  • what camera are you using

  • That's washington alright. One of the coolest places on Earth. :)

  • I wanna build a yurt there and wave goodbye to society....the perfect place for a hermit like me lmao. Wonderful, thanks for sharing ~PG~

  • your voice is so perfect, you should read audiobooks... summat like bill bryson really fits with your voice (: lol

  • Crap, I feel like going on a road trip now. It's 1:26am here and winter... so I guess I'll wait a few month -.-

  • That's not paradise! I hear kids in the distance.

  • Depeche Mode ftw

  • You look up, you see beauty.

You look down, you see more beauty.

You come back up to eye level and you see a bunch of ignorant fuckers trying to convince you, that you can't appreciate this kind of beauty as much as they do, because you don't worship the deity that created it.

  • "because you don't worship the deity that THEY BELIEVE created it."

Fixed. I agree with your general sentiment, though. :)

  • should have gone to the olympics. although i have seen some pretty cool shit in the cascades, i just prefer the olympics. washington is an amazing state, travel east of the cascades and its just a barren wasteland, the complete opposite of the coastal area.

  • Also want to mention that there are lots of amazing glacier caves in Washington (assuming they haven't melted), some of which are a pretty easy hike. They are amazing.

  • You are/were in Washington huh?

  • easy, god put it there to test their faith

  • Did you meet a lot of muslim suicide bombers having sex with virgins :O

  • This channel deserve so much more viewership.

  • Great Vid

  • i love those timelapses. i really need to get a decent webcam so i can make some for myself.

  • i was there today, the only bad thing is it was "free admitance day" in the park so all the riff raff was destroying our mountain didnt even want to get out of the car.

  • I hope global warming don't make these glaciers disappear.. I haven't made my round there.

  • I don't know your route home, but I'd recommend checking out Grand Coulee on your way through Central Washington. Dry Falls is an impressive vista, perfect for your airplane.

  • On a clear day I can almost see Mount Rainier from my house.

Chinook Pass is a gorgeous drive, if you get the chance.

  • This video is amazing on a 27" monitor. Well done Thunderf00t

  • Awesome scenery. ls1z28chris: As someone who was lucky enough to be able to take a couple extended cross country trips like this, there seemed to be more Europeans than Americans there were at all the most scenic western parks. Maybe we need longer paid vacations...

  • i think he has lost it. building dams out of mud...

  • this is always the irony of Washington state, lots of beautiful scenes but typically covered by overcast.

  • thunderf00t has great camera skills, hardly shaky at all. beatiful view.

  • dude no way he's holding the camera

  • To the question at 3:20

Clearly, it was caused by the flood. Anyone can see that...

    (not really)

  • It's truly genuine of you to take to time to share nature's true beauty with the "youtube" community. There are so many all over this world who will truly witness its beauty. Our thanks, as well as mine, to you Mr. thunderf00t. :)

  • No kidding. I've lived in America all of my life, and I've never taken the time to visit the places thunderf00t is sharing in these videos. This is some great stuff.

  • I love how you love trance :)

Awesome video, I went to British Columbia this summer it so beautiful, much like this.

  • Thunderf00t: that's a glacier....

320iguy: yeah, what's left of it.

  • I don't understand why this comment has been thumbed down, considering how the statement is fairly accurate. The glaciers retreated about one quarter their size between the little ice age (around 1850) through 1950.

But it's still a sight to behold, nonetheless.

  • that's because not too many people understand that there hs been almost a 1/4 mi retreat of most glaciers, and that is being conservative in myu statement.

  • kinda looks like Norway :D

  • This song is an interesting remix of DM's original

    :P

  • I loved visiting Mt Rainier. Went there after visit to St Helens. What I found most interesting is the explanation of how St Helens changed and bulged before she blew. Then going to Rainier you could see the very top seemed to bulge. Scarey, exciting stuff.

Couldn't see a reflection in reflection lake but I took some photos of these bug chunks of ice floating in the lake. When we got home we saw the reflection clear as day in the pics!!!

  • Where do you find all of those old tunes? Flashbackcity...

  • Getting close to my house. Aye.

  • Welcome to my backyard Thunderf00t!

