  • I'm glad it all back together, I visited both Christmas 2010 and 2011, beautiful than ever.

  • oh my.. that's horrible.,..

  • I had to clean up the KOA down the road from this. NEVER AGAIN!

  • man, the flood was a total bitch!

  • I was just at the resort this week. Could never tell any damage was ever done.

  • the flood is gone, then why is fema still here? the conspiracies must be true about fema and martial law.

  • i live in nashville and i remember this day like it was yesterday. it was HORRIBLE. i was cryinggg soo hard because i was scared. thankfully our house didnt get flooded, but the water was two houses away.

  • im staying here for beta club in 2 weeks! omg! i dont wanna no more!!

  • i stayed at this wonerful place 2 weeks ago and was amazed and then i was just looking at some pics of the flood and was frightened it looks horrible and to think i walk down in to what used to be ten feet of water :(

  • our prom was held here that night luckily it didnt flood earlier than it did

  • My pet goldfish died NOW IM SAD!!!!!

  • if u have a fourwheeler u got something to do

  • My school band was staying here that weekend. It was beautiful the day we arrived and then it started raining. and it never stopped. As we were leaving the water was maybe half a foot deep but it hadn't gotten into the hotel. We left to go home about an hour before they shut down all roads in nashville. As we left, while normally we would be sleeping, we watched as exit had cars floating down the road and horses wading through the water. When we got home, we saw the pictures it was horrible

  • I live in Clarksville which is a city about 30 - 50 miles outside of Nashville. The flood affected a lot of the surrounding cities including mine. The fish most likely did not survive. In the Opry Mills mall, the stingrays and pirhanas escaped and eventually died of freshwater and dirty water pollutants. Hopefully though, they can get this back up! I'm going for my senior prom here in 2014! :D

  • @GrohlWithIt it is back up. everything has been renovated

  • What happened to the fish that were in the hotel?

  • @xxcolinxx14 They survived. They spent the summer in the Magnolia pool and are back in the Delta river now.

  • I was just at this hotel and it looks great considering it was in a flood.

  • I was at the grand reopening this weekend. Happy to report it looked great.

  • I couldnt beleive it, went for Irish dance national championships two years ago, but I hear its more beutiful than ever now

  • aww this is so sad- I took my son here last Christmas! :(

  • My uncle works there

  • What happen to the giant fish inside the river boat reapair place?? And all the pretty fish?? And the sharks in teh mall??

  • @homelesshelper They thought they had escaped but when the waters receded, the tanks were intact. We got super lucky we didn't have hundreds of pirhana released into our river lol.

  • '

how this water floating come from

  • My sister and mom worked here.

    AM FUCKING SAD about this.

  • really people? god gets pissed and deos this? haha this is fuckin nature "god" has nothing to do with this, and if he does, fuck em

  • @llcmac01 - how could you say that it is by and through God you are living, breathing, enjoing life, healed from your illness. it is becaue of God's mercy you are granted new opportunities everyday to come back to him before it is too late becaue of his love you are protected even when your heart is away from him., nothing is like being in God's hands feeling his true love, come on wake up i feel sorry for u brother, everything God makes has a purpose & works for good to those who loves him.

  • PWNED

  • @uncoolnerd its noy pwned its not anything but terrible

  • @xxwhispersinthewindx god is throwing his wrath at the hotel for hosting Tea party conventions.

  • @uncoolnerd ok thennnnn ...

  • @uncoolnerd Urgh.. Only emos and computer geeks use words like "pwned". Fucking emo.

  • @TarbleSauce computer geeks are the fucking reason you are typing on your computer asshole. So STFU

  • @uncoolnerd No, those are just very smart people. You are a fucking geek who plays some online video game.

  • @TarbleSauce Believe what you want, loser. Your life sucks so much you have to get on here and bash people?

  • @uncoolnerd The only loser here is you. I'm bashing you because you say stupid things like "pwned" to such an tragic event where peoples lifes were lost and businesses were destroyed. You need to grow up and have respect.

  • @TarbleSauce nobody lost their life in that hotel and they charge like 300$ a night so I'm sure they'll be okay. you just need to get a life

  • @uncoolnerd I was talking about nashville as a whole. You're in no position to tell anyone to get a life. Put more countless hours into your online gaming, geek.

