  • what is an eps connector and do i have to plug it in when i build my pc

  • @kevinspl2000 Powers the CPU!

  • Comment removed

  • just came in today from newegg. sounds like a fucking vacuum cleaner under load (if you can call MW3 a load). looked it up and apparently it's a pretty common problem. RMA please. 2/10 would not bang.

  • well.. seems to have been a good choice psu for me. will be running a i7 2700k, Asus P8Z68-V PRO g3, 16gb patriot ram, ati HD7970. so all seems well. :D

  • @CoNoR217 does yours get really loud in games? then take about 15 minutes to shut up after closing it?

  • @FlossBandit its the way the psu is designed.. if you listen to the dude he says that it gets louder (fan spins faster) when its put under a heavy load.. like playing games and stuff. to keep the psu cooler.

  • Got it off NewEgg for $95 with $15 discount code. So it will be $75 total with the rebate! The $15 code ends 2/16 on NewEgg so hurry!

  • should i get the 650w or 750w running a 2500k, 8gbs of corsair vengeance ram and a radeon 6950?

  • @IamTheJesusGuy 650w is perfect for that build. No point going for 750w, because even if you're planning on cf'ing 6950 you'll need at least 800w.

  • @9ggubZprod cf'ing?

  • @IamTheJesusGuy crossfire*.

  • @9ggubZprod oh, im not planning on that since i have the triple slot asus direct cu II version and its just too big for that.

  • @IamTheJesusGuy Ok. 650w is perfect for that build. But if I was you, I would've bought the 750w just in case and just to be future proof. Of course if you don't have the money, 650w is more than enough!

  • @9ggubZprod the 750w is only £8 more so ill use that

  • hello all,i have a question to all owners of this PSU (mine is 650w)

the fan on psu is quite audiable, ocz says that fan is spinning as load on psu is, less load less fan speed and more load more fan speed...fan in my psu is noisy, when i power up computer its fan is in my opinion laud, nomater if i am gaming or browsing internet or watching movies the fan on psu spinns the same all time:S, i only have Phenom 955,HD5770 and one green sata HDD,so load is less than 40-50% on psu

  • Is it SLI compatible?

  • @TehMegaNoobZor if the PSU has 2 pci-e 6 pin's then it's SLi and cross compatible....

  • @Dmanplayer723 thanks man, i was planning on getting it with 2 gtx 550 ti's just wanted to make sure

  • @TehMegaNoobZor yup No problem man..

  • @TehMegaNoobZor well the 4 pci slots say yes.

  • exactly from a new egg review:

ChillieD0g is an idiot, for anyone reading his review. The power supply comes with 2 4+4 pin power cables for your board. If you are running a board that only requires one 4 pin cable (LIKE THE ONE I'M USING NOW!) all you have to do is slide apart the connectors. Takes 2 seconds.

This thing is great though, powers a 965 BE @ 4.2GHz, Biostar Board, 1x1TB, 1x1.5TB, 1x40GB drives, 9 Case fans, DVD, a couple PCI cards and a Crossfire 5770 setup with no problems.

  • @Kikikinglord boy dont make me pull out my webcam an show you that is does not come apart ..it is a regular 8 pin i know what i am talking about because i have the power supply sitting in my closet

  • @chilliedog2918 Bring it out and show us then, they said it can slide apart since it is a 4+4 i'd take their advice over yours, unless you are blind. They said it is 4+4 unless yours was different or a mistake, show us then.

I looked at the reviews, they said you made a mistake. I want to see what is going on, there is no way a 4+4 can not slide apart of not, they should include an 8+ and a separate 4+.

  • Comment removed

  • @Kikikinglord Err ..um while making the video to this respoce pulling around on the plug it seprates into a 2 4 pins ...oh boy ...feel like a jackass now ....yes you all are right ....now since that has been done ...case closed

  • @chilliedog2918 So, you telling me you were upset and decided to write that new egg crap, but could not return it because of the UPC was used for rebate so you put it in your closet. What PSu were you using your older one? Now since this newish PSU has been neglected, are you going to use it now? or make money and sell the one you bought for no reason?

I do not like people wasting money or not using products.

  • @KikikinglordNo i did not return it because it is hard for me to get anywhere since i dont drive so i am gonna sell it on craigslist that 1 i do have is the seasonic X series and it its 80 plus gold to where the other is just 80 plus bronze so i will sell this

  • this psu is very loud!

