Pretty nice. Those SRT4s are quick (I won't call them Neons haha). I wonder what would be the outcome with a Carrera S or 4S. Those base Carreras aren't that quick at all, although they certainly look nice.
Srt 4 has nothing on a jeep srt 8, srt 8's are 420 hp and 420 ft lbs torque. I have raced several srt 4's in my srt 8 and they don't even compare. An srt 8 is twice the engine and twice the hp and torgue. There is no way an srt 4 can even compare
@gent226 They weigh under 3000 pounds and only lose like 10-14% to drive train loss. and they have a 2.4L 4 cylinder which is kinda big , look how much power one of those Evolutions make and this engine is bigger. No replacement for displacement. My close friend has an SRT4 makes over 400WHP i own a BMW M3 95 on corners i kick his but on straights he owns my life lol. its all about tuning man. ive seen little engines with right tune and build walk other cars, but it is just a highway car FWD.

400whp out of an SRT4 is cake lol. people are tossing down 325 wheel with 400ft lbs on stock turbo with Diablo sport pre loaded 93 octane tune, an exhaust, intake and either an opened up charge pipe and a TB. less then 1k in mods New. And you dont relly even need an intake cause they dont show any real gains over the stock box cause it was designed well. I know someone personally with 425 wheel on a 50 trim with a big FMIC Diablo sport, exhaust on stock TB. The SRT4 loves mods.

@porsche2021 i say its a real race because a stock 996 isnt all that much faster than a stock srt4. stock srt4s run high 13s compared to mid 13s for a base 996 carrera. and a 60 trim srt4 could be pushing anywhere from 350-400+ hp. thats 120hp or more over stock which would make the srt4 WAY faster than stock. this car could easily be running mid 11s with a 60 trim turbo. so thats why i believe this is a real race.
It is funny as hell to read people comments and arguments. I have a modded Srt-4 and thought the car is fun and fast, I really doubt it beat a Porsche. Porsche is built for performance from the engine, to the frame. Porsche has wider tires and rwd that counts. It's hard to control a car with even 400+ going to the front wheels that is the set back for the srt-4 but since dodge or chrysler group doesn't have a drive train for that sized car it's a set back in my personal opinion.

I love all the haters on here.. A 20k dollar car that can easily see 400+ hp for less then 10k in parts is impressive no matter how you slice it... @Aguirre693 It is a 911 not a Caymen. Though I will say your not the only one to confuse the two. The 2000 911 was only 300hp and 258ft/lb which made it a mid 13 second car with the 6-spd, and slower with the tiptronic. Big turbo Skittles are fast cars when they hook, hence the reason it went right around the 911. I would still rather own the slower 911 over the Skittle anyday.

In all honesty, if it was racing a porche or not, the srt4 is a pretty good car for the price, weight, acceleration, drivetrain especially front wheel drive, and decent gas milage. An all around good car for a simple tuner if ya ask me
Stock '04 SRT-4 has 230 bhp, does 0-60 in 5,3 sec, tops out at 153 mph.
Stock 996 has 300 bhp, does 0-60 in 5 sec flat, tops out at 174 mph.
Money in = more bhp out and that applies for both cars. The 996 will still go around corners a lot faster. And at the end of the day one of you are driving home in a Porsche, the other in a f'ckin Chrysler Neon...

I love neons, but in the end all this neon can do is go fast in a straight line. Any real racer knows smashing the gas on some highway isnt racing at all. You dont buy a porsche 911 for straight line power, you buy it for the class, the tradition, and the overall performance. I love SRT-4s, espec 1st gen swap srt-4s, but these are 2 compleatly different cars.
@Sp3edster01 Mags like Motortrend, Car and driver etc etc can be trusted, they test the cars as they come strate from the factory street tires and all. But they can drive so if you cant you will most likly be slower they what they run, if your reading shitty mags then they might be different but the ones a mentioned use top of the line testing facilitys and are usually 0.3 seconeds off in there acceleration quotes if that at most
@steelcityracer1320 -I for one don't believe car mags at all period. C&D tested the evo8 and ran mid 14's. Come on seriously we all know the Evo8 is a mid-high 13sec car stock. Too be honest the people that test the cars from mags, are just regularly ordinary mediocre drivers just like anyone else.
I have an 06 MS6 and have not ran at the track yet. But when i had my old 02 Sentra SE-R base 5spd i ran a 15.1@92mph with just an cold air intake. Mags ran high low 16's@87-88mph........Pathetic

But I will still prefer a japan car over it even though people over rate in these videos of vtec. I do not take the time to tune up cars (waste of money M.O.) I always owned acura and never had any issues other than reg tune ups. I cant see myself buying American not reliable enough for me.

