Thanks Rick, for touching my life with your talent. I feel it was very unfair how you were treated by a certain someone during a certain time in your great career, but nonetheless, you always maintained a smooth demeanor, a professional persona, and a classy soul. I'll never forget you. RIP, and God bless.
Richard was the soul of the band , No one can imitate his fingerings because of his odd style , he was unique , David said there are songs he can never play again without him
I think of my father when i hear this tune,he was a Pink Floyd fan BIG TIME, he died in 2006,he is with both of them now.He is probably freaking out over the deaths of two members.rip dad.
Saw Pink FLoyd many times since the first concert for me Animal '77...the rest is history...if you haven't seen FLOYD - you ve never seen a REAL concert! RIP Richard ~ Wish You Were Here !!!

I have pledged my soul to Satan and if I am under the grace of God and can see Roger Waters, Nick Mason an David Gilmour perform once again together as a band. No matter who plays keyboard, I will hear the voice of Richard Wright, if only in my dreams.
Wow, only 16 retards came to this thread. *shrug* But who's keeping count on such a legend anyway. That thumb down button should be banned from this thread.
R.I.P Rick, like Gilmour once said "He was the glue that used to hold us together". Guys, i made of a cover of Paintbox, a great song from Rick, check it out: ?v=8rtqpMBaPy4
He reminds me of my grandfather who passed away when I was 9...because he looked exactly like him...it's so hard... I miss two men who had a big importance in my life....may your souls rest in peace both
Ok,This is The best !!! Thanks to ALL WHO contributed to this,I love the family we are feeling here.RIP RICK WRIGHT!!! we love all over the world.............................
Rich was the brains behind all of Pink Floyds laid back work. Such as US and Them. Have you checked out some of Richards solo albums? You can obviously see the influence he had on the band. Hes my favorite band member. We love you Richard.
@Mrlogan2914 The tribute song to Syd was shine on you crazy diamond. I was fortunate enough to see Pink Floyd at Soldiers field in Chicago when they were doing there Animals concert. The best outdoor concert I've ever been to, by the best concept band ever!
i saw them 3 times in my life,88 89 94,since there no other bands, the 1st time ever i listened to them in 1979 i was kidnapped and still now am 41yo and can't stop stay off from them,i've dreamt of Syd getting to the live8 having the last gig ever...a year later he left forever,2years later Rick passed, now we just have ashes of them, but their spirits never die...the soul never die. They taught us to love each other with their songs, they explored places and the inner sub-conscious...thx
Here are some photos of Rick while I was on stage at a PF concert in 1970 in San Diego - Google cacheagency. Once there, click on "Photographers and Collections", scroll to the bottom of the page and click on page 6. They were the opening act to Hot Tuna and Leon Russell.
How fortunate we were to be alive while Richard and his band mates were alive. Double fortunate for me that I was alive and attending their concerts (3). The most profound musical band ever to walk the face of the earth. Thanks Richard for your contribution and Thank You - Pink Floyd for your creativity!!!
Now this is an honest tribute. Richard Wight the keyboardest whom never said No (unlike other Pink Floyd members) RIP and tell that other shining diamond, we need some help down here!!!! god bless Rick.
@Fetcha200 I gotta chance to see Pink Floyd in '94 on their Pulse tour and also roger waters when he came to Cleveland some years later.....I highly recommend the experiences.

Running over the same old ground, what have we found? The same old fear. I WISH YOU WERE HERE! We'll never forget you my friend. Keep playing in that Great Gig in the Sky with Syd. </3 ='[
It'clear that Death doesn't look to who you are. neither you're a homeless nor the most important man in the world. So the diseases they do... just don't care. None the less, I ask my self why don't they make an exception for people like him.. 65 years is, nowadays, a premature age for leaving this world. I'm deeply convinced that this World would have needed your music a very long time more.
Music, and this kind of music, is one of the few things left able to change this world in a better way.
I was fortunate to see Pink Floyd several times in the '70's. Over 30 years has past and hundreds of concerts and still no show comes close to the Floyd shows. Thanks for the great memories and RIP Richard you were the most underrated one of them all, (you were "Pink").
Richard Wright was always of great importance to Pink Floyd's sound. That is an opinion I always held, also long before he unfortunately passed away. He was a major musical contributor during their prime.
I am sad that I never got to see this great band live. I hoped they would do one last tour, but, alas, now one of the most important chapters in the history of progressive rock is forever closed.
What we have left, however, is a mighty musical legacy with many great albums and songs.
I worked for Showco Entertainment in the early 80's, and was a stage hand when Pink floyd came to Texas Stadium in Dallas, Texas....It was an honor to work for these guys, it was the best concert i had ever worked. I was honored enough to be able to speak to all of them before the show(shows) to critique their preferences. They were all really down to earth guys....NO GROUP WILL EVER PUT ON A SHOW LIKE PINK FLOYD DID. And when Richard Wright died, a great era in music died with him. R.I.P. RICK
Wright was genius , a great compositor and a very cleaver man, his sound and experimentation created great places in imagination :) He is in another universe

He was like the angel behind Pink Floyd: without him, PF wouldn't even existed. For example, he tuned Roger's guitar 'cause he was the only one who assissted to a music school, and allways they talked to the camera he was the humblest and the one that best expressed... Goodbye, Rick, we'll allways miss you :(
Thank you Richard Wright, you brought so much happiness to myself as well as many people around the world with your special gifts with music. You are HOME now, let your SOUL prosper in the Divine light, you are cherished greatly amongst the angels as well as us here on Earth. You shall continue your gifts in the Heavens as you did here throughout eternity. I look foreward to meeting you when it is my time to go HOME.
I wish he would come back his family miss him so much also his band and fans all i can say i miss you so much R.I.P my friend love to everyone his family ,and band and fans ,i play your records ,and tapes and here you thats how i know your still there love Shirlsxx
<<<, FIlls me with such good emotion to find these wonderful comments here. So good to know there are other people who felt exactly the same as I do. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, and I couldnt have said it better myself. We miss you Richard Wright, few seemed to know where much of the magic behind pink floyd came from.... yes from everyone, but especially from you..

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, and I couldnt have said it better myself. We miss you Richard Wright, few seemed to know where much of the magic behind pink floyd came from.... yes from everyone, but especially from you..
