How in the hell did these guys keep thier composure?? I would have been totally freaking out to the point of a catatonic state of shock!! This is the scariest footage I have ever seen!
@toreven Not yet, but i would love to get there soon, in any type of weather, I am Nordic desent. I have been in high seas on the north atlantic. It feels right in my soul and it facinates me. I have great respect for all the oceans and seas.
These oil tender vessels are so strong, a bad day in the north sea would be no more than a trip to the seaside for an ice-cream for them. Try a small sailing boat !!!
the video is a bit grainy but im sure if you look hard you can see the ships bow strike the line i had attatched to my bouy when i was sprearfishing this day. I caught one cray and speared two parrot fish ...
Not carrying a heavy load l presume, because the ship rides the waves smoothly. You Norwegians are good sailors. Greeting from a Dutch ex trawlerman, who misses the sea and therefore watches thes vids on YT.
OMG that looks like perfect storm... Only thing missing is a giant rougue wave... I would have freaked out big time... Like I did when we were on our sail boat in 30 foot swells and thought it was definately the end...
i went on a cruise to the greek ilands a while back on the olympia voyoger and there was a storm we had to get of the ship and into lifeboats it was scary we were in lifeboats for 3 hours then we got back on the ship after the storm the saftey glass windows on the ship were hit so hard by that they broke they had to shut the steel water tight doors over all the windows and doorways to the outside decks then we had to dock ship to repair the damage
calm day ? You dont know what you are talking about. It can be up to 25-30 meters of sea in the north sea. North sea is one of the hardest places in the winther.
Hey! Thnx for comment, but the wind is much more heavyer than beaufort7.
In only beaufort 7 or 8 you dont get the sea so white.. The wind was about 50-60 knots at that time and gausting over 70 knots.
But this was the beginning of the storm, the waves was much bigger later on, but it was to dark to film it. So at that time it was Beaufort 10-11 when i was filming, but it dont look so heavy cuz we are lying still on the sea just riding the storm. But i will but more out.Take a look at nr2
but it's a great adrenalin rush:) i know mine can't even compare to this one but on the adriatic with a 44ft sailboat on 3mtr waves and around 30knots of wind just sailing that was pure joy:) with loads of adrenalin
This is the good stuff. Exactly why I enrolled in my education for Maritime Officer :D

Let me comment on this.
Looks like Beaufort 7 or 8 perhaps, and the camera is really stable. I commend you on this.
The sound is just fantastic too. It feels like I'm just there, in the cabin.
And you also took a couple of rough waves.
Really, don't hesitate to post more of this stuff here.
Thanks !
