I did the same thing when I got my iPhone 3G. I already had an ipod so my first iPhone was kinda pointless. I had wanted to see just how durable the 1st gen iphones were and they are built like freaking gameboys! LOL the only problem is if you drop it face down (45% chance) then the glass is basically done for. Made for a great experiment though! Ended up being able to sell it to Apple to be recycled and I got $50 bucks for it! Nice!
