always loved the power vocals of this combo , but really disliked the electronic sound/vibe, i visaualised the sound with moden day guitar and say to my self , wow,!! .,, a top ten hit ,, even soild gold number ,then new romantic, fuck em` got a lot to answer for ,, what a crock,, still a great rock voice, one of the best i have heard, still until this day
Great song and Tony Hadley has a beautiful voice. Remember hearing this song of WAVE 103 in het game GTA: Vice City, while driving trough Downtown, it was amazing!
I saw Tony Hadley live last year, He tores with his own band nowadays. He has not lost it I tell you, Thing is that we've lost Spandau Ballet and ssssoooo many good 80's years.
I am 66 now. This came out when I was having my second chance at happiness. Some things work out - some things don't. But this was gold just as my memories of that time remain. Thanks for posting this.
The fun thing about seeing live clips like this is that you can see those typically eighties instruments like the Yamaha CP70 Electric Grand Piano and the Simmons Synthesizer drums. They were so cutting edge at the time but now they seems almost completely forgotten. At least the guy from Kean is bringing back the CP 70's sound in the limelight.
No, I assumed that credit referred to a MUSIC VIDEO played during the program, not a camera guy.
I could be wrong, but Joni Mitchell and Robert Palmer (R.I.P.) are bigger names than Greg Kihn. I had to Wikipedia him. This "Jeopardy" song is aight tho.
Good band their best song & the lead singer does have an awsome voice Tony Hadley not a huge fan but I have a few of their things. I agree get rid of the back-up singers & the group should sing backing like on the studio version. 80's Classic that made the top 10 in England & only made Top 40 in America it is a much better song then True in my eyes.
Damn that white boy can sing his arse off. Tony Hadley is sooooo not given his due respects these days. He is a legendary singer with immense natural ability.
Ooops, sorry! Just got to the end of the clip and it clearly is OGWT. My mistake, I don't remember audiences. Maybe I stopped watching it after whispering Bob was replaced.
Was hoping Norman would play sax here, but alas, I am disappointed . . .

it's fine the way it is. does everything have to be with guitars only? that's boring

Tony Hadley was only 23 when he sung this amazing song, a brilliant live performance.

This is of course the best performance Spandau Ballet has ever given, a sign of the New Romanticism in music.

One of the backup singers is Sam Brown, as in the song "Stop". Anyone else notice that one of the camera guys name was Greg Kihn! I wonder?

82-83 whistle test was usually done in front of an audience also they had some Whistle Test on the road programmes which would feature a concert.

Nice video of the Spands live. But not OGWT surely - there's some semblance of an audience.
