  • My bird (male) is also shy when it comes to his own voice-- saying words anyway.

@smurf - we've always joked that Pharaoh must be gay since he's bonded to me but his original owner was probably a male around my age so it makes sense for him to bond to me so strongly (I was a complete stranger and never purchased him, acquired through a lengthy relationship)

  • I have a female and she talks a load. She only talks when she thinks no one is home though. But she says so much it suprises me. She's also very sweet. But they do have a tendacy to be a brat.

  • How cute is that!

  • yes! get a male.. my female was a bitch & she had to go & now i have the friendliest male eclectus on the planet..

  • So which of eclectus is best to purchase the Male or the Female Eclectus.

  • Depends on the owner. A male Eccy will bond better with a female owner, and vice versa.

  • Our new female (Abby) is four months old and we just picked her up yesterday. This morning she took her first shower and it was soooo funny. She loved it. I just can't get over how calm this bird is. Thanks for the funnnnny video!!! I think my wife and I will just keep using a towel on our bird since she seemed to like it.

  • i don't whant to buy a taim bird of 4 months i think ones i come home he aint gonna come to me

  • why dont the male one like water..i have to like push him in the water but he love when he gets blow dried...he walks around all day thinking hes cute!

  • Wow, it's great that she enjoys the hair dryer; my male eclectus doesn't even like getting wet!

  • i had a quick queston does your female talk? and is she at all mean ? i have heard so many negative things about female eclectus and its making me kinda worried i purchased a female about 2 weeks ago but she can not come home until the first week in january i have owned other parrots b4 but not an eclectus do you have any suggestions?

  • When Lucy first came home she could nip you hard and as she reached the "terrible 2's" she developed a mind of her own and when she did not want to step up or go back into her cage she would bite the heck out of you. As she matured sexually she became aggressive to most people in the house, but she would let me handle her. After she went throug laying several eggs last month she became less aggressive. Lucy talks a little (peek-a-boo, hi, kissing noises, imitates my cough) but not much else.

  • @Chiquita60312

there are female eclectus's here at the petland, and two of them are incredibly sweet, just a bit timid and defensive. how is your eclectus now??

  • The only way that the coils are poisonus is if they are teflon. I always blow dry my birds. Some people are SO nosey! She is beautiful. I have a male eclectus.

  • It's not nosey. People post things like that so prospective bird owners who randomly find this video can learn what's dangerous and what's safe. Stupid idiot.

  • Didn't anyone ever tell you that heated coils on a hair dryer is poisonus to most parrots????????

  • Thats really cool! I want to see some footage of her in the shower too and then getting blow dried. Its also cute when she gets into the open pan drawer. Good job!

  • oh my god, shes beautiful! ive never seen a female before, only my male!