  • @TarbleSauce just because you say i play games for hours doesn't mean its true. Do you only have half a brain?

  • @uncoolnerd I know its true. Stop lying to yourself.

  • @uncoolnerd SERIOUSLY! GO FUCK YOURSELF..

I HOPE YOU FUCKING DIE IN A FLOOD YOU STUPID HORSE DICK SUCKING ASSHOLE. Fuck you.

  • I was in the elevator when water started pouring in.

  • ill never forget this flood, i live in clarksville, which is really close to nashville so we were flooded bad too, we were out of school for a whole week. its so sad to see all of the peoples homes lost, no one will forget.

  • dude there was a little river pond thing in there thta had water from thousands of lakes all over the world

  • I think this was caused by a hex put on Opry Mills from the ghost of Opry Land, tore down a rad theme park to build another stupid mall, mores the pity:(

  • never mind repairing that dump ,,,move the fuck out of that area chief. it will just happen again and again ,dont be retarded ,move on already.

  • @iamcyberpunk68 Ohh yea thats why it hasn't happened in ohhh, more than 100 years. Charts are created and those charts determine areas that are susceptible to flooding. If you listened he even said the "100 year flood mark."

So, in other words they have determined with the levee that that area was not likely to flood. Now they will build the levee higher to prevent further.

Chances of it happening again are there, but not as likely.

Repair it and the mall, then build the park elsewhere

  • @gt90guy thers no set time chief ,god gets pissed from time to time and you dont wanna be on low ground when he does,, bail the fuck out of dodge . get to ontario, where the worst case is a few little puddles on the side walk.

  • The end is near

  • wow..........................................

  • :(( no way! i just visited opryland this march and i totally remember going to all of these places! i feel so sad :((

  • oh wow!

  • Hopefully Tennessee will find a new way to prevent this? Possibly a better water drainage system, maybe build walls along the cumberland river? So sad to see this as this hotel was so beautiful when I had visited it 15 years ago. I also feel bad for the employees loosing so much work over this mess too.

  • it reminds me of the titanic... dang.

  • Yikes! = (

  • I was in a hotel right across the street from that hotel the day before it flooded. Crazy.

  • where did the fish in the man made streams inside the hotel go?

  • What is the current status of this hotel? I am supposed to stay there in October. It doesnt look like it now.

  • @msamericanpatriot

You better make new reservations; you wont be staying here.

  • @ttinytim8888 Thanks. I better tell the one who was planning the trip that it is a no go zone now. Do you work there or something?

  • @msamericanpatriot

You had better make a reservation elsewhere; this hotel will be closed in October.

  • @Noshbomb Al Gore is the world's biggest HYPOCRITE !

  • i got some vids of the flood

  • Waaahhhhhh! Boooo Hoooo! Come to the midwest if you want to know what flooding is all about.

  • @imixnpour We don't get this kind of weather that often, so please forgive us of our response! Gasp!!!! Nobody's here for some stupid territorial pissing contest, and if you don't want to watch the video, then fuck off and don't watch the damn video. Oh, and happy flooding, there Midwest superiority complex! Boy, I wish I was your shrink.......

  • This wasn't covered in the MSmedia because people behaved themselves, helped each other and there was a sense of brotherhood throughout. Unlike Katrina.

  • @styleomatic Amen Brutha !

  • Who cares abt. so called 'Global Warming. Even the Gulf of Mexico disaster. People died here and the Nat'l. media ignored this flood. WHY?

  • this a direct effect of chineese haarp attack against the us

  • Flood Victims Turn to FEMA for Help

    May 10, 2010

    .

    tiny (dot) cc/5n13y

    .

"FEMA has registered some 18,000 residents in the 42 counties that have thus far received the dubious distinction of 'federal disaster area.' The agency has inspected 4,400 homes, and about 14,000 people are still on the schedule. More than $28 million has already been approved for the effort.

    .

Tuttle said by mid-week, FEMA would have at least 12 of these mobile disaster relief units established across the state."

  • This hotel charges anywhere from a lower end $300.00 per night, to as much as $2,000 per night. They can afford it, believe me. Sad to think Opry Mills Mall might be gone, I used to work there and know a LOT of folks that work/worked there and I hope they are all ok and able to get other jobs

  • i hope everything is good when i come out there im comeing to tn in 2 weeks.

