clearly is not trying, i've driven a G37 and a genesis v6, no comparision the VQ37 is a far superior engine. Not to mention, the G37 looks amazing, while the genesis is a cheap copy of the 37.
Personal opinion. I haven't yet met a G37 or G35 that could outrun me. Granted, I couldn't outrun them either, but that's not the point. You'll see far more heads turning and staring in awe at a Genesis than you will a G37, as well. Not personal opinion, just fact and routine observation. The G is a nice car, though.

A stock G37 can't outrun a V6 Genesis Coupe, but neither can the Genesis outrun the G37. The 20HP difference is countered by the Infiniti weighing alot more.

They're all beautiful cars, but seriously, this is coming from a car buff. Drive a few for a week or so and they're all just like any other car. I was involved with GTA Exotics a lot a few years ago and used to take out all their cars. Great vehicles, every single one, but you start to sort of go "meh" after a while. I would say the more important thing here is the top-of-the-line Genesis coupe still costs about $6,000 less than the (base) G37. Both great cars regardless.

This video is more about the driver (which in this case the guy who put his car in D won) and how the guy in the G failed to launch his car correctly or whatever he was trying to do that stopped him from keeping up off the line
The kid driving the G37s was beeping the horn and couldnt shift, it was pretty easy to this.....I have the same exact G37s and I know my stock car is faster than the Genesis, i've raced them. 330 HP at the fly wheel, around 300 at the wheels...much more power, although slightly heavier.....still takes the cake!!
What a lying piece of s****! Also all stock G37 dyno's ~260-270 whp. All you have to do is search on g37 dyno on Youtube, and there's plenty of it on youtube. You lose much more than 30hp on a rear-wheel car. G37 also weighs ~150lbs more. Don't know the gearing, but both cars are comparable that it pretty much comes down to drivers.
I know Hyundai has been plagued to be recognized as the auto manufacturer with cheap cars with low quality parts and low resale value, but honestly, the Genesis really was a game-changer for Hyundai. I mean, the fact that it comes stock with Brembo calipers tells you something. I still love my G35 more...but this car from Hyundai is actually very good.
Oh, and this is probably a minimal thing, but my stock radio in my Infiniti did NOT come with Bluetooth A2DP...the Genesis, however...does.

Heck my neighbors 2010 135 bmw brand new beat my brothers 370Z by 2 cars in a 1\4, at a track, 5x's.... The Genesis is a pretty good car. It looks sporty and it's a V6 with plans of making a 6.0 V8 version. Hyundai is making a lot of positive improvements.Add a turbo to these Genesis cars and they move.
Both awesome cars - but if I HAAAAD to choose - I would choose the G, simply because I own a G35 and it has been one of my favorite cars since they came out!!
@dieprideman ask your brother to list both of your cars. A buyer looking for used will NOT take your turbo 2.0, knowing that you've driven the car hard off the line (which you probably have since it's a turbo). The buyer will pay more for your brothers car...the Nissans are made to be abused.
@blineguy kelley blue book lists the car at around 21 grand I paid 25.3k for an Rspec dude . Its a car you always have to compensate for loss the moment you drive it off the lot. The car also comes with turbo built in, its usually cars with aftermarket turbos that you should worry about purchasing because its been integrated into an engine not built for turbo initially. My bro's g37 is like 43grand when you include dealer fees, taxes and packages so a buyer better pay up lol
@dieprideman That's true, definitely Mercedes and Porsche. I own a 2008 G37S Coupe and it's a completely different setup than a 2.0T Genesis. For the price, a fully loaded Genesis Coupe 3.8 V6 is approaching the price of a G37S base. I'm sure if you ask any driver out there, it's cheaper than a 335i coupe, with similar specs (the LSD helps a lot), Japanese import, and does not use cheap plastic parts. Not to mention resale value is one of the highest out there.
@alexlugovoy ask any technician out there that has worked for brands such as KIA and they'll tell you. Cheap parts under the hood. Yes, they give you a lot for your money, but it won't last very long. Don't just look at specs, any monkey can look that up online. Drive both cars and see for yourself. Honestly, I'd pay the few thousand more for Infiniti badging. That's quality and service.

