  • You know....I wonder why people watch a video if they dislike it...if you dislike it don't spread negative comments, some other people may really enjoy the video...this is just observations I've made from other video subscribers.

  • dumpert

  • The Force is strong with this one.

  • Some rats are gonna die today! >:D

  • Very very 90's!! I'm one of them! HAHAHA

  • No one ever got rich being honest

  • They didn't give birth to her she was adopted

  • I love this movie so much.

  • Much to good for children.

  • Is it just me or is Miss Honey a little bit pedo. Come on what teacher invites a student to their house.

  • @HowIMetYourMotherFa1 LOL interesting thought.

  • I only found out today on IMDB that her mother died during the filming of this movie. Very sad, but she carried on like a real professional, which is so brave.

  • You do know that they did not give birth to Matilda If you want to put it on at least watch it first??

  • MUCH TOO GOOD FOR CHILDREN

  • no more miss nice girl.

  • the 26 dislikes were born on the 2000's.

  • I love this movie when i was a kid. the chocolate cake scene still makes me want to throw up. mrs truchnball was such a bitch

  • best 90s movie ever!!!!

  • When I was little, I really thought I was her. Maybe because we share the same name (I'm named Matilda too, hell yeah) and I was a bookworm who grew up in libraries. The only thing missing was those magic powers, too. I spent hours staring at things, hoping they would move.. ^^

  • Mara Wilson did an excellent job on acting as Matilda. Plus, Matilda's a very cool name for a girl!

  • is it playing the 'Hook' Theme?

  • It's "What's This" from Nightmare Before Christmas! :D

  • @tangerinegirl59 Yeah I was gonna say I recognize that song from anywhere

  • Some people grew up with "The Goonies" But I grew up with "Matilda!"

  • @Psycho1386 I grew up with both!

  • Danny Devito the ediot calls this movie a PG. This scares kids, when I was young i used to be frightened all the time.

  • After I watched this, when I was a kid, I wanted everyone to call me Matilda. lol

  • My favorite movie when I was a kid! <3

  • There must be someone who feels the same way as I do about this film. It's special - I've seen it over 20 times and know every line and yet I am willing to watch it 20 more times. I takes you somewhere nice, just like books written by the delightful Roald Dahl, Mara and Danny did a great job. Matilda is my childhood.

  • this movie makes me feel good inside

  • I finally found this movie, i have been looking for it for over 10 years!!!!!!!!! :D

  • the casting director came to

my school and talked about how he saw her at a movie theatre and hired her she got paid 1.5 million dollars at age of nine just because she had an imagination and she could follow directions

  • Am I the only one hearing "What's this?", the nightmare before christmas song?

  • @Pockyturtle I heard it too!

  • i remember this movie!

  • Mr. and Mrs. Dursley are much worse than Mr. and Mrs. Wormwood.

  • this movie is sooo good!!!

  • The only thing I remember from this movie is flying pancakes and people being forced to eat chocolate cake.

  • "I AM GODDD!"

    LMAO!

  • Why on earth is " A Nightmare before Christmas " music " What's this" playing in the background on a Mathilda movie?

  • I luv the book!!!

  • you can skip half the hald the movie if you just say this Mutation: it is the key to our evolution. It has enabled us to evolve from a single-celled organism into the dominant species on the planet. This process is slow, and normally taking thousands and thousands of years. But every few hundred millennia, evolution leaps forward.

  • is it just me or are they playing What's This? in the background?

  • I remember this movie. remember the part with the girl and the flowers? lol

  • so..shes a jedi?

  • 0:36 I always wanted to poke/punch that thing when ever it started to move :)

  • omg the beginning music is What's This from Nightmare before Christmas!!

  • "nah you eat it" lol

  • omg so proud to be a 90s kid lol

  • lol why does this trailer use musical scores from like 3 other movies?

  • Oh my God, this used to be one of my fave movies as a child. Ah, good times. <3

  • My name!

  • The music near the end is from Hook! Awesome!

