  • whats the spin called at 2:10 ???? amazing performance!!

  • Comment removed

  • This was officially the last of the great routines in Figure Skating... now its all that changing edge crap in spins, every routine looks the same, footwork, spirals all the same one-after-another no matter what country you skate for...Also, when is that last time an Arena was that full for a Skating event? I'll answer: that was the last time, skating is in the garbage and no one is going to fix it. Sad, just like gymnastics, nobody watches anymore, nobody understands the scoring system

  • just beautiful...

  • I was there for this. The energy in the building was incredible. And that's my "Whoooo!" (I know...obnoxious...my sister punched me in the side when I did it) right before her inside-edge spiral.

  • i iceskate

  • She never looked nervous, always looked like she was genuinely enjoying every second she was on the ice. Her skating was so calm but had such energy and life, just beautiful.

  • I met her today..lol

  • This is what I longed to hear, Michelle Kwan being in a Hall of Fame while getrealandchoke being in a Hall of Shame. LOL Michelle Kwan is a somebody while getrealandsee, is a nobody.

  • When I watch Michelle skate I am transported to another place. It`s like I forget I am watching a skater. It really is something special. Michelle your the best!!!

  • I have yet to see any skater besides Michelle who, when skating well, has been able to get the crowd cheering even before the end of her program. Her footwork sequences were always so emotional and breathtaking.

  • Many skaters land triple-triple combos. And they look like shit doing it. No finesse at all. Or they attempt difficult jumps & always botch them—and they're supposed to be commended for that?? Makes no sense. I would rather watch Kwan—an athlete with solid technique (NOT SLOPPY) & unmatched artistry. She's a complete package. Her performances have elevated skating beyond just being a sport. Too many so-called "technically better" skaters out there & no one cares to watch them or remembers them.

  • hers and Yukina Ota's aranjuez are probably the best ones and the ones that really take my breath away

  • @ithinkformyseIf But Michelle Kwan DID deserve this World title... She deserved ALL of her World titles. Your ignorant assumptions are so lame.

  • i love the classical music. i wish people would all include the name of the piece in the description...

  • Just saw Patrick Chan's interpretation to this same music and sadly his performance does nothing for me :( Michelle doesn't hold anything back especially during her footwork sequence and just pours her heart out!!! Michelle is simply the best!

  • This is what figure skating is all about!

  • i think winning 6 worlds titles!!!! is way better than just winning one olympics because it seems harder

  • @Skate11Canada

    5, actually. She's amazing.

  • I've never cried from watching an ice skating performance before! She is magical! So glad I ran across this! Bravo Michelle!

  • LOVE IT, LOVE HER! SHE IS MY FAV FOR SURE.......

  • Comment removed

  • she's the first to make me cry watching a skating segment.

  • we will never ever hear an audience clap and cheer and award with flowers and teddy bears like how the skating world has embraced michelle kwan

  • love they way this program ends...with the spin...so gorgeous

  • How many skaters are out there that we can say they've performed magical performances like this.. MULTIPLE times in their career? There may be a few performances from others that stick out, but Michelle? 96 World LP, 98 Nationals SP & LP, 2000 World LP, 2001 National SP, 2001 World LP, 2002 National LP, 2003 National LP, 2003 World SP & LP, 2004 Nationals LP, 2005 Nationals SP.. I'm sure I'm missing some. That many times!! Def. one of the most breathtaking skaters who will ever live!

  • Anyone who thinks Michelle was not the force of figure skating look at those stands compared to 2010s worlds stands. 1/2 the crowd and NO ONE has ever gotten the kind of love and uninterupted applause like Michelle did. She is a champion of the first rate caliber!

  • Why won't people quit with the Michelle Vs Yu Na feud already? They're both amazing skaters, and Yu Na has said herself that Michelle is her inspiration. Why compare them? Just like who you want to like and enjoy the beauty that is Figure Skating.

  • Best figure skater ever, Olympic gold or no Olympic gold.

  • Kwan was the last great. Now the sport is filled with fly-by-nights.

  • @allenglandlawns Obviously a Yu Na fan. ;) Sorry, I heartily disagree with your assessment.

  • @allenglandlawns well. How abt you watch the Olympics 1997 of Kwan Free style n Long Programme? I bed you won/t say the same thing.

