Coming out has got to be one of the most difficult things that I can imagine doing. It's weird but I agree with you. Originally from the Midwest in a very conservative state I went through the same thing and it was a difficult road ahead but being the person you are and the best you are capable of being people will find you lovable and define you as the person you are not the gender you like. it wasn't easy. I believed my peers that jesus or god or someone could make me straight, tut it never worked. It may seem easy to just live your life and putting that thought away, but it always hits you, not a choice,but a feeling. People harassed me, and I hated myself & people, i became extremely antisocial until just 1 year ago. When I learned that people aren't against you, they are against what scares them.

honestly, how do you think being gay is a choice? because it is NOT. people do not wake up one day and decide to be gay. being gay is something that is inside of you. This isn't something you can turn to god to, what are you going to do? Ask for forgiveness? Say we are sorry we were born gay? Umm, that is a something BEYOND the control of any human. I sympathize. Originally from the Midwest in a very conservative state I went through the same thing and it was a difficult road ahead but being the person you are and the best you are capable of being people will find you lovable and define you as the person you are not the gender you like. It worked for me and I encourage you to try it :)

It could be a long path for a gay person to find his or her identity. Some find their destinies earlier and others find theirs later. "We do not choose to be gay" rings so true. I've know I was gay since age12. In the 70's it was impossible for me to come out. Instead, I lived the str8 life and married at age 29 and have 2 beautiful children. When my wife left me in 1996 , I decided to come out in 2000. In 2002 I lost my job,car, condo and now am penniless. But I do have the sweetest Asian guy that has stuck with me and my children love me and him to death.

I agree with what you said, people tell me being gay is a choice, but who would choose to be discriminated against, bashed, and called names. I believe no one would choose "damnation" as the pro-Christians say. I'm proud to be gay, and you should be too. You're just a person like everyone else. You shouldnt have to feel alienated or feel different. Just cause you are attracted to males doesnt define you. i came out when i was 14, now 21 it still shocks me. I am gay...
it wasn't easy. I believed my peers that jesus or god or someone could make me straight, tut it never worked. It may seem easy to just live your life and putting that thought away, but it always hits you, not a choice,but a feeling. People harassed me, and I hated myself & people, i became extremely antisocial until just 1 year ago. When I learned that people aren't against you, they are against what scares them.

Since the "default" is straight, gay people do have to make a "public announcement" in some way. Usually it's one at a time, but it has to be done.
