  • I see your point and I agree.

    Thanks for commenting:)

  • great video girl

  • or you could just relax... your hair

  • no thanks..I prefer the naps to the stringy mess.

  • Youre a ver ygood looking girl. And you seem to have a great personality as well.

  • preach girl, preach

  • Well said and great video and I must say that it would be so nice if all black people felt and thought like you.

  • Thanks.

  • WELL SAID!!! PREACH SISTA!!!!!

  • Hispanic/latino isn't a race some of those people with "nappy" hair actually are black.

  • You said that so perfectly! So glad you're back girl!

  • Thanks:)

  • If you don't get a job b/c of corn rows (particularly if you are a male)....serves you right. That is not professional. Your hair does not grow out your head into corn rows.

    ROCK THE FRO!

  • how is cornrolls not professional, shouldn't we all be able to wear our hair the way we want. how is cornrows or dreads or even cornrolls not professional, its just hair.

  • Hair isn't everything but that is just life. The work place is about doing business right, incorruptly w/ ppl you trust. I wouldn't want my doctor, pastor, or professor to have a rainbow colored mohawk nor would I want them to wear corn rolls.

Its not b/c "its too black"; white ppl do it too. Its b/c it has a urban, thug gangster association to it, and that type of mentality is not desired in the professional world where trust is valued.

  • well I don't really think the "professional" world has a future, it is full of a lot of corruption and I think you can't trust most professionals because their interest is not on humans rights/respect, but money and business. I on the other hand would like a doctor with cornrows, rainbow hair, etc. because I'd find that person more similar to me because I find those hairstyles to be artistic and revolutionary.

  • Its not the reality of how corrupt man is becoming....we've always been corrupted! Nothing is really new and its all been done before. You may not trust a company w/ your life but you do want to know if you can trust them w/ your money.

I don't find anything outdated (corn rolls...still workable...love them) or clownish (rain bow hair...espeacially on a doc or pastor) as revolutionary. I would take those ppl to be jokes not trying to be serious but that is my and most other ppls opinion.

  • Yeah, it is just life, people are making life hard by their own evils/greed. in the professional arena you cannot be yourself, you have to be someone else, its devastating. put on a suit, tie, act a part, its ridiculous. that is why in ways I'm glad, the economy is the way it is, because its not based on common sense, underpay people, overwork them, its evil. but to each its own.

  • If only you knew what was really happening around the world you would wish you lived on a different planet. Saying that you are glad that the economy is the way it is and that hard working Americans are paying the price of government choices; is just like saying that you're glad that the Trashman infected all those women with HIV.....but in the worst degree....didn't they lack common sense? Everyone know about STDs especially HIV and aids.

  • ....As jokes on people who are the professional world....On adults really unless its a around the house or one-two day thing. That stuff was fine when we were younger.

  • well- people allow the people in power to do whatever they want- if people didn't like it wouldn't they try to change it? yes, I do often times wish I lived on another planet, as do numerous people- but this is the planet- we live on. I don't think that analogy of comparing economic problems with AIDS and STDS is relevant- its completely different- suffering from a disease which has no cure- dealing with that physical and physiological pain is in no comparision to struggling due to lack of money

  • I just recently came to the reality of this but nothing was really ours to change. Some where along the way in history we lost our voice and didn't even realize it.

I don't think I went over your head. Apples are not oranges but that they are both fruits. The Apples in your mind are not related to oranges but In my analogy they are related and understandably so.

  • Bomb shelters will be useless, for "Those who are at peace in their hearts already are in the Great Shelter of Life. There is no shelter for evil." Hopi prophecy...biblical prophecies...all come into play these days...the signs of destruction are all around, not life, not peace, equality, or justice.

the whole concept of progress is for it to be positive. but of course it won't be. not in this day and age. its a bad time now, to get married and to have kids given the times.

  • Amen!

  • humanity was meant to end up this way. prophecy tells us so. its scary, sad, and depressing, but its what people allow. I too take responsibility, but I am not the cause of all of it. I try to help when I can and do what I can with the time I have, because I know in the future, things will be much worse. so you help when you can- enjoy your days, enlighten as many as you can, and count down till the final hour.