  • @allenglandlawns Michell is the most consistent figure skater ever. Yu Na has done amazing things, but she still has to prove a lot, if she wants to be as consistent as Michelle. Winning a couple of years doesn't prove you're the gratest skater while Michelle is still around.

  • @Porporinablu allengland , and her alter-ego getrealandsee, is a spammer-troll. She lives for responses. Ignore her and mark her thumbs-down

  • Guys, all skaters are great in their own way. Whether it be Michelle Kwan, Sasha Cohen, Slutskaya, etc. STOP trying to convince people that you're right because it's a waste of time. They like who they like and you like who you like.

  • woah

  • my inspiration..

  • she is just simple awesomeeee!!!!!

  • I love Michelle, but I can understand how people think she got stagnant the last couple of years of her career (because she did). Her performance became more about being Michelle Kwan and the fact that she was so loved and she was so consistent (because her program layouts became the exact same).

However, if you say she was handed world championships... no. She still had to produce. She was robbed of medals too, in 95 and 2005.

  • Comment removed

  • @ZRSchultz Every year she didn't win, I agree with.

1997, she fell, Tara was better.

    1999, Butyrskaya skated brilliantly.

    2002, Slutskaya skated without fault.

2004, the year of Arakawa (though Michelle was too harshly penalized in the short... that was brilliant short from Michelle)

2005, Biellmania gripped the sport. However, Slutskaya backed it up with triple-triple and programs that suited her. (Though the dealing of the cards is just typically ridiculous choreo from her).

  • @anubethc45 TRUE TRUE!!

  • @anubethc45 Is getrealandsee also allenglandlawns bitch??? yeah..phony..just like she say Michelle...ah, look in the mirror, getreal/allengland...you dumb phony bitch

  • The most beautiful piece of music ever: "Adagio" from Concierto de Aranjuez by Rodrigo.

  • Best figure skater of all times. We will never see another one as perfect as Michelle Kwan again. Whenever I need to experience some beauty, joy, and uplifting in my soul, I turn to this video. Thank you Michelle. We really really LOVE you.

  • I really miss Michelle on the ice now...it's not the same anymore :(

  • Spirals are more than just the SAME old thing Kwan does all the time. And Sasha had all of those others plus the best arabesque. As I recall, Kwan received a level one at the 2005 worlds. That's right a level ONE spiral.

  • @allenglandlawns False. Kwan received a level 3 for her spiral in the short program and long. Nice try... Kwan's spiral was superior to Sasha's...

  • Comment removed

  • @allenglandlawns You're unable to name me a program from Sasha as difficult and innovative as Salome and TRV. Mediocre and syrupy sap? That would be Sasha's fluff... TRV and TBF were "syrupy"? All of Sasha's programs were really pretty but conventional. She was nowhere near as versatile as Kwan. Yes, I Saw Sasha's 2006 spirals and they were inferior to Kwan's COE spiral (Sasha's fan spiral was superior to Kwan's fan spiral). Button said that about her National spiral. Her 2:28 was superior.

  • @Karosanyo While I agree with a lot of what you're saying and I believe allenglandlawns is trashing a wonderful skater, I think the spirals are more subjective. I'm a huge fan of both Sasha and Michelle and as an unbiased outsider I believe that SC's spirals are better than MK's. Her position is more stretched and steady. MK definitely is a more successful skater overall, as Sasha was very inconsistent, but when Sasha was on she could challenge Michelle. Her 2002 Oly SP was absolutely magic.

  • @juicy013 Check out Kwan's awesome back spiral at the 2002 Great American Skate to FOG. I also love her spiral at the 1998 World Pro EOE. Kwan's charlotte at the 2000 Worlds was very difficult and great. I also love 2:28 (Sasha could NEVER change her edge like that with so much speed). I am always unbiased with my views, but I truly feel that Kwan's spiral was superior. I admit that Sasha's spins were superior to Kwan's....

  • @Karosanyo Yeah, I just think spirals may be a matter of opinion. Because I personally just like watching Sasha's more but I don't think Michelle's are bad, by any means. And yeah I see what you mean with the edge thing but Sasha could definitely do the Charlotte spiral just as well as Michelle, if not, she could do it even better.

  • @juicy013 see my comment above about allenglandlawns. Posts on other skating sites too...very negative and very anti-american...moans and groans, gripes and complains...sad to be such a pathetic individual...

