I would say man i wouldn't go putting in sticks that have just been rinsed off that's how to bring in infections. Things should soak in warm water for at least 24 hours really other than that looks great :)
That is a really cool setup you have there,im trying to convince my better half to let us have something similar in the living room instead of getting fish lol,i tried persuading her to let me put my python down there but she is having none of it :)
@86Dannyboi show her plenty of dart frogs if they can't get her attention away from fish nothing will there's more interesting species but dart's do draw the eye
im so glad you got the log in there you said you got it just before you did the video and i think the tank would have been really boring looking without it so great job man!!! :)
your set up is my favorite that i have seen. Altho ive heard that gravel is not a good substrate as they could swallow it and get impaction or watever its called. Have u had any problems?
Also ive also worried bout the toads get hurt by filters, it makes me think that they could get sucked up against it, have u had any issues? urs is hidden so its not so bad.
Where did you get the base for the land part on the left? Do you have the product's name or did you make it? I am trying to replicate this and two other tanks and incorporate them into one and would like to use this base. I have been searching for a new habitat for my newts because mine is fairy plain.
Hi, this video is excellent. Just wondering: How often do you have to clean it with this set up and what do you actually do to clean it? We're planning to set something about somewhat like this.
Hey this is a great video! It showed me alot! If anybody could help me, please check out my videos, they will be posted every Sunday at 7:00 P.M. And on Monday at 2:00 P.M. Thank you so much! And once again, great video!
Hey can those fbts be kept in a ten gal with about 8 in of water? There is a large rock exposed where the filter let's out, idk how much land they need. Nice tank man
@pamtnbkrms I've tried 3 setups: a majorly terrestrial, a half and half, and a majorly aquatic (8'' of water), and I have to say that this guy did it right. I'd say keep your water to about 4'' at its deepest just because one of a friend of mine's drowned in I believe 6'' of water. Besides, making a half water half land habitat's a lot more fun and creative than specializing in one type.
No that kid has a point.. Fire Belly Toads have a toxin in there skin that is poisonous to other frogs, newts, ect.... Good setup but I HIGHLY advise you to separate them... If you dont believe me google it
@MrSummerisHOT I'd say no lower than 5.5 gallons for one toad, 3-4 can comfortably fit in a 10 gallon though. If you want more, I can't safely sure but I could see a good 9 or 10 in a 20 gallon, especially a long.
@MorphtronicMania I have one right now, had it for a few months and it keeps itself entertained. Just get something for it to hide under and it'll spend hours upon hours trying to find the perfect spot. Also feeding time-- I've heard it's more fun to watch with multiple toads but it's still pretty great with one.
@drkingslend He put synthetic (silk or plastic I think, not 100% sure) literally in the top of the filter. That way, the water coming out immediately got caught on the leaves and spread out to eliminate any major current in the water. This can be done with almost any filter. This is a great idea if you plan on feeding your toad any fish as mine had some trouble when the filter's water went straight in.
I do have a question....When you used the rocks to disguise the filter, did you silicone them in place or anything like that? Can you give more details as to how you arranged them? I had read that you shouldn't put gravel in with the toads, as they could swallow it. Have you had any issues with that?

nice setup i love it. is there anyway you could make a video telling or showing how you put it together and what objects/brands you used?? that would be alot of help!
I have kept many amphibians throught he years. Years ago I kept fire bellies and American toads together in a similar set up. They did great for awhile. This is not something that happened quickly. It took months. Let us know if you have more success with mixing them. Beautiful set up.
