You know... I remember listening to him singing the Firefly theme song and thinking "Wow. I'm glad he chose someone else to sing it." But listening to this, I think I made a mistake saying that. Didn't realize Joss was such a good singer.
wow I don't even remember writing that comment. Just love this song so much happened to stumble upon this video again. Probably my favorite commentary song because what it's talking about is so apt.
I love his brain so much :) And he's so awesome. I honestly don't know what I'd do without Joss Whedon and his creations. Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Dollhouse, Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog....
I wish This American Life Live! would make a dvd. . . for last year and this year's showing. I love this part with Joss Whedon but I want to see the entire event again. and again. and again.
The part right before he sings, "I sang some things I didn't mean," originally has his family members singing to him about how he'll lose that fame if he keeps that type of thought process going. And yet the song still works without it.
in 1820 a man named fredrick osloft one day he was working in his lab until a ghost came by and killed him the next morning fredrick was nowhere to be seen 100 years later two boys went in the lab as a dare the boys where never seen again where aparently murdered now that u have read this comment tonight when u go to sleep the two boys and fredrick will come and murder you but you can stop this by posting this comment on 5 other videos by midnight
Glad you guys enjoyed the video. I'm pretty sure it's the only one online where you can see Joss performing music in front of a live audience.
The reason the picture is sometimes stretched is because this is a video of a live broadcast of a stage performance...so all the conversion caused some distortion, sorry.

@BambiArmani I so agree. I don't know what I would be doing right now if it wasn't for his amazing directing/writing skills.

This recording doesn't really do it justice - he sings really well. I'm totally surprised by that.
You can find a transcript on the original site.
Of course shittytube censors you if you try to post a link.

You're a total liar. You aimed a camera at your computer monitor and recorded it with a camera.

@TheHeiney the TAL live show was broadcast in several movie theaters across the country LIVE, so that's the screen you can see.

It looks "stretched" because it was clearly filmed from an angle off a projection on a cinema screen. Probably with a cell phone camera.
Anyway, I like this song. Both this version and the one on "Commentary!".