  • @allenglandlawns Wrong competition, allenglandlawns. This is the 2003 Worlds Long Program, not the 2005 Worlds competition. If you want to talk about her level one spiral, look up the 2005 Worlds. :)

  • @TeamKween2010 yeah, that goofball allenglandlawns posts on other sites too..very anti-american sentiments; gripes, moans a complains about our FABULOUS American skaters..such a sad delusion he/she lives.

  • @oofahman Link me. I would love to see what she/he is saying. ;)

  • @TeamKween2010 ugh! I can't find it now..damn...type in "Lysacek upsets Plushenko for Gold" in the browser. That's where I found it. :)

  • @oofahman Alright :)

  • @anubethc45 Still frothing at the mouth I see. And just as desperate as ever. Well, Michelle Kwan needs you, I guess...you are certainly imitating her with your vitriol and ugly comments.

  • @getrealandsee/allenglandlawn...you are so effing pathetic it's scary...nothing wrong with you that a good firstclass funeral couldn't fix...loserbitch

  • Dick sounds so gross and unprofessional in this video. Kwan skates a beautiful but mediocre program and he all but wets his pants over her. It was the Michelle Kwan show and no one else stood a chance even if God forbid Kwan makes buttprints on an already simple program.

  • @allenglandlawns A mediocre program? I disagree. This program was very good. The speed and choreography was very well done (I love 1:34, 2:26, 3:12). Skating with this much speed and emotion is not "simple". Elena's program was truly atrocious. Her choreography, spins, speed and spirals were nowhere near as great as Kwan's.

  • you can't argue with kwan lovers-- their love of her is visceral. and because of that, they cannot objectively see that she is not really that great at all. she didn't push the envelope at all. if you love her for her artistry, there were others who were better artistically, like cohen or others. however, kwan was the "darling" of the judges for years-- she could do no wrong. and that is how she is seen by her fans too. they arne't able to take the person out of the equation and just judge skate

  • @jason101other Your statement is highly ignorant and rude. We cannot be objective and see? Because YOU think she isn't? Those are YOUR opinions. Yes, I am always objective with Kwan (Tara deserved the OGM, etc.), but I think that she is the greatest female figure skater of all time. That's how I feel. Kwan did push the envelope with her aristry. Sasha? Sasha was nowhere near as versatile as Kwan was. I could never see Sasha skating to TFB or TRV. Sasha did the same pretty fluff over and over.

  • @Karosanyo This is just absolutely over the top...Sasha doing the same FLUFF over and over? She has moxie, athleticism, and fire. Her skating just screams athletic ability...makes mistakes yes but she EARNS her marks without stepping on anyone else....Kwan? Simple, easy, and safe...always relying on her reputation and "artistry" for the judges to inflate her marks at the expense of others. Opinions? How could it possibly be more blatant in these videos? Kwanatics are blinded by their worship.

  • @allenglandlawns Don't generalize me as a "Kwanatic" because YOU disagree with my views. That's juvenile and lame. At least I am honest and objective with my views. Yes, Sasha DID skate the same pretty and elegant programs over and over. It WAS pretty FLUFF. I could NEVER see her skating to Ariane, Salome, TFB, A Day in the Life, etc. She was one note with her artistry. She was NEVER audacious with her artistry like Kwan. Miraculous Mandarin is the most audacious LP I have ever seen...

  • @Karosanyo Hmmm I think it's the realists who disagree with the Kwan Kween Krap. Me dishonest? Save that speech for the Kween of dishonesty herself. She delusioned herself into believing she was the best the US had to offer in 06...and wasn't it lovely to see her try to prove that! Her oh-so-graceful exit (more like limping off) was the cherry on top to such a sham of a career. =)

  • @allenglandlawns The realists? Which means the same opinions as yours? Kwan Kween Krap? How silly. Yes, I have read most of your posts and I find your opinions about Kwan dishonest. Do you really want to open the 2006 Olympic can of worms again? Get over it!

  • @Karosanyo How am I dishonest? I DO believe Kwan is a phony...not before I guess...I changed opinions about her and I stand by every word I say now.

  • @allenglandlawns You're dishonest about her skating... I have read your older posts. Yes, I do believe that you think that Kwan is a "phony". I just think that your opinions of her personally affects your opinions about her skating. I do think that you like her skating but you hate her personally....

