Great sound, who care if you're using your thumb (I do as well) as there are a lot of players who feel more comfortable playing that way. I'll have to look into the Weber one of these days.
I don't know the price or specs, I'm sure it is all on the weber website...I was just jamming out on the instrument, and since there weren't many videos, thought I'd put it up. Cheers and thanks!
@jh4124 Cheapest Mandocellos I can find are at the 1500-1800$ range. They're rare and as far as I can tell not any mass production to speak of. All custom orders OR really old instruments.
Sounds really cool. Using the thumb to complete a chord on the C-string is not the ordinary way to mak'em but sure works for you -- monster sustain on that thing. Is it tuned "normal" i.e., CGDA?
It was tuned cgda as far as I know. I'm not using the thumb to make a chord...it just hangs over the fretboard while I'm playing, if anything, muting that c string. I don't play mandoanything very often so I don't know how to play the ordinary way
nice HWM tat, in just the right spot ;)
not to mention that this is a bad-ass instrument.
