one of the unique things about Lost is that it really was a character-driven story more than anything else. not many tv shows with a villain go deeply into the motivations for why they became bad. ben's journey just kept unfolding. first he was a bad guy but then as we got to know him, we saw that he was just a neglected boy underneath who wanted to be loved. most of the time we want the bad guys to stay bad and to hell with their motivations but Lost took a different turn and humanised him.

Hand Michael Emerson the Emmy...now! One of, if not the best acting moment of Season 6. I've seen it enough times to know every word of dialogue, every nuance of his voice and face, and it still makes me tear up a few months after the original broadcast. This man is an actor's actor...top notch all the way!