  • @Karosanyo ehh her skating is mediocre. Can be pretty but she hardly does that but even then it just conceals her lack of athleticism. She was never willing to push the envelope athletically and artistically...content with skating same old and safe...just to different music. As you eloquently put it..a "one note" skater. Sasha was refreshing and exciting. I believe she was given level 3s and 4s while Kwan was stuck with 1s and 2s under COP...something of that sort.

  • @allenglandlawns I don't believe anything that just say about Michelle Kwan's skating anymore... You're not honest (you once stated that her artistry was "stylish" and "innovative" in one of your rare honest posts). She was never willing to push the envelope artistically? No other woman pushed artistry like Kwan did (I never saw anything like Salome before she came on the scene). She was so musical and versatile. She also brought back great older moves like the charlotte and the falling leaf.

  • @allenglandlawns "AS you eloquently put it.."one note" skater."

No, you and I both know that I was speaking about Sasha... There was refreshing and exciting when she first came on the scene, but her artistry became redundant fast. She had beautiful artistry, but she just wasn't very versatile like Kwan. Kwan only competed once under COP and her programs weren't made for the COP... I would have liked to have seen her fully completed SP and LP by Tatiana Tarasova.

  • @Karosanyo Hahaha I think EXACTLY of Kwan as you think of Cohen. If anyone is boring or ONE NOTE it was the Kwan herself. Sasha is daring and just so bloody breathtaking to watch. I don't know what you see in Kwan but any casual sports fan will think Sasha is MUCH better and more fun to watch. Only the delusioned Kwan worshippers find their Kween refreshing...as jason101 put it... "can't separate the person from the skater"...hence the terrible commentating from Dick in this video.

  • @allenglandlawns Exactly? I don't think so. I also don't go on Sasha's videos and post vindictive comments about her. Kwan was far from "boring" (from 1995-2003). There was nothing "daring" about Sasha's skaing. Name me a program from Sasha that was as daring as Kwan's Salome or Miraculous Mandarin. Kwan had so many versatile programs. Sasha artistry WAS one note. Just ask Yuna about how much she loves Kwan's artistry. Kwan IS more influential than Sasha.

  • @Karosanyo Easy answer to that...ALL of Sasha's programs were more 'daring and courageous than Kwan's. She took risks and was magnificent...she had to pay for her FALLS where Kwan was all but praised for the artistry in hers. And you can hear on many many other videos that 'Kwan fell, but it certainly didn't disrupt the flow and she got highly inflated marks. Kwan just hung on forever...so much for influence and it was NOT a good influence...it was an insult to the true athletes and champions.

  • @getrealandsee Which ones? I need you to be more specific... I have watch all of Sasha's programs and NONE were as daring and difficult as Salome, Taj Mahal, Ariane, TRV, Miraculous Mandarin, etc. What risks did Sasha take? Falling on her ass all of the time? Sasha IS the one who never paid for her falls. Who in the hell of heard of an Olympic silver going to someone that fell badly twice and two footed two other jumps? She NEVER gave a clean LP at Worlds as well.

  • @getrealandsee Kwan won 5 Worlds titles landing 7 triples 3 out of the 5 times (six for the other two). Even Kwan's very good six triple performance at the 2002 Worlds is better than all of Sasha's performances at Worlds. Kwan was a real athlete and champion. I am still waiting for you to name me a performance from Sasha as great as Kwan's 1996 and 2000 Worlds performances...

  • @getrealandsee AMEN! Look down this thread and read jason101other's posts. He sums it up very well! And yes, Sasha is daring and let her skating do all the talking. Her crazy spins, crazy flexibility, crazy positions, you'd have to be blind not to see she has "risk" and talent written all over her. Kwan relied on the judges inflating her marks. As for the "Kwan was daring by skating to diff music" crap, how exactly is that daring and risky? You don't make buttsplats bc the music is different.

  • @allenglandlawns Sasha was NEVER "daring" with her artistry or jumps. I always said that her flexibility and spins were her best moves (Kwan's COE spiral was still superior). You would have to be "blind" not see the "risk"? There was nothing risky about any of her program. Her spins were great but she did the same ones over and over. Kwan's choreography to that music WAS daring. Buttsplats? She fell at the '96, 2000-2001, 2003 Worlds? You're talking out of your ass.