  • well someone could use the same argument for an afro and say the person is not trying to be serious, because no one else is wearing an afro, most people straighten their hair. right. so the same argument you use for a person being clownish or not professional and serious through wearing cornrolls or a rainbow colored wig, could be used to describe an afro, and many other hairstyles that are not typical, because the majority almost always conforms to the norm- straight hair.

  • When you style your hair its with intent. An afro is the natural high ordered state of a typical black persons hair. A lot of ppl don't understand how beautiful their natural hair really is...& I'm talking to myself on that one, to be real. So yes, unless you don't bother to comb or brush you hair, an afro should be acceptable. No one grows rainbow color hair and no one grows corn rolls. Those things are done with intent.

  • if we didn't comb our hair, it would dread up. we are unnatural too because we comb out our head which can dread and lock up. LOL. in a business firm or corporation sometimes afros can be seen as militant and not professional. we as humans are unnatural, we eat food full of chemicals, breathe air full of chemicals, their is chemicals in our own hygiene products too. none of that is natural. no one wants to be totally natural anyways, our natural state as humans smells, is hairy, wild, etc.

  • "Humanity will end up in a gourds of ashes. Hopi prophecy states that World War III will be started by the people who first received the Light -- China, Palestine, India and Africa".

  • "When the war comes, the United States will be destroyed by 'gourds of ashes' which will fall to the ground, boiling the rivers and burning the earth, where no grass will grow for many years, and causing a disease that no medicine can cure. This can only mean nuclear or atomic bombs; no other weapon causes such effects."

  • you have to have morals for a society to survive, and when you have more bad people then good people, more poor than rich people, a revolution will come about and it won't be peaceful. to say the least- things in life are changing slowly but surely- I don't see any of the technology/invention bringing forth progress. like you said its the same stuff going on, except to me its more evil and more dog eat dog. the Earth is becoming more and more imbalanced, based on these man made evils.

  • I see technology bringing for progress. Man is increasing in knowlege but this progress doesn't have to be positive. I think we are going to end up blowing each other up. The world was so imbalanced in the time of noah that he had to destroy the ppl in it and its going to become imbalanced again and God is going to have to destroy the corrupt people again. Man has always been so evil; I just think that its a shock to us that ppl could be so capable. Its all been done before.

  • omw...

    you done did it.

  • lololololol Stop chauntelr dont do it him. lmao

  • GREAT VIDEO! You couldn't have said it better!!!! 5 STARS! I love to hear open minded blacks who have self love talk like this

  • Thanks:)

  • proud to be nappy, excellent vid. I have seen ppl post ignorant comments about natural hair but i think this is my first time actually seeing a black person passionately discussing their hatred for it, it was very disturbing to watch.

  • we have different meanings of the word nappy. To me, nappy means hair that is not comb or unkept. NOt maintained.

  • Look up the definition of nappy.

it means the same as kinky.

  • No. My daughter is black. I want her to wear her hair natural, NOT NAPPY! I want her to comb and brush her hair before she leaves the house! I want her hair braided LIKE YOURS! before she leaves the house. I want her to look NICE not NAPPY!

  • If you think that nappy hair is attractive, then why do you have your hair braided???? Why not UN-braid your hair and wear it like that?? Why don't you wear you hair UNBRAIDED!!!!!!!

  • "Real"Black1: omg! you really dont get it do you? Nappy does NOT mean your hair is unkept. Nappy has always been intended to be the texture of our hair...nappy, kinky..whatever. To take care of your nappy/natural hair does not mean you dont think its attractive. Its because you appreciate it and want it to be healthy and you are proud of it. Seriously , for someone who seems intelligent are ridiculously stupid on this issue.

  • 100% agree.

  • It is so sad to see self-hatred among black folks... everyone should just love themselves... for people to say that the hair that grown out of their sclp is ugly... that's a very sad thing to hear. What would they do without relaxer or technilogy for a flat iron? Kill themselves? Is it really that damn serious?

  • "wtf moment" definitely describes that video. Its funny people still say crap like that even when our own president wears a nice short cropped afro of "nappy" hair and has two daughters that are both natural?!
