I see you're the one who advertised that turbo GR 700 on ebay! I'm still using the GR 700, with an updated EPROM. Removed the whammy from the G 707 and had active EMGs installed. Seldom have any tracking problems.
So it's Reaktor loaded into a regular pc or laptop, the GI 20 and a guitar with a GK2? Saw another contest winner here who uses the GI 20 plus a Sound Canvas SC 8850. I don't think the 8850 is being produced anymore. BTW the GR 55 looks like a winner!
Great stuff. I was thinking of buying the GR 55 when it comes out, but now I'm not too sure anymore. Those flute sounds are amazing! can you tell me what software synths you were using for that? Regards, Hubert.
I am used Native Instruments Reaktor 5.0. The patch I am using is called Steampipe and it is a virtual modeling instrument. The guitar sound that opens this video is also from Steampipe. Also, when the dark break section hits, at 2:08, the dark pad sound is also from Reaktor. Reaktor is really amazing.
I'm not sure what to think about 2011 NAMM. Based on past performance, I would expect a software revision for the VG-99, VG-99 Version 2. By holding the Guitar Synth Challenge, Roland gets a lot of people making demos for their existing product line. The GR-20 is the oldest item in the current product line. I guess we will find out in a few weeks!
It is so refreshing to hear someone making actual music with MIDI guitar that isn't a bunch of non-rhythmic noises. This is EXCELLENT! I had no idea that Roland had a guitar synth challenge going. Thanks for posting this. Great playing and composition. Very inspiring!
with gi-20, and gk-3 can you record on reason?

I assumed russians play on 3 string ukulele and wooden spoons, and the music is very repetetive like blues

Some of your melodic lines remind me of Shawn Lane's earlier work...

Why do I think there may be some new Guitar Synth gear around the corner in Winter NAMM 2011. Fantastic playing here! Well done.
