The dance is the Trekarlspolska, a dance going back to the Late Middle Ages. Such dances are called Basse Danse in France and were common in the 15th & early 16thnCentury. The best example and relative is "De Kegelaar" from Diest in Belgium, which has a tradition to an old Hansa guild of the 15thC and could be the original of this !

Dude, this is the old-folks Midsummer party. The more up-to-date midsummer celebrations are more adapted to younger people, who just used Midsummer for an excuse to get fucking hammered. I mean, we celebrate that a giant penis is having sex with mother-earth, pretends to be fucking frogs, and dances around the giant penis. Maybe that is a perfect excuse to get fucking hammered.