  • We had a big rain, and flood, in July 2006 (Cleveland, OH). I got 10-1/2" in my lower level. I asked the TV weatherman about it. He said you can't put a timeline on it (100 or 500 year) ... We experienced what is called a "storm train." Storms usually move from west to east, as did this one. The storm fronts were compressed, however, into a line.

  • They are usually spread out, but this one was vertical, the rain was more concentrated, rather than in a wide swath, like a vertical pencil going west to east on the turnpike, hitting every city along the way, in contrast to a horizontal pencil moving along the page. If it had been 15 miles further south, the city of Cleveland would have been flooded. People think they are kind of rare, but they're not. The last one happened in July of 2003. It could happen again ... they can happen anytime.

  • God Bless You Nashville wish you luck.

  • Thanks for sharing this video. Just can't believe how deep this water is. Never been there in person, but seen this exact area of the hotel on the Ralph Emery show many years ago.

  • why do people have to be such racist jerks? keep yer negative comments to yourself. nashville has suffered enough, and were not all a bunch of "hillbillies" or "redneck country singers" fyi. we are like a melting pot of different people and regardless we are all helping each other and its amazing. --proud to be born & raised 5 mins away from this beautiful hotel.

  • @shough2010

"we are like a melting pot"

    watch?v=fvpG4lTSVmA

... deserves way more views ... best of the lot, IMO.

  • PLEASE pass this around...send a TEXT message to 90999 from your cell phone. You will be charged $10, and a $10 donation will be made to the Nashville Red Cross. You can also call 615-250-4300 to make a donation.

  • It looks like the Poseidon Adventure.

  • Hi, I recorded a song called "Tennessee Teardrops" about the flood. here is my email for the mp3

    thanks and God Bless!

    brucebellott at yahoo do com

  • Why the heck have we heard nothing about this from our lovely media?? Not enough controversy, and everyone came together to help, AND nobody is blaming someone, that's why. The media sucks.

  • God bless Tennessee. 7 day response from the current administration. That's outrageous! Bless you all.

  • Nashville will come back bigger and bolder than ever. A great town to visit.

  • So sad. My wife and I have enjoyed walking through the Opryland Hotel many many times.

  • If you don't have money to donate, you still can donate by joining swagbucks. Swagbucks is a search engine site where you can win points or 'swagbucks' every time you search. You normally win around 7-20 swagbucks when you do win, and you can donate 10 swagbucks at a time towards the flood relief. If you join under my account, i'll win however many swagbucks you win, so that will help. (swagbucks website/refer/fallior)

  • I'm from Mexico city and I used to be a STAR (employee) in Gaylord Opryland in a J-1 program. Seeing this images brakes my heart, all my friends, memories and prople from whom I learned too much are suffering, they lost their jobs, probably their houses, I also have mexican friends there who are going back home. I can't believe this happened!!!

  • I went to nashville for a video game tournament and stayed in the Opryland Hotel. EVERYONE was nice and just knew how to act. When I saw that residents are helping with clean up it didn't suprise me.

  • I'm glad more lives weren't lost, like Katrina. The Opry is the least of the worries.

You can't replace people. Was the flood contained to just the Nashville Area? Tim and Faith's telethon is called Nashville Rising. I thought Memphis and a whole lot of other counties were suffering as well.

  • Tide Loads for Hope trucks are coming to

Nashville on Wednesday, May 12. The Tide staff will wash, dry and fold

clothes for those who might need it. If you know someone who needs

this free service, please contact Tide at 800-879-8433 (press 0 for the

operator) and let them know Nashville needs Loads of Hope. The more

calls they receive, the bigger the priority we will become. They'll ask

    for contact information

  • Kudos for this guys response for how they "prepared" - typical reporter, she's worried about tables and chairs and the hotel focuses on their guests & entertainers.

  • it breaks my heart to see this!..the opryland hotel is so lovely!...we always enjoy going there and to opry mills mall....i hope it won't take too long for this lovely place to open again...NASHVILLE ROCKS!..:)

  • thats so sad, the Opryland Hotel was so gorgeous.

  • omg....it makes me want to cry when ever i see video's such as this one......i hope and pray for everyones safety in Tn. God be with you all.

  • @rappinfiddler "videos" not "video's"

  • @imatroll5 ...college professor maybe?...thanks for the spelling lesson next time keep your comments to yourself bud.