  • @Karosanyo Ooo wiggle, jiggle, pepto faces, flapping arms...so scary...must tire the poor dear so much....so risky...she might bumble and stumble out of that "choreography" and go boom boom on her behind. OMG what a joke.

  • @allenglandlawns Even YOU stated tht Kwan's program were "innovative" and "stylish" . That was when you were mature and objective with your comments... The fact that you're unable to back up your views in a truly honest manner is the true "joke"...

  • @Karosanyo that's cuz she's an effing hypocrite, Karosanyo...:)

  • @Karosanyo same ones over and over? That's the simple and safe Kwan. Might have done variations of simple moves but none contend with the difficulty of Sasha's even if they were the same. As for Kwan's spiral? SAME AND OLD. Stuck that big ole' leg behind her for 10 yrs of same, old, and simple. Hardly can do a biellmann (that's difficult, no?)...zero comparison to Sasha's WOW factor spirals.

  • @allenglandlawns NAME ME PROGRAMS FROM SASHA AS INNOVATIVE AND DIFFICULT AS KWAN'S. You're unable to do that... YOU even stated that Kwan's program were innovative. Name me a program by Sasha as innovative as Kwan's Salome or TRV. , etc. Kwan's COE spiral was vastly superior to Sasha's slow spirals with poor edging. Kwan's COE spiral was more difficult than Sasha's. Kwan back spirals and charlottes were more of a "WOW" factor than Sasha's.... Sasha NEVER did a spiral as great as 2:28...

  • @Karosanyo Hmm...let me think...wait...oh right basically ALL of Sasha's programs are >>> over any of Kwan's mediocre and syrupy sap. None of this safe, simple, wiggle, jiggle, arm-flapping. Did you not SEE Sasha's spirals? Her 06 spirals in particular? Those are out of this world! Even Kwan's biggest cheerleader Dick Button said Kwan's spiral isn't as great as others. Kwan couldn't do another decent spiral if it bit her on the behind.

  • Comment removed

  • @allenglandlawns Figure skating is a subjective sport. Under the 6.0 system, a skater was rewarded for their consistency. Kwan's spiral, though the SAME AND OLD has become a SIGNATURE move of hers. From the time she first performed it during the 1996-1997 season, that one move was hers. Though I agree Sasha has great extention on her spirals, that does that not make it any better than Michelle's. It comes down to preference. And how many skaters actually do a great biellmen these days? :)

  • @TeamKween2010 I couldn't agree more. I've seen so many ugly beilmans lately. And I do think the sprials are subjective. It's sort of just an opinion thing because obviously they both had some of the best spirals the sport has ever seen. I just think it's crazy that everyone's fighting so hard over it all.

  • @allenglandlawns Well Jason is as moronic and out of the loop as you are, you British poppet...so move along now, you're smelling up the joint...pip pip, cheerio..buh bye now..

  • @allenglandlawns Only delusioned Kwan worshippers? More lame statements from you because you disagree. You just don't know that difference between fact and opinion. Any casual sports fan will think that Sasha is much better? Another ignorant assumption. I don't understand how any serious skating fan can think that Sasha was better than Kwan. When did Sasha ever give a 7 triple performance at a major like Kwan did at the '95, '96, 2000, 2001 Worlds, '98 Olympics, 98 Nationals?

  • @allenglandlawns Actually, you're the one that can't separate the "person" from the skater... Think about it....

  • @Karosanyo Oh yes, I would have looked FORWARD to seeing Kwan compete in Torino with COP programs...actually more like crash and burn in Torino. Instead she chickened out...not willing to make a dolt of herself again and instead slithered off like a snake...making the sport and the Olympics look like a joke.

  • @allenglandlawns You wanted to see Kwan "crash" and "burn"? You enjoy ripping people apart because it makes you feel better about yourself...

  • Comment removed

  • @allenglandlawns I totally agree...I would have loved to see Kwan actually compete but I highly doubt that she ever intended to...she had her own agenda and it didn't include actually skating. Dang, she robbed us of the comedy show but I guess the pity party and pathetic press conference must suffice. She DARED to say that she wouldn't risk her health...what an arrogant selfish loser.

  • @getrealandsee The only real "comedy show" was Sasha's long program at the 2006 Olympics... Her butt was on the ice more than her skates... You highly doubt that Kwan ever intended to compete? That's an ignorant assumption... Kwan is far from a "loser" as well.

