its about 300-400lbs lighter than a new SI coupe or sedan. and the motor is better. i have money this fit would beat you. i have an 00 civic coupe with this motor and i rape new SI's all the time. just saying, not hating =)

well the fit aint mine. lol. but for both good drivers, the fit should still win.

my 2000 civic coupe EX with a k20a2 from an RSX-S, and only I/H/stock exhaust for mods, beats the new SI with ease. so im not tuned and i won. weight played a big factor in that race, and a Fit weighs about the same as my civic. they look big and bulky, but they weigh between 2400-2500lbs where a new SI is like 2890lbs or something close to that.

Hmm well I guess I'll have to agree with you on that one - weight really does make a difference.

I believe it'll still be a close race though, I mean the K20z3/k20a2 are really similar in terms of power output....it's mainly the weight that'll make the difference.

BTW just out of curiosity, how did you manage to get your hands on that K20? Did u get it out of a scrapped DC5?

but i got my motor and tranny off hmotorsonline site. comes with more than the complete motor and tranny, and paid $3500. i just went to their site recently, and its like $4000 now. not sure why it went up. i had a rod knock on my single cam, and i decided to get a k20 motor. car and everything is on my profile if you havent checked. and a link with more pics.

no problem. Yea the fit's are nowhere near that quick! this fit has a motor out of an RSX type S installed in it. the redline for that motor is around 8,200 rpm.

Well I cant tell you exactly how much money it takes because Im from PR and I dont know the price of that engine in US. In PR a swap like this can easily go over $7,000...perhaps in US too.

the system doesnt recognize the software that it took to swap the engine. the fits have a shit load of sensores haha anything a miss and it will throw a light. try to remove the radio, i did, the car wouldnt start....

i dont know whats rong with his fit but that green light is the immobilizer its 100% normal what it is is a chip inside your key that sends a messege to your cars computer to tell it to start ask your local dealer if you dont believe me

THe B-Series engines are positioned in the oposite mounting points (I.E. engine at the Drivers side, and Trans at the pass side).

The L15A1 stock Fit engine is positioned the same as a K-Series. Making the use of the stock mounting points and stock mounts.  Thus making an easier swap than the cutting and welding necessary for a B-series. That and they weight pretty similar as well.

K-series is a no brainer in this situation.

Thats a killer engine u running there. Mannn, really making me go for a K20A on my Honda City. Well just wondering has the HUGE increase in power affected the handling coz as you said the engine is heavier too.

Handling for daily driving, is harly affected. Of course there is more power on a FWD so in the turns if you are flooring it, you will feel some understeer. WIth suspension upgrades, you can elimintate that. As for road racing, we will see and I'll let you know.

US Stock Fit's are the L15A1 engine 109hp at the crank. The "US RSX Type S" or EDM Civic Type R engine K20A2 which is in my fit now, has 200hp at the crank.