Id take my genesis over his overpaid nissan any day lol...In my opinion these are college guys cars especially when my school is saturated with them not to mention infinities and mustangs. Are you also aware of the 2013 genesis coupes that making its debut in 2012? the 4cyl is 275 with the v6 at 350hp. I'm not bashing infiniti but if i want "quality and service" id get a merc or porsche

all "knowledge" of which car is faster aside, I think you all should take a look at what happened off the line. Guy in the Infiniti had a horrible start. This video is more about the driver (which in this case the guy who put his car in D won) and how the guy in the G failed to launch his car correctly or whatever he was trying to do that stopped him from keeping up off the line

The kid driving the G37s was beeping the horn and couldnt shift, it was pretty easy to this.....I have the same exact G37s and I know my stock car is faster than the Genesis, i've raced them. 330 HP at the fly wheel, around 300 at the wheels...much more power, although slightly heavier.....still takes the cake!!

What a lying piece of s****! Also all stock G37 dyno's ~260-270 whp. All you have to do is search on g37 dyno on Youtube, and there's plenty of it on youtube. You lose much more than 30hp on a rear-wheel car. G37 also weighs ~150lbs more. Don't know the gearing, but both cars are comparable that it pretty much comes down to drivers.

I know Hyundai has been plagued to be recognized as the auto manufacturer with cheap cars with low quality parts and low resale value, but honestly, the Genesis really was a game-changer for Hyundai. I mean, the fact that it comes stock with Brembo calipers tells you something. I still love my G35 more...but this car from Hyundai is actually very good.
Oh, and this is probably a minimal thing, but my stock radio in my Infiniti did NOT come with Bluetooth A2DP...the Genesis, however...does.

Heck my neighbors 2010 135 bmw brand new beat my brothers 370Z by 2 cars in a 1\4, at a track, 5x's.... The Genesis is a pretty good car. It looks sporty and it's a V6 with plans of making a 6.0 V8 version. Hyundai is making a lot of positive improvements.Add a turbo to these Genesis cars and they move.

@dieprideman ask your brother to list both of your cars. A buyer looking for used will NOT take your turbo 2.0, knowing that you've driven the car hard off the line (which you probably have since it's a turbo). The buyer will pay more for your brothers car...the Nissans are made to be abused.

@blineguy kelley blue book lists the car at around 21 grand I paid 25.3k for an Rspec dude . Its a car you always have to compensate for loss the moment you drive it off the lot. The car also comes with turbo built in, its usually cars with aftermarket turbos that you should worry about purchasing because its been integrated into an engine not built for turbo initially. My bro's g37 is like 43grand when you include dealer fees, taxes and packages so a buyer better pay up lol

@dieprideman That's true, definitely Mercedes and Porsche. I own a 2008 G37S Coupe and it's a completely different setup than a 2.0T Genesis. For the price, a fully loaded Genesis Coupe 3.8 V6 is approaching the price of a G37S base. I'm sure if you ask any driver out there, it's cheaper than a 335i coupe, with similar specs (the LSD helps a lot), Japanese import, and does not use cheap plastic parts. Not to mention resale value is one of the highest out there.

Yes, they give you a lot for your money, but it won't last very long. Don't just look at specs, any monkey can look that up online. Drive both cars and see for yourself. Honestly, I'd pay the few thousand more for Infiniti badging. That's quality and service.

Id take my genesis over his overpaid nissan any day lol...In my opinion these are college guys cars especially when my school is saturated with them not to mention infinities and mustangs. Are you also aware of the 2013 genesis coupes that making its debut in 2012? the 4cyl is 275 with the v6 at 350hp. I'm not bashing infiniti but if i want "quality and service" id get a merc or porsche

They might have inspired at first but they are by no means responsible for the direction the automobile market has taken today, let alone Nissan/Infiniti. Lexus us gives us Park assist, great! Infiniti gives you the worlds first rear view camera! Lexus gives us the best selling hybrid, Infiniti creates the world fastest one etc etc. It goes both ways, Toyota is not the holy grail.

It is shared with nissans partner Renault (renault samsung sm7 ...example) Nissans engines are also not all the same, many are variant's of the same design, but the newer common VQ engine has been in Ward's top 10 engines for almost seven years.