  • @Karosanyo Ignorant assumptions is all Kwan does. Expecting 6s for showing up, that all gold medals was all but served up to her, and thinking she had a shot at Gold in Torino....but then reality struck and she scurried off with the facetime and cash she wanted. No respect for skating!

  • @allenglandlawns You have a serious obsession with Kwan. This is scary. You really think that she was "gifted" her 1996, 2000-2001, 2003 World titles?

  • @allenglandlawns No respect for you, Allenglandlawns. You have no self-respect as well...you are nothing but a hater and that's all you'll ever be...loser!

  • @allenglandlawns The only phony here is you, allenglandlawns..you are nothing but a cheap, low-down, hater who couldn't give a nice comment even if your pathetic life depended on it.. you are the epitome of classless, you witch

  • @Karosanyo that's ok, Karosanyo..this bitch allenglandlawns does this on other sites too..nothing but negative comments about US skaters...moan and groan bitch and complain..that all she does. She is a Moronska...

  • @allenglandlawns I wish she kept that program and worked on it. Name me a long program from Sasha that was as difficult as Kwan's TRV at the 2000 Worlds. Kwan had more moxie, athleticism, and fire in that one performance more than ALL of Sasha's put together (love that charlotte at the very end where she doesn't hold on to her leg for support). Simple, easy, and safe? You just can be mature and honest with your views anymore. You once stated that Kwan's programs were difficult and stylish.

  • @allenglandlawns That was one of the very few times that you were honest with your views about Kwan. The judges NEVER inflated her marks at world level! Yes, it's YOU that can't accept other people's HONEST opinions (you once stated that you hate it when people gush over Kwan). I find some of your comments to be schizophrenic.

  • @Karosanyo you tell that bitch, Karosanyo!!! :)

  • @allenglandlawns same thing with your Push-en-go fans who worship their 'god' Evgeny..queer name, too! LOL

  • @jason101other AMEN to that! Kwan is so overrated. So much attention is on her mediocrity that others forget that there ARE better skaters out there. Lots of titles, lots of bling, lots of 6s...just handed to her...but the real justice of it all is that she will NEVER EVER wear the Olympic Gold...the medal that MEANS everything esp to Kwan.

  • @allenglandlawns Overrated like Tara Lipinksi? Sasha Cohen? All the Russian pairs and Ice Dancers? That ugly mother Evgeny Push-en-go...hardly, a-hole.

  • @jason101other "you can't argue with kwan lovers-- their love of her is visceral. and because of that, they cannot objectively see that she is not really that great at all."

What a great way of putting it! That and the rest of your post...all in a nutshell! Sasha's artistry surpasses anything Kwan brings but the Kwan lovers are so in love with their Kween that they can't seem to judge her skating objectively. And to add to that, they like to make up arbitrary excuses to justify their beliefs =)

  • @allenglandlawns Kwan's lovers are so in love with her that we can't view her objectively? This is just some more of your ineffectual reverse psychology and projection techniques.... You're the one that is unable to be objective about Kwan. I am always honest about her skating (Tara deserved the OGM, etc.). Sasha's artistry was always redundant.. Michelle Kwan's versatile artistry was superior to Sasha's. That's my honest opinion. Make up arbitrary excuses to justify their beliefs? Lame.

  • @allenglandlawns same way you practically screw Plushenko and other so-called 'gifted' skaters...You are so totally blind to the fact that Kwan has ruled ladies saking for so long and all of OUR favorites have been wiped up off the ice with her amazing talent...get a life, a-holes

  • @jason101other just like Plushenko and others??

  • There are plenty of skaters who can do triple/triples not everyone can grab hold of an audience. Michelle's greatness was her ability to do something that can't be taught. She didn't have the best jumps or spins but she always had the most complete package & save for a couple of Olympic free skates - she knew how to compete with what she had. It's like a swimmer winning with bad stroke technique...that's what makes her a great athlete!

  • a totally overrated skater. She never improved her skating for years-- she just stayed the same, all the while putting out all kinds of statements trying to make it out like she was an artist improving her standard. B.s. She also could never come up with a real triple-triple combination, but was relying on the judges overscoring of her to pull her through.