  • If you don't have anything decent to say, please stay the hell out of the posting area. Makes me sick.

  • What an absolute shame to see all this damage to such a beautiful hotel. I hope they can recover soon.

  • The "response" is from Nashvillians helping each other...NOT FEMA. I have seen one (count em, 1) FEMA person on the ground; and they were walking around with a clipboard taking notes. Not pulling out drywall, or taking wheelbarrows full of crap to the curb. This is an astounding community of people reaching out to help one another rebuild. Something that surely shocks the US government. Thanks anyhow, USG...we can (obviously) take care of ourselves. Without bitching and whining to the media!

  • I have memories of that wonderful place. When they rebuild it.....it just won't be the same. I'm in tears right now watching my hometown flood away like broken memories.

  • This Hotel was GAY Anyway because it was Called a GAYLord Hotel and Aloft Hotels are Way Better than GAYLord Hotels LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @armoredtruck1984 i cant believe assholes like u

  • It is horrible to see the Opryland Hotel flooded, let alone the whole city. I have many memories of the hotel and the city of Nashville, me and my wife got married just a few mile north of the Opryland Hotel, in Madison. My heart and Prayers go out to the residents of Davidson county and the whole state of Tennessee.

  • Clearly, this is Obama's fault

  • breaking news: I think Opry mills is hiring for clean up. wow.

  • Our Father God in heaven, please remember your rainbow and that it's a sign that you will never flood the world again.

Bring in all your resque angels to help in this time of challange.

I pray peace and healing for this place, Tennessee.

I ask through Christ your Son our Savour,

    Amen.

  • Last month, FEMA Director W. Craig Fugate wrote a letter to Congress warning that its relief fund had fallen to $693 million as of April 7 but the agency owed $645 million to 47 states for past disasters. That doesn't include the $1.7 billion settlement for Hurricane Katrina.

  • substanti8 talks about global warming when the lid was blown off of the global warming scheme in East Anglia University where the Scientist's cooked the books to hide the decline in temperatures. The disgraced Phil Jones admitted that temperatures have been decreasing since 1995.

  • @goodz198

    .

Your robotic repetition of fossil-fueled disinformation talking points does NOTHING to refute the reality of anthropogenic global warming. (Does Koch Industries pay you, or are you really that stupid?)

"When I use the term denial industry, I'm referring to those who are paid to say that manmade global warming isn't happening. The great majority of people who believe this have not been paid: they have been DUPED."

  • @goodz198 substanti8 willfully Deni's the truth on many issues.

  • @john51880

    .

Climate change deniers have no evidence to support their anti-scientific opinions. They are often the same wing nuts who deny the existence of evolution. They exhibit an appalling lack of intelligence and reasoning.

  • aww i stayed there once :(

  • I feel sorry for the people who lost their homes, personal belongings and most of all their lives and loved ones. I'm sure the insurance money will "more" than take care of the damage to your property:( Best of luck to all of those who need it.

  • a lot of natural disasters have happened this year it's really scary

  • they canceled prom >:(

  • I was just at Opryland a week before the flood. =(

  • @Time4u2Believe Give me a break....

Obama haters are even debunked by Fox News:

"I've never seen this kind of response," said Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen (D), "and we've had our share of tornadoes and so forth."

"FEMA and the White House could not have been more helpful in this thing," Bredesen said.

After speaking with the governor Monday, President Obama signed a disaster declaration for the state Tuesday, sending federal aid to Tennessee to help supplement ...

  • .

.. the state and local recovery efforts.

"FEMA was on the ground before the rain drops fell," said Bredesen, who noted he'd not only spoken to Mr. Obama, but Homeland Security Sec. Napolitano and Senior Adviser Valerie Jarrett. "We're very pleased with the response we've gotten from the administration."

Bredesen agreed it would be counter-productive for the president to come down south in the first days following the storm, as so many resources are needed to accommodate a presidential visit.

  • @substanti8 Kewl! I wish the same was true for all flood vistims accross our land. When a property I owned got it, nobody cared, Lost 150K+. No grants, nothing. Weird how everyone does not get treated the same. When people lose of much equity them should at least offer them interest at cost to lower their house payments which would not cost taxpayers a dime. That way, they have at last more money to help recover their loses unless of course they have flood insurance.

  • @HopeValleyRI

    .

