I really hate to be the one to tell you this, but the particular Galliera PM that you are showing is actually a good replica. I can tell because the authentic Galliera PM is always cut directly through where the L and the V intersect (the top intersection). This insures that the bags will always be perfectly symmetrical which is a LV staple. I'm really sorry, I only tell you so that you can hopefully get a refund from your seller!

For everyone else who suspects the featured bag in this video might be fake, i'm more tempted to critique the colour on the edges of the leather handles. I would like to know how long you have owned the bag as the colour is a very vivid red (this is meant to fade with time). If you've had it for a few months i suggest getting it inspected at an LV boutique.
Also, what I don't get, is that you said you paid the full amount for your handbag in the video, but you obviously didn't buy it on LV official website? Or did you? And if you did buy it on LV official website, then why did you have to look up if it was authentic or not?

The canvas is never cut so that it obstructs the LV... If you were to take the Galleria apart, you would see that one complete piece of canvas never cuts the LV, but sometimes the LV will be covered by stitching, a strap, hardware, or whatever. When making a bag, the canvas is measured to have complete LV on the monogram styles, and then it is put together. Don't take your Galleria apart though. LOL, it's beautiful!
Is there an update on this video? What are other ways to spot a fake? A lot of fakes now come in leather that will actually change colour. I read an article once about an interview with a human rights officer who accompanied the police to places where they manufactured fake goods and the human rights officer said that they force children to work on those bags in really awful conditions!!

@buonwebdesign -- I have similar handbag and the handle is much shorter when I bought it at LV store. The handle cannot be interchangeable. It only comes in a shorter version. Hmmmm a good fake one.

THE best place to study is on Ebay. They have a multi page guide there for anyone to view. After studying the guide, study the bags on line for quite awhile. If you don't buy from a retail LV shop, only buy from a trusted dealer on Ebay (even then, be very careful). I have several bags which I have brought to the LV dealer and they have congratulated me on my fantastic buys.

I, myself, have about 15 pcs., some collectors including a cerises 25 and the bucket too.

I have been doing research on authentic handbags of all makers. I seen a program where they stated an authentic LV bag actually is made of one strip of leather.

I truly think it's hard to detect a "knock-off" because they are being so very well crafted these days. Especially the ones that try their hardest to be spot on with the material and hardware. Some knock offs are even going for fairly high prices.

Good video. I actually saw an episode on the Tyra Banks show about fake handbags and I think the insides show whether the bag is real or not. I never buy my bags on the street. I only get them from the store. There's segment they did on The City where people would sell Fendi and Louis Vuitton for like $25-$30. If a bag is that cheap then most likely it's a fake. If the insides are of papery texture then it's a fake.

hi, I noticed that you said your's is the p.m not g.m , I have the same one , and I bought mine from the l.v store.I was wondering why your p.m have the longer strap, the g.m is the only one that has the longer strap, for the shoulder.did you buy yours from another country? @buonwebdesign -- I have similar handbag and the handle is much shorter when I bought it at LV store. The handle cannot be interchangeable. It only comes in a shorter version. Hmmmm a good fake one.

THE best place to study is on Ebay. They have a multi page guide there for anyone to view. After studying the guide, study the bags on line for quite awhile. If you don't buy from a retail LV shop, only buy from a trusted dealer on Ebay (even then, be very careful). I have several bags which I have brought to the LV dealer and they have congratulated me on my fantastic buys.

I have never bought from her as I find her prices too expensive but I did use her guide, plus many, many hours of pouring over pics of purses. I usually buy from a "mypoupette" dealer on Ebay but i also buy from sellers with an excellent Ebay rating also. I, myself, have about 15 pcs., some collectors including a cerises 25 and the bucket too.

Great FYI video...Thanks. A good rule of thumb is to always check the pictures on the website. Or you can take the bag to the Louis Vuitton counter to get it authenticated. A friend bought a speedy 25 Monogram Canvas off ebay and she did this. They confirmed it was real for her.

Good video. I actually saw an episode on the Tyra Banks show about fake handbags and I think the insides show whether the bag is real or not. I never buy my bags on the street. I only get them from the store. There's segment they did on The City where people would sell Fendi and Louis Vuitton for like $25-$30. If a bag is that cheap then most likely it's a fake. If the insides are of papery texture then it's a fake.
