  • This is one of the bands "best" songs !

  • Grande canzone!

  • love this video, why is this not the video shown on vh1? it shows a new york that doesnt exist anymore. it may have been dirty and dangerous, but it sure looks fun. love the old cars!

  • young girl that gets really excited when people watch me on my webcam

    fastsexfinder (dot) com

  • COOL clip from the 80s VHS Music Video Compilation!!!!!

I think this is an awesome concept of a taxi driver in NY!

  • non è il mio genere di musica ma è trascinante nonchè strafiga!!!! :)

  • 1980年、あなたは何をしていましたか?

    私は高校二年生でした。

What did you do in 1980?

I was in the second grade of high-school.

  • cool

  • American Gigolo came out in 1980, the same year as the song. Perhaps you are thinking of Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo?

  • This song was written for the film American Gigolo. I don't know whether it was used in Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo, but I know for sure that Blondie was commissioned to write this specifically for American Gigolo.

  • I don't know if Call Me was used in Deuce Bigalow or not. My reply was directed to 111Sammie111 who mentioned that American Gigolo came out 30 years after this. I was thinking maybe he/she was confusing the two movies.

  • is that thingie bigolo?

  • song produced by Giorgio Moroder (Theme from American

gigolo) He knew she was big and the song sold millions and

really made blondie super popular back then. The song is

still popular over 20 years later.

  • That's correct newwave1965!

Also it was the biggest selling single of 1980! Number 1 for 6 weeks!

  • One of the best songs ever!!!

Blondie was a very good band.

  • the taxi driver has to do alot with this song think of it call me anytime? anytime any place anywhere? because you can pretty much call a cab at anytime and they will pretty much pick you up anywhere? like use ur heads boys!!

  • I wonder if the driver had to answer to Louie DePalma about why he didn't pick anyone up despite all that driving, after all it was NYC in the early 80's

  • my time great and top

  • I didn't really get the car part of the vidio....But great song.Gotta love the 80's

  • The album it was off was called Autoamerican - an the lyrics relate well to NYC cabbies!!!

  • joh2,

This song was not from the album "automamerican." This song was a non-album single and written for the movie American Gigolo. Rapture and the Tide is High were from Autoamerican.

Btw, the title "Autoamerican" has significant relevance to our slumping auto industry in the US right now. The band chose that title to support the industry and encourage Americans to buy American-made cars because the industry was going through a slump in the early 80's too, losing business to Japanese cars.

  • video bad...song howev, just about the best ever/

  • best song for fucking ;p ^_^ oll yee umc umc

  • despite the video's confusion, it's the best ten dollar video in history

  • I'm not being negative about this, i mean the song is awesome, but this video confuses me. I mean, it's a taxi driver. What does that have to with this song? I mean come on.

  • woah settle down everybody has thier own opinion GOSH

  • if i am not mistakin go west does a verson of this song but, dif lyrics.

  • c clair ! =)

  • Ca déchire toujours autant et ça a pourtant presque 30 ans!!!!!

  • One of the best songs of all time, no doubt.

  • blondie is the best

  • i love blondie...i am def. not of the '80's time but i love her voice & the lyrics!