  • I watched this for the first time when I was around 4 years old, and not, 11 years later, I remembered a movie with a girl shooting a carrot at someone so I looked it up xD

  • Я люблю это!

    I love this!

  • is that the nightmare before christmas song in the background?...AWESOME!!!

  • in my opinion they completely ruined the book.

  • .... Is that "whats this" from Nightmare before christmas movie playing in the bacround? so when is Jack going to come and dance and sing in this one?

  • She should tell her parents to sit on the naughty step, lol.

  • I know I'm not the only one who has attempted to move things with my mind because of this movie XD

  • She looks like Joey King....... just saying

  • i dont remember her saying " Nahh , you eat it "

  • That cake looks good. -__-

  • This movie ruined chocolate cake for me

  • Is that the same theme as 'Hook'?

  • A little girl with a bunch of invisible arms that are several feet long with which she can use to manipulate objects without touching them...

Sorry Lucy, but I think Matilda is the real mother of the Diclonii.

  • I LOVE THIS FREAKING MOVIE! Awwwww. can remember being young and all into it

  • one of my favourite books and movie

  • i read the book!

  • Sooooo Miss Trunchball is the opposite of a pedophile?

  • Sddddddddddddd

  • why is the background music off the nightmare before christmas? but great movie ^_^

  • @TheRossiboy XDDDD that's what i thought too

  • As Matilda is such an avid reader, her ambition is probably to be an author, which is why she is neglected so much,as TV more or less takes over reading.

  • I loved Amanda Thrip. She was soo cute

    Ms Trunchball: 'What are those'?

Amanda Thrip: 'What's what Miss Trunchball'?

Ms Trunchball: 'Hanging by your ears'

Amanda Thrip: 'My mommy thinks there sweet'

Ms Trunchball: 'You Mommy...IS A TWIT'!

I still remember that. Good Movie. Classic Book.

  • *pulls out AK47 and aims at miss trunchbull* come at me bro...

  • i use to love watching this wen i was 4

  • i watched this movie so many times when i was younger. i would always act-out the scene where danny devito faints when he sees that his hair was dyed.

  • Go to the fukin chokie man

  • omg i LOVED this movie when i was lil and i stil ldo this is 1 of my favorite movies of all time me and my cousins used 2 play this and they would always make me be the trunchbull they said i was good at it haha :P

  • wneh i was a little girl, after seeing this movie i was really afraid of Mrs. trunchbull.. so when i wasn't listening to my parents they were always threatning me about agatha coming to dinner ^^

  • This movie had its evil moments. Pretty f'd up. But, yeah, I used to watch this when I was a kid. Good times :)

  • @JohnnyNny94 how

  • Bull shit yanks ruining a good british idea!!

  • I am proud to be from Norway.. I mean, Roald Dahl is from here . And his books are so fantastic..

  • When i was younger and I used to watch this I remember thinking I probably one of the only people who knows about this film- but how wrong was I. Literally all of my friends had the video when they were little.

  • I think it's kind of amazing how Matilda is a bit of a goody-goody,without being too sweet and docile.

  • I love this movie, brings back so many memories of better days.

  • Lol I what to move things with my mind

  • I love how the background music is "What's This?" from Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas xD

  • Why is the English person always the bad guy?

  • She's like a little Carrie. Only less evil and more nice.

  • @RickyMyersBroadcast I agree. Matilda does remind me of Carrie White from the 1976 film Carrie, as they both have telekinetic powers. However, while Carrie became all messed up because of her crazy, fanatically religious mother, Margaret, and eventually went after and killed most of her peers because they bullied her, Matilda is more nice and was never picked on or seen as "weird" or "strange".

    I love this movie! :)

  • was my favorite when I was a kid....

  • Beautiful Fable

Also, my favourite movie of all time.

  • HOW do I NOT remember this movie? O_O

  • I loved this movie! I used to watch it all the time when I was little! Good times^^

  • Remember the chocolate cake? Made with blood and sweat? She made that boy eat it and once he did she smashed the plate over his head? OMG I still remember that scene.lol

  • How and why did they manage to get Danny Elfman's "Whats this" from The Nightmare Before Christmas in this? Did I miss something?