Paradise is a great hike. Make sure you have good boots and pack a lunch with plenty of water.

  • who seeing and watching all the places tfoot has been wants to travel america now

  • AYE!!!!!

  • Aye!

  • Aye!

  • Some spectacular vistas.

  • aye!

  • ....anybody who'd travel the world with thunderf00t say aye! ^^

  • Aye!!

  • You should come out to check Canada for your next tour thunderfoot.

  • Is that a Depeche Mode remix?

  • totally

  • Hey Tf00t was in out neighborhood!

We take day-trips to Mt. Rainier regularly - much beauty.

  • You really should have an HD camera...

  • this is going to sound nerdy, but that reminded me of the elder scrolls IV

  • XD..

  • Me too.

  • Oi! that's the song on american pie when the main character strips.

    whats this song called?

p.s. Awesome vid Thunderfoot one of my favorites on this channel.

  • Gosh! Lovely stuff.

  • That may be the most beautiful place you've been to. Astonishing. I MUST go.

  • PPL... Why complaining bout the music,,

let the man show you the universe... complaining bout music is for dead beats enjoy the world and let old people tell you why music sux

    get real for real

  • I just don't think alot of people like dance music. Me included.

  • my favorite video of your tour so far thunderf00t! great choice in music. thanks!

  • I was up on those trails a few years back w. my niece during the US Go Congress. Beautiful country. It's a shame I never got to see the glacier before the shrinkage.

  • Loving the tunes again Tfoot, absolute classics!

  • I've taught my kids that the biggest hazzard on Montana roads are deer.

  • who knew thuderfoot is a ex raver :D haha big up!

  • So beautiful and peaceful.....

    Great footage as always Tf00t.

  • TF, the answer to your rock conundrum is SO simple!!! GOD DONE IT! Sheesh, you're forgetting your creationism 101.

  • video: 5 stars

    music: utter shit

  • "music: utter shit"

I don't care for techno either, but it seems to go well with his footage. At least its not Drowning Pool's 'Bodies' like almost every other YouTube vid. lol

I'm so sick of that damn song.

  • These videos are great.

But you probably violated a law in building that dam. No permit, or enviromental impact study. No consideration for the unknown life that may have been lost, due in no small part to the negligence of the construction, that lead to the catastrophic failure.

    So there you have it.

    Thunderf00t, the eco terrorist.

    It's a sad day indeed.

He'll be eating omelets made from Bald Eagle eggs next. Just watch.

    :)

  • Honestly, I can't see how people would still think TF00t is DPR. I think your being sarcastic there ilikeost, but if people still think this after TF00ts debate with Ray Comfort, then they are not thinking clearly.

I am not saying anything is wrong with stuttering, but I am sure a lawyer would have to be able to speak clearer when put in a face to face confrontation/debate such as TF00t was.

  • idk how, but this made my night.. thanks

  • that rock at 3.10 .... you see we where playing baseball in norway..... XD

  • Thanks, this is a pretty amazing trip into space time! It's what's real...

I find it interesting that NASA is able to lose the original tapes or recordings of the Moon landings only a few short years ago and we are still dealing with 2000 plus year scripture.

It does not make sense but it is still worth the thought that both ideas may co-exist. Neither side may be correct.

The idea's cannot be proved either way. Science or No Science.

End of story, it's really what you believe?

    Gerald

  • what does he do for a living that he can drive around the country for a month?

  • He is a lawyer, as we all know Thunderf00t is dprjones.

  • I have often wondered that myself.

  • (3:20) Freeze-thaw cycle, My Arse! How did that boulder get there? Easy. God put it there!

    (Troll Comment!)

By Golly-By Gosh! Look at that scenery!!

The next time I win a lottery I'm retracing TF's footsteps.

Thanks again, TF, for sharing this with us.

  • You should really get all your best time lapses on to a DVD, add some nice music and sell it as recreational/ inspirational material :)

Great stuff, Tf00t, great stuff ;)

  • love this tf00t . What is the interval for the timelapse ? every 2 secs etc. ?

  • Breathtaking.

  • Love the time lapse.