  • i see no 6 pin connectors so what if your graphics card has 2, 6 pin connectors ? sorry I'm a noob

  • @BadapMrSimprrr This PSU comes with 4 6+2 pin power connectors, for your graphics card(s)

  • @BadapMrSimprrr 6+2 pin for cards which require 8 pin connecors 6+2 =8. But if you got 6 pin just use the 6!! not the +2. there you go.

  • The EPS cable is a little lacking for my Corsair 500R :<

  • does not have a 4 pin 12v instead it has a 4+4 pin

  • @chilliedog2918 yes and if you want to detach the 4+4 to male 4 pin, in case you do not need 8 pin. not rocket science.

  • @Kikikinglord Um...beg to differ u can not detach anything

  • @chilliedog2918 Yes you can the 4+4 should have an option to be detatched into 4+

So there have been people who whine in reviews like you chillidog, who returned this review with out looking at reviews on newegg, if you read the reviews after yours on new egg you'd see people called you an idiot. i knew i saw you somewhere before.... same idiot...

  • @chilliedog2918 Yes you can, you returned it with out trying. I knew his even before I decided to buy it, was planning a build since "last year", yet i looked at he reviews on new egg and bought from ncix. people said he can be. derp.

  • @chilliedog2918 If you go to the newegg comments for this product on the second page of reviews. You will see at the bottom of the second page people correct you and call you an idiot. Do not tell me you returned this PSU because you did not know how to slide apart a 4+4 connector. Therefore you must have made a damn mistake and broke the cable because you are stupid... nice try man.

  • Can this fit a df-85 with cable man.

  • WOULD IT FIT ON A FULL TOWER AZZA HURRICAN 2000 ON WIRE MANAGEMENT IF U CAN GET BACK THANKS

  • Thanks for review! Brilliant Work you've done :)

  • How much power do you need for GTX 460 SLI?

  • @dajusta87

650w is enough, 750w to be on the safe side

  • @silentzoRRR ZT 650w can't perform a SLI/CF

  • are the eps 8pin cables 4+4pin or only 8 pin? I'm asking because atm i have a 4-pin power cpu but upgrading to 8pin.

  • Sweet, I really wanted a decent 750w modular PSU at a good price. I'll definitely be picking this up.

  • I might get this.

  • Hmm, ok, this, but the 650W model, or the Seasonic x650W?

  • 750W is needed if you're using dual graphics card .

    like the power supply :)

    more vids please :)

  • @Felgueirao56 not exactly, you need to pay attention the the 12v rails each of them outputs a certain amount of amps a graphics card needs a certain amount of amps to work correctly

  • A place here in Aus called "Alice Springs" would kill almost any computer that is not in an air conditioned room.

  • 750 Watts and modular, for a little over 100 Very nice

  • i am sure three days out of 365 days does not count as common mate.

but don't mind me i am only trolling i Vic is a pretty cool state

  • modular psu's are sexy :)

  • googled xiphoid process...

  • HEY EVERYBODY THIS GUYS A TERRORIST!!!!!!

  • @alquin0975 Lmao what the hell are you talking about?

  • @alquin0975 STFU!!!! Every fucking video you make the same comment

  • he carries a knife along with his key change.. TERRORIST!!!!!!!!

  • I'm creating a serious hybrid machine. In using dual 1500 watt power supplies.

  • @testermanish Srsly? :D

  • @testermanish What would even use that power?

  • Comment removed

  • getting the 550 watt...hope it turns out ok...my current one freezes randomly and forces me to restart the psu by turning the switch off then on...it wont let me hit the reset button or ctl+alt+del

  • Anyone know what the OEM is for this PSU? Is it Seasonic or some other OEM?

  • its a big PowerSupply for a 750. 850 from corsair is smaller 0.o

  • @errrAndy

I've just bought one from overclockers uk.

  • Where to buy this in the United Kingdom!

  • Going to buy

  • i bought this psu and its actually pretty good, sli gtx 590 works good.

  • Wikipedia it's nothing compare to u .....

  • it is the end of the world.

  • Maybe he's new to Earth...There are many regions world wide that reach and exceed 45c.

  • @TooLameToDie Considering 45C (113F) is considered "Extremely Hazardous" by the WHO, I doubt you will be gaming at the temperature, EVER.