An SRT4 with a 60 trim owns just about everything it comes up against. Off the line, fwd will be their disadvantage as you can CLEARLY see in the video. Can you not hear it spinning from launch all the way to halfway through 3rd in the 2nd race?! No way in hell that 996 hangs once the SRT got traction. PERIOD.

400whp out of an SRT4 is cake lol. people are tossing down 325 wheel with 400ft lbs on stock turbo with Diablo sport pre loaded 93 octane tune, an exhaust, intake and either an opened up charge pipe and a TB. less then 1k in mods New. And you dont relly even need an intake cause they dont show any real gains over the stock box cause it was designed well. I know someone personally with 425 wheel on a 50 trim with a big FMIC Diablo sport, exhaust on stock TB. The SRT4 loves mods.

@porsche2021 i say its a real race because a stock 996 isnt all that much faster than a stock srt4. stock srt4s run high 13s compared to mid 13s for a base 996 carrera. and a 60 trim srt4 could be pushing anywhere from 350-400+ hp. thats 120hp or more over stock which would make the srt4 WAY faster than stock. this car could easily be running mid 11s with a 60 trim turbo. so thats why i believe this is a real race.

It is funny as hell to read people comments and arguments. I have a modded Srt-4 and thought the car is fun and fast, I really doubt it beat a Porsche. Porsche is built for performance from the engine, to the frame. Porsche has wider tires and rwd that counts. It's hard to control a car with even 400+ going to the front wheels that is the set back for the srt-4 but since dodge or chrysler group doesn't have a drive train for that sized car it's a set back in my personal opinion.

I love how all these haters gotta come in, and bash SRT-4 owners for having faster cars than them. Yes the SRT driver just sat there roasting the tires for the first 3 gears, but thats what these cars do. Thats why a rolling start is the only fair way to do it. Now put some slicks on it, and take it to the strip. I bet it would have faired a better chance. I will say this. More cylinders equals more power. In most cases anyway. Now add forced induction to anything and you get more power

I love all the haters on here.. A 20k dollar car that can easily see 400+ hp for less then 10k in parts is impressive no matter how you slice it... @Aguirre693 It is a 911 not a Caymen. Though I will say your not the only one to confuse the two. The 2000 911 was only 300hp and 258ft/lb which made it a mid 13 second car with the 6-spd, and slower with the tiptronic. Big turbo Skittles are fast cars when they hook, hence the reason it went right around the 911. I would still rather own the slower 911 over the Skittle anyday.

Stock '04 SRT-4 has 230 bhp, does 0-60 in 5,3 sec, tops out at 153 mph.
Stock 996 has 300 bhp, does 0-60 in 5 sec flat, tops out at 174 mph.
Money in = more bhp out and that applies for both cars. The 996 will still go around corners a lot faster. And at the end of the day one of you are driving home in a Porsche, the other in a f'ckin Chrysler Neon...

I love neons, but in the end all this neon can do is go fast in a straight line. Any real racer knows smashing the gas on some highway isnt racing at all. You dont buy a porsche 911 for straight line power, you buy it for the class, the tradition, and the overall performance. I love SRT-4s, espec 1st gen swap srt-4s, but these are 2 compleatly different cars.

@Sp3edster01 Mags like Motortrend, Car and driver etc etc can be trusted, they test the cars as they come strate from the factory street tires and all. But they can drive so if you cant you will most likly be slower they what they run, if your reading shitty mags then they might be different but the ones a mentioned use top of the line testing facilitys and are usually 0.3 seconeds off in there acceleration quotes if that at most

@steelcityracer1320 -I for one don't believe car mags at all period. C&D tested the evo8 and ran mid 14's. Come on seriously we all know the Evo8 is a mid-high 13sec car stock. Too be honest the people that test the cars from mags, are just regularly ordinary mediocre drivers just like anyone else.
I have an 06 MS6 and have not ran at the track yet. But when i had my old 02 Sentra SE-R base 5spd i ran a 15.1@92mph with just an cold air intake. Mags ran high low 16's@87-88mph........Pathetic

@MikeHuntIsItchy Its not that I hate on the SRT the fact its American how long it will last (family van Ford Aerostar 89 over 500km) the SRT has a turbo fair enough tuned it can do some damage. But I will still prefer a japan car over it even though people over rate in these videos of vtec. I do not take the time to tune up cars (waste of money M.O.) I always owned acura and never had any issues other than reg tune ups. I cant see myself buying American not reliable enough for me.
