The tape is quite a good trick for this, but some people say its not ok, but I think theses people that says its not correct never had to cleanup a toddler bed and room full of pee and poop (my 3yrs old boy Tyran is an artist in removing diapers during the night (he still needs them full time, not ready for the potty yet, even with a Onesie and back zipped footed sleepers, so I had to use the tape on it and he didn't like it at all.