  • @DonaldScottIV Not the point I was trying to make...but ok.

  • Please, come to the UK NCIX! I'd love to buy some of the stuff you guys have that isn't sold here!!

  • people, I have a Corsair AX850, this source is better than the OCZ?

  • i like the all black design cables

  • 45 degrees is realistic in Sicily

  • @MrFaustoBV you connect them to your motherboard to power your processor

  • Can anyone explain what eps is?

  • @MrFaustoBV google ;)

  • Can I use this on GTX 580 2-sli with i7 2600k?

  • @yojgee Probably not, i think you need 1000w for that

  • @MrElitErik Thanks buddy! :)

    How about OCZ ZX1000W Fully-Modular?

Or should I go with ZX1250w? If you're gonna choose between OCZ ZX psu and Corsair Ax1000, which would you choose? :)

  • @yojgee Corsair AX1000 or AX1200 if you wanna expand one day

  • @yojgee might be, i would go for a 800-850 psu just to be sure

  • @TheFinalDroid Is having too huge PSU not good for the system? For example, if I go for 1200w and my system only has 2 sli gtx580 and i72600k with 16gb memory, woud it affect the system?

  • @yojgee no, you won't hurt the system, your powersupply just won't be running at peak efficiency and will be drawing more power from the wall.

  • Nah, this psu isn;t for me, Id rather run my SR-2 with a single card.. Say just a 6870. Thats enough for me.

  • The PSU is hotter when it runs... why are you excited about 45c.

  • @iTK98

It's talking about the ambient temperature.

  • Here in India temperature touches 50-55 In summers ... So I think its pretty realistic here

  • linus rage at 10:00 haha

  • will this power supply support 2 radeon 6850s

  • @johnb32xq Any good quality PSU with atleast 500 Watts will work with 2 6850s. And this one would ofcourse work great to.

  • @johnb32xq With plenty of room to spare, I have two 6870s on a 660w

  • @johnb32xq It will support 2 hd 6950s.

  • yesterday in english class my teacher asked us who our hero is and i said "linus from youtube because he is awesome"!

  • Silverstone Strider Plus 750W you can use 2 8Pin-EPS and all 4 PCI-E

  • Hi Linus, What camera are u using for recording Linus Tech Tips and NCIX Videos?

  • Corsair does it to like 50c on the HX series, and probably the rest of their 80+ gold at least.

  • Great PSU, exactly what I have been looking for to use in my new build....unfortunately they aren't available in the UK yet :(

  • Would this be enough for a GTX580?

  • @loonah sure would;) 580 can pull a max 375watts and that's unrealistic.

  • @loonah yes

  • were not that lucky to have a motherboard that can have a dual graphic cards

  • 45 degrees is realistic is Australia

  • @Alwyn1000 Forget 45 degrees, 55 degrees is realistic in Australia :P

  • @ii69HD Mine glows red. Is that normal?

  • @ii69HD im sitting at 46 degrees upstairs in my house (Sydney) and its not even summer yet......

  • @ii69HD

have you guys even been to Australia?

  • @uniman6699 i live in australia, we had like a 49 degree day last summer

  • @patawic

fair enough mate probably in NT, Western Australia or South Australia but not in Queensland, Vic (definitely) or NSW

  • @uniman6699 The hottest its got in Vic is like 47. I remember during the bushfires we had 3 days in a row where it was that hot.

  • @Alwyn1000 And thats why some ppl use watercooling.. Lol... :)

  • @Alwyn1000 lol he's from canada. its not that warm here man xD

  • @Alwyn1000 4 years ago we had 5 days of constant 43 - 45 degrees in melbourne. it was so hot the sweat would dry by the time you started to perspirate and the colour of the sky was redish orange. no joke

  • @Alwyn1000

who gives a shit about a piece of land in the middle of nowhere

  • bah...I'm a bit ADD today

  • I really love watching your videos... they really keep me up to date with parts and so much more :) great channel

  • Nice unbox/overview/explanation linus. I own the ZX 850W GOLD. OCZ makes great units haven't had one bust on me yet!

  • I liked the cat unit better for measurement ;)

  • can u all assure me that OCZ is a good PSU brand?it also has cheap psus 600W

its cheap psus are good for gaming?

  • How many Linuses can a Linus unbox if a Linus could unboxes Linuses?

