  • So even though every record book, and every biologist I've talked to, not to mention the extensive DNA testing done by CDFG, classify these deer, as Columbian Blacktails, you think they're wrong.

No offense but I'm going with the experts

Please also consider these deer were filmed only 30 miles from the Pacific Ocean and live 150 miles from the Sierras, California's equivalent of the Cascades. I would love to see proof of your theory if available

    Thanks for commenting

  • in responce to the black tail muley cross deer dying off... if you hunt central washington the klickitat river area all you will see is bench deer and the high cascades of oregon are loaded with bench deer ... these videos are great and they show very nice bucks but they are not true columbia black tales

  • you can call these black tails if you wish but they are Muley Blacktail cross .... they are bench deer... they are considered B&C black tail in california and southern Oregon but in central Oregon cascades and in Washington they are scored as Mule Deer... The Tail is the key to identification... A true black tail has a longer tail and no white shows around th sides of the tail. A true mule deer has a rope tail with a white ass and a little ball of black on the tip....

  • anyone of thos deer woold look nice on my woll lol

  • Were these filmed in southern oregon? Josephine / Jackson county? If they were I know for a fact that the blacktails ARE bigger down there. They could be a cross breed..... BUT according to fish and game about 95% of Blacktail/Mule deer offspring will die. I gaurantee that those bucks are blacktails. I have friends who hunt down there and kill monsters. Not to mention I have seen bucks that big killed in Douglas county on the WEST side of the freeway! Thats coast range gypet! Get a clue!

  • gypjet,

Get a book on deer identification. The deer in my videos tails look NOTHING like muledeer tails. Not to mention they have 150lbs bodies and 17 inch ears. Every deer was filmed within recognized B&C boundaries.

  • I hope the rumors are true regarding Boone & Crocket making a new Blacktail catagory called "California Blacktail". I am a taxidermist in Oregon and I know every reputable taxidermist from BC down to the CA border and bucks like these are one in a million in the Pacific Northwest. Either you are God or there must be some super nutrients in California that are not found in the other states. That is of course BS. It is called MULE DEER contamination. Most of those tails scream Muley.

  • well do you know bob berry. Cause you claim to know everyone?

  • @gypjet I smell something fishy also about this video !

Any deer like these is such numbers have got to be on privet land closed to the public .

  • @gypjet well all those tails look like blacktail 100% to me, and most likely it is on private land, if you put in the time and effort that this guy does you would see them to

  • where was this taken? I hunt blacktail... these are nice great bucks!

  • did you take these clips