  • @jason101other you wish be Michelle Kwan!! ! you wish have her grace and humildity as a person, and you wish even to learn to skate, and if you are a figure skater you wish even to skate just in straight line like michelle!! I know its your personal opinion, but I am totally desagree

  • @jason101other What an ignorant statement. She never improved her skating for years? Yes, she did. She never landed a more difficult triple-triple, but skating 7 triples on a consistent basis is far from easy. Her programs were almost always great and difficult as well. There's more to skating than 3/3s. I also liked that she tried the 3Z-2L and 3T-2L. She did improve with her speed and footwork in 2003. Her COE spirals were also the best. Kwan was never overscored at world level.

  • @Karosanyo I stand by my statements. She developed security in knowing that, while others were out there pushing the envelope, she didn't have to because she's "michelle kwan" and she knew the judges always over score her. She was not versatile at all. If you turn off the music and watch her recordings, her body movements, everything were always the same. Her spins were slow and not inventive at all. Every year, basically the same program just moves put in different spots. She never got better

  • Comment removed

  • @jason101other I actually think that Kwan was underscored at the 1995, 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2004 Worlds (even the commentators thought so). Her 2001 layback was not "inventive"? Her spins were good. Who were these other skaters that were pushing the envelope when Kwan was still skating? Who do you think is versatile with their artistry? I want to see your views.

  • @jason101other You think that Rach and TFB were the same? You think that Salome and Ariane were the same? You think that Lyra and TRV were the same? You think that A Day in the Life and DOD were the same? I could go on and on. Michelle Kwan was the most versatile female figure skater of all time. Nobody can come close to her artistry in terms with her being versatile with it.....

  • @Karosanyo Okay Jasonmoron...why don't you put on your skates and let's see how a real 'pro' does it! Really! we would LOVE to see you fall on your sorry fat azz and make a fool out of yourself like you really are! Come on...put it on youtube so we can all have a good laugh..you and your dyke friend allenglandlawns. what a laugh THAT would be! :)

  • @oofahman LOL, wrong person! I sometimes get people mixed up as well.

  • @jason101other No, Jasonina, not overrated...just plain damned excellent at what she does..there is no question in my mind that you and your other hatefilled cronies posting here are nothing...nothing at all and NONE of you or us could hold our own against Miche lle. You and your fellow poppets are a disgrace to the human race and your jealousy and unwarranted hate will be the end of you. She has more grace, dignity class and TALENT than you could ever hope for, loser...now, go play in traffic :)

  • The Uncrustables add was very distracting....

  • First skater in the group and she got 6s? Only Kwan...only Kwan. A title just handed to her...Elena had the most difficult and athletic (skating is a sport, no?) performance in both the short and long but nothing will stop the Kwan from claiming yet another notch in her hardware.

  • @allenglandlawns OMG! Don't you have anything better to do than post dishonest and vindictive posts about someone that you don't even know personally? Kwan deserved her marks. Elena's programs were atrocious! Did you even see her "spins" and "spirals"? Figure skating isn't just about jumps. I agreed with the Brits and the American commentators. She gave a GREAT performance and deserved her 5th World title.

  • @Karosanyo GO GET THAT BITCH, KAROSANYO!!! woohoo! :)

  • @allenglandlawns just like your snobby soviet paris and ice dancers...all just given to them. even with mistakes they won..hmmmm...Soviet bloc favoritism?? Of course...

  • I was in the stands that night with my Mom and my husband. I can't even begin to describe the energy that was there. When Michelle went into her straight line foot work, there was not a soul sitting down. We couldn't even hear her music, that's how loud and electric the crowd was. If a skater can be lifted by positive crowd energy, we sent her straight thru the strastophere! It was such a joy to watch the medal ceremony. What a fabulous skater.

  • Total goosebumps at the end when she raised her arms in the ending pose and the entire audience rose with her, wow what a moment.

  • i watch tis on video before i go ice skating. i remember since tis championship that the michelle kwan giant flag was on mci center in dc...I love that! and yes! michelle kwan is my alltime idol in this sports :)

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my favorite athlete of all time. Michelle, you are incomparable! I love you. :)

  • there are a lot of skaters out there who are really good but the passion and emotion, MICHELLE wins it all....so artistic that she can affect the audience by her performance..

  • One of the greatest skaters of all time.