  • I hope Linus will upload a review video of this PSU,,

  • Xiphoid process to the top of the head lololol

  • OCZ power supplies = coil whine

  • must be just me that i have to skip to half of the vid (of everyone one of linus's unboxings) just to see the product out of the box. so much unneeded talking in between imo. I dont admire the box as much as some ppl. I live by Chillis slogan: get in get out get on with your life.

  • @1Ezk Why would you want to just "see" a power supply? What do you learn about it from just looking at the product itself? In this video especially he goes over extremely useful information on the product itself. He could have left the product in the box in this video, and it still would have been a helpful video.

  • @SCChirp why do you want to see the box? I want to see the power supply, its features, cables, modular shit etc. then i leave. im looking for a new psu as mine is like 5 years old. i dont give a shit about the box. if i want specific stats i will google it and or go look on newegg along with reading reviews. pce

  • @1Ezk I don't care about the box, I care for the specs on the box. Why not check out the image of the power supply, its cables and "modular shit" on newegg also? Nobody cares about the box, we care about the info he gives while the product is still in the box.

  • @SCChirp each to his own. i was stating a point that i feel like the only one who skips through half of what i think is bs. i would rather read stats and compare them side by side then just have stuff read off to me. (visual learner?) its basically practicality.. and each to his own. calm down.

  • I thought OCZ had dropped out of this market and were going to concentrate on SSD market exclusively.

  • Im gonna cry when Linus cant make videos anymore :( Long Live Linus

    LLL

  • love watching this videos STONE :D its all realisctic !

  • grats on winning female football (soccer) on the pan-american games

  • Good deal on Newegg for this for only $110. It's usually $130. Definitely a good time to buy this, I unfortunately am spending my pay on a motherboard instead. But I will be getting this soon!

  • A Linus is now a new unit of measure.

  • We need to know the amps on the 12v rail. In this case 62A

  • @S3cK5hun8

    Learn to read.

  • "A bunch of languages i do-not-care-about" haha the best part of the video for me.

  • 45 degree is not unrealistic temperature

  • @ambudsharma 45 degree celsius ambient temperature is very uncommon in a situation in which you are running a decent computer. anywhere where the ambient temperature goes over 40, people will have ac so it wont be 45 in the room. It is designed to be worst case scenario.

  • @maxwellborden Australia regularly gets above 40c in the summer, and I dont have aircon.

  • @PSadvance Sleep in the pool.

  • 65 to 100,000 subs! Way to go man

  • I love how he bitches about DVI to VGA with a GTX 580 yet a Molex to floppy on a high end PSU is just fine XD

  • @cre8ive65 LOL yeah i noticed that too ;p

  • I like how you said "here are a bunch of different languages, which I do not care about"

and than fast said "but someone does"

You know you said something that people may take offensive

So you politicly correct it as fast as possible xD

  • linus can you do the Asus g53sw a1

  • Power Supply's are always exciting!

  • Why so much ocz hate? I replaced my cheap crappy psu after it blew up with an ocz stealth xstream and its brill! Quiet and does the job

  • At the end of the day it's still OCZ garbage.

  • @ditendo That PSU gets horrible reviews lol. Don't get close to drawing 750W from it, it will shut down due to temps.

  • I would never buy an OCZ PSU they are just unreliable overall compared to other brands...

  • 5:40 "First thing we find"... seriously? LOL

  • 45c is not unrealistic in Australia, Linus.

  • you could do crossfire with 2 6850s with 2 6pin pcie connectors :D

    Amd FTW

  • Linus you should put these in a case and route a cables, to see if they DO fit, as well as managing the cable from the PSU, as i know at times its a bugger to get in.

  • @LinusTechTips Hehe. Bad pun.... You shouldn't have any issues with the length of the cables whatever the 'case' may be.

  • nice video, interesting product indeed. Reminds me very much my Seasonic x-560, this could probably be made by Seasonic as well. On the site it says 80+ bronze, not gold. Are you sure it's gold?

  • @zivsahar He never said it was gold.

  • Is this very laggy for anyone else?

  • @TekenMoop No, Its fine for me, must be your computer/internet

  • @TekenMoop With my turdy computer, no as long as it's set to less than 720p. If it was for you then it could be either your computer or your internet. Try right clicking on the video and click on "Take speed test" That should help rule out what the issue is.