  • Brilliant idea, a couple of compilations of all the BitU videos and some graphics, mapping etc. Burn it and make copies available through Ebay or something, a nice little earner to help Tf00t pay for this epic journey. Should be able to do part 1 thro 3 at least.

  • I never get tired of these videos. Awesome scenery, man. Keep up the great videos.

  • I'd imagine a man can get laid fairly easily in a beautiful place like that.

  • even easier for a woman, most likely.

  • You should go to Iowa and do a time lapse of watching the corn grow.

  • Tx for taking us with you Tf.

  • I was speechless the whole time!

  • Gorgeous, just beautiful.

    Thank you!

  • I am sure you have posted a map of your trip somewhere, but if anyone could provide a link to a road-map of this adventure I would be grateful.

Like a good scientist, I want to see this all for myself someday..

  • These videos have made me come to a realization about Thunderf00t. He's no scientist: he is an artist. Science is his art, cameras are his paintbrush, and nature itself are his paint and canvas. :-)

    [I'm feeling poetic today.]

  • 3.20 easy question, God put it there, DUH!

  • Breathtaking.

  • The glaciers continue to shrink at a phenomenal rate.

  • I've been all over the world, and Mt. Rainier is truly one of the most beautiful spots.

  • whats the name of the music at the beginning?

  • Mike Koglin - The Silence

Amazing track from an amazing artist

  • Pretty amazing! Magical in the most natural way. :)

  • During my teen years, I lived in central Washington. Mom remarried in 1980 (a month after Helens erupted. I could step out my back door and see the east slope of Mt. Rainer. People asked mom what would happen if Rainer would blow up. She said "When Rainer starts moving, so do I."

  • make more!!! more!!!!

p.s. how long of a trip is this, total?

  • Are you asking in miles or days?

  • beautiful

  • lol

    dam fail! XD

  • I'm not much for flowers either, but those are some pretty nice ones. Wild flowers in red, white and blue!

  • Cool! Depeche Mode! (A cover? A remix? it's cool either way)

  • ahh funny you mention the race track in the video. about three years ago i was in death valley and was really looking forward to seeing it ...unfortunately you need to drive off road for quite a few miles to get there and all i had was a rental. would be awesome if you got out there and got some footage.

  • Erradicts and glacial scree in one video. Great stuff.

  • And, the second timelapse is to:

Calling Your Name, by Jan Johnston

    watch?v=LXe86dara2A

  • One version of it anyway. Maybe not the one I pasted.

  • The first timelapse is to:

    The Silence, by Mike Koglin

    watch?v=Ievnd-lP5pY

  • I'm still looking for the second song.

  • Your time lapse's are amazing, and the music you put with them is always fitting.

  • Washington for the win!

  • but jebus made the rainbows!

  • anyone else imagine him saying CATASTROPHIC FAILURE when it popped up?

  • I really want to go to the west coast before I die.

  • I've lived within 6 hours of the east coast my entire life, but I was lucky enough to go to Monterey, CA for a motogp race in 2006... i'll never forget it. I'd highly recommend it, whatever the cost :)

  • shawnsonium: that new piece of javascript they use for the ratings sure can get confusing at times. huh? ;)

  • talk about beauty in the universe. So amazing.

  • Extraordinary.

    This channel rules.

  • how far north are you going?

  • Comment removed

  • Nice. Very nice indeed.

I have a pic of my lovely wife, taken with Mt. Rainier in the background in 1979. Good thing she wasn't near that Mt. St. Helens a yr later!!

  • 6:00 is a great shot.

  • that place really is impressive

  • i get more and more envious of you every time i watch a new video.

  • you kick ass thunderf00t

  • what music does he use in his time lapces?

  • Welcome to Washington, Thunderf00t.

I can see Reineer from where I am right now, but that's most of the Eastside.

I've lived here my entire life, always around mountains, and when i go somewhere (like most of the south) that has no mountains, i get irritable. The tallest things on the horizon should not be man made structures.

Just don't stay for winter. It sucks, and Climate Change has been giving us a lot more snow.

    The hills are murder.

