Did you not try taking the yellow cymble of and putting the yellow pad as the cymble and then sticking the foot pedal in the yellow pad, tht worked for me
I'm on my third pedal (warranty covered; I wouldn't waste money on another one). And their 90 day thing is bs; I had mine wayyy longer and they gave me a free one
YOu, sir, are awesoem. I had a 6 song set lsit and glass of vodka ready to go... broke my pedal on the first song. FOUdn your video and good as new, EVEN EBETTER! as you said, it's nice and quiet now, even has a soft er feel to it. ROCK!
Thank you SO much. Mine broke today and I was so pissed! It's not even a month old! The eraser did the trick and I was able to do it all by myself in like 5 minutes.
Nice vid. Its actually easier to just remove that piece you are taping the eraser too with the two screws on the top of the foot piece. Once you remove those two screws that extension part just comes right off. That's how I removed it to see what broke. Thanks for the fix.
My pedal broke in the first 24 hours of using it and I'm 11 years old!!! Probably cause I played Are you dead yet? three times. Lucky for me I got gold stars on the last run of doing it. :)
I just got my Ion Drum Rocker back from the store yesterday after having returned it due to the pedal being a Hi-Hat pedal. It took them 2 months to "fix" it and now that I got it back they had changed the pedal to a bass pedal. After some 5 hours of playing, the pedal broke down. A piece of sheet metal with some kind of soft foamed plastic or rubber, covering 3/4 of the metal, suddenly popped out. This piece is a part of the magnetic trigger or something. Now the pedal is completely broken..
Lol same thing happened to me, ibhad mine for a few weeks and it broke but I have my trusty eraser mod going pretty well. Still the pedal blows, and the rock pedel is the best btw! P.s. Sweet ass guitar, sg is by far the best
hey um on mine th elittle white thing fell off idk if its broken or not it doesent look like it is but can u tell me how to put it together because there is like a little spring 2 little metal conducters a black peice and a blue top if u can tell me that would be great
My pedal just broke, good idea using the Eraser - I don't think I would have thought of that. I did order the Rock Pedal, but will probably fix the ION pedal and set up the dual bass.
thank man <i fixed mine alittle while ago by putting the S bracket back useing only 1 screw and took 1 screw out of the bottom and turned that peace that it broke off of side ways. I tworked for 2 min, before it pop the sensor off .Wish I seen this first, Luckly I didn't F it up
Amen brother! Had the same problem and I fixed it using the magic eraser method. Only mod I did to your mod was to put two erasers together edgewise rather than one flat because it didn't reach the trigger otherwise. Thanks for the idea.
As for the question about making it quieter: I got some cheap foam carpet from Walmart about the same thickness as the rubber pads found inside the pedal (same screws). Cut and replace the hard rubbers with the foam pieces.
I have a destroyer pedal on my stock drums and it is amazing. I recently got ions and they are amazing but didn't know need and adapter for destoyer. Now 2 weeks to get here, so bad i'm considering going back to my stock kit just because this pedal is so bad.
Does any1 have any ideas how to make the pedal quieter. I have 2 turn my t.v. up soo loud just 2 drown out the sound of the pedal. I think the noise is comin from the metal piece that broke off in this video, but idk ive never taken mine apart 2 actually c where the noise is comin from. But if any has any home remedy ideas 2 fix the noise, id greatly appreciate it
i found out that you can actually take one of the pads from the ion and use it as a bass drum pad, you just plug it into the bass drum slot and it works, you just have to hit it a little harder and you have to have a real pedal. but hey, i have double bass now :)
I haven't tried the destroyer but the rock pedal has not given me a problem in the 6 months that I've owned it. There's no parts to break, whereas on the destroyer, the sensor is put in a weird place that can be knocked off if you put your foot on it the wrong way. Both are good, but after doing the research, I chose the Rock Pedal and haven't looked back since.
Same thing happened today with me dude, took me like quick 10 min to realize wtf happened and to repair it, played couple songs on expert hopefully it will never happen again
I've gone through about 4 roadie pedals now, one of them did just this, if I had seen this video then, I wouldn't be dealing with my current issue, were the tab you see that holds the pedal down with the cover actually broke off for me, I'm still trying to find a way to successfully put it back on till I can buy a Destroyer or Rock Pedal.
Yes, I thought of this myself. I actually made this video before even testing it because I just knew it would work but again, as I found out, it's not a permanent fix.
once you get it all fixed and everything, do you have to worry about anything else, like that little cover you had when you were taping it, do oyu have to put that back on or can you just store it somewhere?
No, you need that cover. It holds the 1/4" jack and it stop the pedal from going too far up. Unless you can secure it somewhere and are fine with the pedal flopping around then I guess you don't. Otherwise, it's not a good idea to remove it.
Dude, you got a lemon pedal, don't describe the whole line as "shit." I've been using two of them for over a year, beating hard on them, and they still work perfectly.
While that may be true for you, the vast majority of expert players who use the Ion/Roadie pedal have some kind of issue somewhere down the line, and from some forum posts I've read, it's not uncommon to get one broken right out of the box. Not to mention that the stock pedal is quite possibly the loudest on the market. It's not horrible for a RB bass pedal, better than the garbage they give you with the RB bundle, but since it's a hi-hat pedal, it's not meant to take that kind of beating.
Nice!. As soon as I get my Ion set, this will be the first thing I'll do. I already have some ideas to quiet the pedal so there is no rattle noise from the spring. I did some mods to the RB 1 pedal and they worked great.

just as an add-on to my post: make sure you change out the rubber piece at the bottom of the pedal and the one for the upward return.
Agreed. ION pedal blows. RockPedal shipped 3 days ago and ION will be demoted to hi-hat if I can pick up an Alesis DM6 not too expensive.

Mine had a two year warranty, once I used it once, they said the warranty was expired, so don't be surprised if they do that to you too.