So you did NOT have flood insurance? If not, was that because your home was not in a flood zone? I'm curious.

    .

One of the problems with the Nashville flood is that so much property was damaged beyond the limit of the "500-year" flood zone. Many people did not have flood insurance, because FEMA did not require it (through the banks). So that's why Obama took immediate action.

  • @substanti8 Nope. I did not have flood insurance, and I was NOT in a flood zone. FEMA was there in <24 hours along with State and Local agencies to care for the human health needs then left. The homes are still empty homes up and down the street, two years later. Most people lost their live savings.

  • @HopeValleyRI

    .

Wow ... that's terrible. I think the experience that you and your neighbors had is a harbinger of things to come -- across much of the world. Climate change is a huge unfolding disaster -- like the Titanic (our society) hitting an iceberg in slow motion.

    .

Read the outstanding essay from The New Republic yesterday:

    .

    tnr. com/article/politics/ the-crisis-comes-ashore

    .

"... extremely large downpours ... are predicted to become far more common with each passing decade ..."

  • @substanti8 Thanks sub. Like the President has not a lot of issues on his hands right now as for example the awful spill by BP.

  • @substanti8 I dont care what Phil Bredesen said Obama was slow to respond to this. He hasnt even shown up a week later Homeland security Sec. shows up we had it handled by then. Fema had an easy time doing their jobs unlike the in La.

  • @stevemtc1

I offered credible evidence to support my opinion.

    Where's your evidence?

  • @substanti8

Ok pussy boy get scewed!!! You just another leftist fag that got nothing but times on his/her hands!!

  • @substanti8 Obama will do whatever he can to make himself look good now that his communistic and socialistic ideals have been exposed, and now that American sentiment is against him to the tune of about 70%

  • Mock the Dummies . watch?v=O8LU4B7JFTY . "This is socialism!" "This is fascism!" "This is communism!" . "Which one is it?" . "Dummy, it's all the same." . "Oh ... It's all the same!!"
  • @substanti8 socialism is just a gateway path to communism, yes.

  • wow

  • I lived in Nashville for Five amazing years, seeing the damage the got done by the flood sadden me, and the media coverage is really disappointing, I know you guys will survive, we wish you well.

  • So sad. I really like this hotel, it is beautiful.

  • Where are the whites up on their roofs yelling for help, the robbing and looting as in New Orleans? All I see are people helping each other and taking care of each other? And where is all the outcry to help them as their was to help Haiti ?

  • @SubmarinerAndroid

You do realize more rednecks live up north than down south, right?

  • @SubmarinerAndroid fuck u douche

  • Another irony is that the South is lined up to receive much of the worst effects of global warming this century -- even as it harbors NASCAR culture and so much denial of climate science. Severe and bizarre weather will become more frequent and more intense as a direct result of increased heat and moisture in the atmosphere.

    climateprogress. org/category/extreme-weather

  • @substanti8 OMG.... You still believe in "Global Warming". Do you like snake oil as well? You love the taste of poisonous fluoride?

It is amazing still that the sheeple cannot see through the globalists plans to tax you into death.

Severe and bizzare weather."They" can cause it to happen. Look up HAARP array.

Also don't you think it is possible that the Sun, yes that big ball of fire, which is going crazy with solar storm, might be the cause of it all?

    Also look up weather modification.

  • @leebob86

    "Look up HAARP array."

Bubba, you're doing it wrong. Wear it like this:

  • @substanti8 Also, look up sustainable development, Georgia Guidestones, Agenda 21. I should keep going, but it is likely I am talking to a brick wall.

If not, then have a nice day.

  • @substanti8 Well, after reading your' other comments below, I can see you are just dumb fucker.

You do know that if your president, Barry Soetoro gets his way with cap & trade, you will be paying 3 times your current power bill?

Are you a labor union loving communist? WAKE UP WAKE UP.

  • @leebob86

    .

You get your opinions from Alex Jones, and then you tell OTHER people to "wake up"?

    .

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ... you're a funny guy.

    .

Gosh, you're right, Mr. Fudd. I now think that global warming is all a hoax, because ... well ... because some anonymous internet troll with no evidence and an IQ under 80 repeated a barrage of talking points that were planted into his little mind by the oil industry. And he's no sheep! No sireee lee bob!!

    .

    "Y'all swim back now, hear?"
