My cat makes similar noises at nite or early in the morning when she's alone downstairs. But hers go up in pitch at the end and sound more like a wailing banshee! It's truly painful to hear. I feel like she's saying, "Where are you? Why have you abandoned me down here in the cold and lonely living room?" It's sad to hear but also interesting. My cat also looks like almost a twin of Tiggy - very similar markings.

i had a cat called Zoe (Persian) and she went really frail after are other cat died Smokey..i think she was telling us that she missed him. When we left her outside she cry like a banshee to come in, she'd climb on the window standing up praying to come in looking straight at you, . ..Also she would do this at about 6am in the morning and if we'd left her in she would cry sooo loudly and go up each step of stairs and cry louder and louder!! lol
