Hey, skarm. Something to try: When you start a game(all for DS), and you have a more advanced game(and two DS's at that), preferably after Elite 4, you can mate two pokemon and trade the egg with a bidoof or sentret from the new game, and hatch the egg. The pokemon will obey all your commands and you are free to train it. You should try that on a pokemon gray walkthrough with skarmory.

maximum gameplay until soul silver freezes is 3 minutes. so play for 3 minutes only, then save and turn off the game. then turn it back on, then go to the utility and re-check the code so no blackscreen and play for 3 minutes again, then repeat same process.

The time of your DS runs to the time of the game itself. So if you can catch any pokemon that are around there, you just change the time of your DS!!
