Plus, it's quite a deterrent for criminals if they think whoever they will rob or attack has a gun. Weapons keep society in order.

What I have heard of just today though is a robber broke into a guys store, but his guard shot a warning shot. Guess what happened, that robber ran like the wind. They prevent crime.