  • to me she is my olympic champion

  • Isn't it sad that the ugly, career-less has-been Tara Lipinski just spends her whole day everyday bashing Kwan and doesn't even have the courage to use her real name and instead hides under 'allengslandlaws,' 'getrealandsee,' 'ithinkformyself,' kwansangsog,' etc.? What a COWARD. But not s surprise, really, since she was too chicken to compete again after shrieking her wide, ugly mouth to the skies being gifted that OGM...

  • @allenglandlawns

You clearly know nothing about Kwan. Please move on with your tired trolling attempt.

  • 11 years later and still bitter! lol

Michelle Kwan, the heart and passion, just terrific!

  • @allenglandlawns many people liked michelle's performances when she competed, and still like to watch her videos on youtube nowadays. it means everything, no matter win or lose, michelle is a true champion and her performances are true gold programs. michelle already took another journey and got her degrees. face it, you loser.

  • many years past, people still like to watch michelle's performances. michelle's artistry is a true beautiful thing. And still several people bash michelle on youtube when watching her videos. If you don't like MK, don't watch her performances. otherwise, waste of time, and you'r a true loser in real life. Michelle already got her master degree when you were bashing. Michelle Kwan- a real winner and true champion.

  • @allenglandlawns Michelle competed in front of all spectators and judges who from different countries, she cheated? and how? michelle got 5 golds 3 silvers and 1 bronze in worlds, so u think judges were not fair and helped michelle to get all medals? i doubt that u have persecution mania, pity. if u like someone's fallen or stumble jumps performances, and think that fallen jumps should have got golds, it's your taste, not all others. the professional judges' opinions were different from u.

  • @rwz7 It's funny that this british bitch Allengland/getreal says Michele 'cheated'?? HOW can the skater actually cheat? You sound like a little greade school kid who can't get his/her way..grow up, british bitch..

  • @allenglandlawns U are so terribly boring...SNORE....ZZZZZZZZZZ.......

  • This will always go down as one of my favorite world championships. Kwan in what ended up being a glorious send off internationally (Tosca was great in 2004, but only at nationals). Goebel's arguably best performance at Worlds (sorry, never was a fan of Plushenko's choreo that year). Bourne and Kraatz beating the Europeans at their own game and finally getting World gold. And the best, Shen and Zhao's Turandot. What a year!

  • There is such a huge void in women's figure skating without her. Scott Hamilton once said of Midori Ito that it would be another 50 years before we'd see anyone else like her. I think it will be another 100 years before we see anyone else like Michelle Kwan.

  • @allenglandlawns It's all too typical nowadays of people like you- those who will always focus on the Olympics and all too quickly forget the depth of influence she brought during her decade-long competitive career. Did I wish Michelle Kwan had won the Olympic Gold? Absolutely. I'm 32 and I've watched figure skating my whole life and I believe that Kwan revolutionized skating. Watch her 1996 Worlds performance. Her international successes opened the doors for Tara, Sarah, and Sasha.

  • @allenglandlawns ...i detect jealousy and meanness....tsskk...tskkkk....they are an evil's advocate...too bad...

  • Michelle Kwan was the reason I watched Figure Skating. She was perfect!! She is truly missed!!

  • SHES BEAUTIFULLLLLLLLLLLLL (CLAAPS)! Thank you so much for uploading!

  • haha :) anyways what do you think about the recent skaters?

  • michelle kwan is the best skater in the world

  • SASHA, WAS NOT BETTER THAN MICHELLE COME ON, EVEN IF MICHELLE HAD FALLEN, IT'S THE HEART AND THE SOUL AND THE EMOTION THAT SHE BROUGHT THAT SHE GAVE TO US, I LOVE HER!!!!.

  • SHE IS THE BEST WOMEN SKATING IS NO LONGER THE SAME WITHOUT HER, I MISS HER SO MUCH, SO MUCH, SHE IS THE BEST.....

  • @acecashexpress Ever since Michelle Kwan and Sasha Cohen left, It has never been the same.

  • @filipinoICEsk8ter are u crazy, look at yuma kim's 007 performance

  • @Garudanime AND I CARE WHY??!!!!!!

  • Her spins are so damn beautiful.

  • @anubethc45 well surya bonaly is also known b/c of that incident in 94 when she refused to accept the fact that she lost to yuka sato for the gold medal so i wouldnt say that she is that great of an example either