  • @spacemonkeymadness when a film's score hasn't been composed or recorded by the time they're assembling a trailer, they often use music from other films. you'll notice the theme from Hook is also in this trailer. the original trailer for the very first Star Wars film didn't have the Star Wars theme AT ALL, nor did the teaser trailer for the first Superman.

  • @EmSeeSquared Oh ok I guess I never realised that. I need to pay more attention. Just weirded me out.

  • @spacemonkeymadness you've learned something new ;)

  • 1:14 thats right bitch, put it in your mouth!

  • I remeber watching this when I was younger ^^

    btw, im born i 96 :D

  • When I was little, I used to think that Headmistresses like her do exist and I was so scared :((!!! Now, I know that if I ever meet one like this, she will end up to the prison =D I am so happy!!!

  • I was soooooo scared of this movie when i was younger. Took me years to watch it the whole way through.

  • @purpleshamrock17 they banded this book when i went to school. Still read it though, awesome book.

  • @boomercoco1

  • ENTIRE CONFECTION!

  • @Feargface Thankyou Cookie! XD

  • im a 12 year old girl and i ABSOLTELY love this movie!!! it is my childhood movie that i STILL have on VHS!!!! no DVD ON VHS!!!!

    <3 Matilda

  • MATILDA!!! :D

  • boaring

  • @booboolol1231 *boring. boaring???! really?

  • miss honey should be matilda's mom

  • @RATEDRVIPER3 She is Matilda's mom in the end.

  • @Fireworklobster not her real mom

  • I don't actually believe that the principle done the murder. One thing I know is that she isn't smart enough to pull off a simple murder without getting herself caught. Since she leaves fingerprints behind like how she drops food all over the ground. Its far too difficult to make it look a suicide other than a murder for her standards.

  • @NilistLaw True, but this is a woman who was routinely abusing and assaulting children in public, and nothing was ever done about it. So it wouldn't surprise me if she HAD killed Miss Honey's father and gotten away with it. If only because the police in that town seem completely useless and uncaring.

  • @MoreForever888 Regardless, the school thing anyone could get away with and believe me. But murder is completely different, for her standards as I said before. She leaves dirt on her fingers when she eats, like how she would leave marks or any possible weapon that she use to murder. Making it seem like a suicide is far-fetched for her. If she did kill him, it'll look like as if a thug had brutality killed him.

  • @NilistLaw I second the police being useless and uncaring.I always thought this movie presented the adults as horrible beings that you shouldn't trust....Of course, with some exceptions (Ms Honey). But you have a point.

Perhaps Trunchbull in the past used to be more careful and cunning and it was after she got what she wanted she let herself go over the years. There's also that she could have hired someone to do the dirty job...that,or she got a REALLY good lawyer.

  • @Yaenipponcover I don't agree with the first one but the other two very possible. After all, money can entice any criminal and even policemen who are corrupted enough to look the other way. However, in detail not just any police would accept a bribe by random choice from one out of ten chances. If one mistake then she already confessed the crime. The professional lawyer is in fact the only resolve for the case, so it has to be the lawyer who covered her deed.

  • slut

  • wow i loved this movie when i was a kid.. now i look at it and cant stop laughing at how horrible it is..

  • I'm pretty sure that some of the parts in this trailer didn't make it into the actual movie i.e. her saying "Nah, you eat it!" and Miss Trunchbull slipping on the banana skin. Or was that just my video?

  • THIS IS MY CHILDHOOD I HAVE THIS ON VHS STILL

  • and that's how the wizarding world of harry potter began

  • people always say that matilda looks like me. :)

  • This was my favorite movie in the world when I was little which said a lot considering I never liked movies that weren't animated when I was little! And even today I adore it!! Brings back so many memories!! I would always do my morning routine like Matilda did by putting on a floral dress and clip on shoes and a bow in my hair XD! Watching it right now, love this movie to death!!

  • lol "hi dad"