  • I loved how you have to emphasize you're not really a man for flowers... after having mumbled, "pretty little flowers" a few times. Were those red ones "Indian Paintbrush"? I think I saw a lot of those up the way of Logan's Pass in Canada... in reds, yellow, and orange. I keep thinking that you're getting close to Seattle... I think there is a Lumber Museum near Point Defiance Zoo or some such. Lovely forests there.

  • 6:09

The lonely mountain? By Balin's beard! Run tf00t, Smaug could be hiding in those clouds!

    Nevertheless it's an magnificent view!

  • 5:00 is the money shot

  • 5:32 is IMO.

  • agreed!!!

  • One of my favorite songs. Made my hour.

  • i wish i could just pack up and travel like this, i am entirely envious of you Tf00t :D

  • Thanx for the tour.

  • Looks like something out of Kurosawa's "Dreams"

  • It sounds like TFoot is wearing bear bells.

From what I've heard, those do nothing, or at worst attract the bears attention.

  • Maybe he wants to fight a bear! He'll fight anything else!

  • Agreed.

  • lmao! "catastrophic failure" lol...

  • Beautiful as always thunderfoot. Truly.

  • Anybody know what the name of that song is?

    the non-techno version?

  • Song is "Enjoy the Silence" from Depeche Mode, Violator album...don't know about the remix.

  • enjoy the silence by depeche mode? that the one your'e talking about?

  • Indeed, watch?v=dAN9sKlOZxE

    Thank you kind sir :D

  • I was just in that area. Gorgeous.

Thunderf00t, have you been to the Palouse? Moscow/Pullman/Colfax area is very beautiful, especially if you can get upon on the buttes for the sunsets on the hills.

  • My favourite part, that water fall.

  • Yay! Mount Rainier! Really nice place. Pacific NW, FTW!

  • Could somebody explain what I need to take time lapse clips?

  • If you look at TF00ts other videos he explains in full what you need - software, hardware, the works.

Nice music on this one Tf00t glad it's all going well this year :D

  • thunderfoot is just a fucking awsome human being...no matter what you think of his ideas!

  • Fantastically beautiful. You are such a sweetie for taking us on your journey with you. : )

  • TF, what camera do you use?

    Please reply :)

    Regards, Jack.

  • beautiful

  • I thing Tf00t is turning in to a big softie :P

  • You going to Canada TF?You're in the area for Vancouver Island. There is some awesome sites there.Cathedral Grove,Pacific Rim park.Around the south end of the Island there's Sandcut beach(rock beach) and Sambrio beach. The interior has alot of nice spots.I recommend the Kootenays. There's also the gulf islands.I would recommend Hornby. There are so many bald eagles they're like seagulls!Power To The Educated!

  • that was "pretty slash amazing"

  • HEEY! ur just south east of where i live =D (puyallup)

fun techno! too bad it's so cloudy :(

and rainy! i tell ya, not too long ago it was just super clear with all kinds of sun!

glad that u could see the Space Needle, too :)

    have fun in WA!

  • No matter how many times I go, I am enchanted each time. Worth a trip.

  • I live two-three hours away from Mount Rainer!

  • That place is beautiful. Gotta visit one day!

  • Thats where I'm from!

  • gotta say one of your best videos

  • Tf00t's timelapses are always beautiful.

  • I am SO going to live in the Pacific NW one day.

  • wow...what an amazing place. beautiful.

  • Thank you for posting this! I grew up in south Tacoma and I really miss seeing Rainier daily. Also brings up childhood memories of trips to the mountain! It's too bad you're heading north, there's a really good waterfall to stop at in the Columbia River Gorge (which itself is very cool and I love looking at the different formations, but without the knowledge have no idea what I'm looking at), along with my current hometown which is supposed to have some amazing places to fly planes!

  • Jealous? Me jealous? Why should I be jealous? Look, this is me, not being jealous.

    Another amazing vid, TF. Thank's.

  • So what song is the first one?

Its a remix of something isnt it?

  • Sounds like TF got laaaaaaid

  • i felt like i was on a rollar coaster during the drive part

  • I've always liked this song

  • Afghanistan is a desolate place, but I tell you what. The are pretty amazing flowers there.... when you see them...

Looks like we have alot of the same taste in music.

  • <
