I think Hepburn would totally get it. She was a trailblazer who lived in the present, not the past. She'd be the first person to say, it's a new house for a new day and new owners. And even if it's not to her personal taste, she'd want the house to be enjoyed by the living, not enshrined to the dead.
I'd have tempered all the white with some very, very (very) light greys and/or blues here and there, but I think it's quite beautifully done for the most part.
ugh - very unsympathetic renovation - they've ruined it - Hepburn would have hated seeing it turned into a Calvin Klein advert - she must be turning in her grave - very sad - the end of an era of character and taste - the first thing she would say is "take all my pictures out of that dentists surgery!"
The cement signature "Katharine Martha Houghton" is by her mother not her niece.
