It seems more and more people are coming to realise Barca haven't been winning fairly in Europe, and the competition is being turned into UEFA's little pet joke. Chelsea could have had 6 penalties and a decent ref would have given 3 or 4, with Abidal sent off earlier for foul on Drogba when through on the goalie. It would have been a massacre. Now we have the ridiculous semi final Real disallowed goal. How much longer can this carry on?

Shirt pulling and leg foul when through 1 on 1 with the goalie = red card. With a decent ref Chelsea would have won by 4 or 5. Chelsea dominated the match before and after the red card, and only handballs, fouls and the ref stopped a thrashing. Mourinho said it was historically bad refereeing, but we all know UEFA wanted Barca v Man U not another all-English final.

@kuriyamatidusflossy It's not about whether Barca are excellent- they are- or the English league (i'm not English), but the ref in this match who hurt Chelsea appallingly. Whether Barca might (or not) have won by an extra goal in the 1st leg is irrelevant to the number of penalties turned down here and the fact that Chaelsea could have had the match easily sewn up but for the ref. As Mourinho has just said, it was a scandal. Barca have had ref decisions often in their favour in Europe.

@mizofan Of course when Morinho was defeated by Chelsea in 2006, he wasn't planing that as a ambitious coach he thought just like 2005 they will go through the Barca challenge but it didn't turn out to be because in the 1st leg Del Horno got red card (rightly so challenge against Messi) and Chelsea lost, Since Morinho was planing to get the CL cup for sure that year it was a big disappointment for him. However ridiculous it may sound, it consistently seems as though UEFA are opposed to all-English finals, hence the referee appeared to side with Barcelona in the match. Evidently your bias of supporting whatever team you support is in the way of the truth and you know deep down that Chelsea should have got through this match the victors and beaten a substandard United in the final.

Give me a break, Tom Hennig Ovrebo hosed both teams in the second leg at Stamford Bridge.
The problem that Chelsea fans overlook is that they failed to score an away goal at the Camp Nou and they failed to get a second goal after Michael Essien scored 10 minutes in. Had they scored one more goal in those two situations, they went to Rome instead of Barca.

@joesakic91 Abidal should have been sent off earlier when Drogba should have had a penalty, one of 5 the ref refused (+ another with Anelka some refs might have given). This was a shameful ref; with any half decent ref Chelsea would have won easily, it would have all been over long before Abidal was finally sent off. And then there were 2 clear handballs. Pique's was an incredible decision.

I cant stand that how everyone seems to be complaning about some gross injustice here in this game showing little sense of when a penalty kick should be awarded. I watched every position when the crowd howled with a penalty cry, none of them were certain penalties. It's not surprising that referees are hardly convinced when it happens in the penalty area.
