No no, I understand what you're saying, but after everything that happened in the final 30 miles, I'm just glad JG finished with his car in one piece and in the top 10. Bring on Kentucky!
@hermanherreid If you look REALLY close, Juan caught the left rear quarter panel and wrinkled it slightly. Tough to say, this actually may have helped stabilize the 24. Check it out @ 1:44
That was unreal. On the 1st restart after his spin, he was 30th. He restarted 18th after the big one and wound up 6th with the help of some excellent decisions from Kyle Busch. If you're a 24 fan, the last 4 weeks have to be very encouraging, barring a bad decision to take 4 tires in Michgan where Gordon was 9th prior to a late pit stop.
@TheRemnant1776 I don't think that it was the fact that it was a 4 tire stop that hurt Gordon in Michigan, just that it was an abnormally long stop.
And as a huge Gordon fan who was in the stands, I nearly had a heart attack when he spun out, but after he saved it, and with a little luck he got 6th (fun fact, this 6th place finish is his first top 10 this season that also wasn't a top 5)
@SneakySneasel After looking at the replay - the up close replay - you can see Gordons car had only 3 of the 4 tires on the ground (the right front was off the ground) while he was going down the slope while his car was going around. If all 4 tires were on the ground, he would have helicoptered and, in all likelyhood, gotten obliterated by on coming traffic. I wish Gordon had gone to the top before Kyle Busch/Logano beat them there. But thats nit-picking.
Amazing save by Jeff Gordon. Nobody else would have be able to do it. Jeff Gordon is the best driver in Nascar bar none. I was in awe but not shocked, as I said Jeff Gordon is the best driver in Nascar.

Don't think Jeff saved it alone. Juan Pablo did an awesome job of staying off of him.
