I have tried two tires. First Kumho V710's in 315/35/17 all around. Then I tried Hoosier A20's. I was disappointed with the Hoosiers. Loved the Kumhos.
I bought a used set of 17" CCW wheels. The stock rear wheels are 18" and the fronts are 17", so run 17" wheels both front and back throws off the speedometer a bit, but used 17" track wheels fit and they are much easier to find. Guys that run in SCCA and NASA car club races use 17" wheels a lot, thus the abundance of wheels and tire options.
The back end of the car came around because I got on the gas too hard, too soon coming out of the corner. I tried one correction and felt it was better to get off the track instead of ending up sideways, stopped in the middle of the road. The runoff area out of that corner was just grass. Better to get out of the way than ball up the car trying too hard to keep in on the pavement. There is a lot to be said for going off the track straight ahead and not sideways too.
Yeah - decided to leave my two off-track adventures on there. On the first one I got on the gas too quick and stepped the back end out. Traction and stability control were off and I was "playing" a bit to find the edge. Safe corner to do it. Not saying I did it intentionally, but you know... The second time off the track I botched the heel-toe downshift completely, but since then I have it down pretty good. Turn 7 at Putnam is a perfect corner for heel-toe.
Very nice race. Was that your son hitching a ride? I couldn't tell if the voice was male or female due to the lack of bass in the audio (no offense to the passenger of course)
Yeah, the wind sucked, plus the shaking of the image (the car wasn't shaking like that - lol). I just got a new camera which has a port for an external mic. That will help a lot as far as noise. I also can plug in a remote lens. I want to put the remote lens up on the nose of the car and then in the back. That will rock. Gonna use it on the mountain bike vids too. Stay tuned!
Nice save

Do you know how much HP does the Supercharged Z06 has? 630 HP like the ZR1?
DeScRuN 2 years ago
the older models are around 440 hp and the newer ('05 and up) are 505 hp.
TBucket5 2 years ago
I mean the Silver Z06 that appears in this film. DaveTozer wrote that it's Supercharged and I want to know how much HP it develops.
DeScRuN 2 years ago
I forget what kind of HP he had. He ended up tanking the motor that day. I'm not sure what happened.

I can't hear the great sound of the Z06 with the windows opened xD

What kind of tires are you running? What about brakes?

Stock 2001 Z06 engine (385 HP / 385 ft-lb torque), but instead of stock tires I run 315/35/17's.

@DaveTozer
stick in aftermarket air intakes for roughly $200 and you'll get roughly 25hp+
and you spun out because you over corrected

Glad he was man enough to keep it in there. Common mistake made on the track, he lifted too hard mid corner, tossing weight up front.
