Man it's so much fun to look at this game now after playing Gears 3. I remember seeing it the first time almost 6 years ago at e3 2005 and thinking about how awesome the graphics and the gameplay was;-)) It's amazing how videogames are evolving nowadays
@tomabuivydaite It holds its own well even after 5 years from its release;-) Ok maybe it's not a graphical powerhouse, but the gameplay is Gears, even if it was the first one. When it came out it was considered the killer app that many games aren't still able to match nowadays... Besides, the campaign is short, you will have no problem beating it in less than 8 hours or so;-)

He basically just says that he was told by a friend that he can't play this like he played Resistance, and he discovered that you die pretty quickly without cover. Having said that, he definitely seems to be on casual difficulty, he's hardly using cover at all and he's staying alive quite successfully.

wtf! Halo did not totally botch the single player mode, I thought it was really a great campaign with a very good and engaging story. I was on the edge of my seat for most of the game, and I got chills in certain parts of the level. I was a little disappointed at how short it was, it really wasn't a long game at all, but the story definitely not as bad you said it was.

Halo isn't monotonic at all, it has situations that bounders monotonic, but it never actually gets there, while Gears starts as monotonic, and only digs itself deeper in there.
my favourite game is halo on the pc, i just got gears today on pc and havent played it yet, BUT i have played coop on the xbox and i have to say that gears is not far behind halo =D

I think games should put more emphasis on single-player because there will be more story telling and more complex level design because there they can screw with the environment were as if you screw to much with a multiplayer map people can't play. Good examples would be Dead Space, Fallout 3 and Bioshock. I know in future iterations, the sequels will have multiplayer but I observed that many reviews give a game a lower grade if the MP is standard or ordinary.
Gears is a fantastic game, and Gears 2 is the better graphical game of generation. Forza 3, Mass Effect 2, Splinter Cell Conviction, Alan Wake are coming with incredible graphics. Dont forget Halo ODST that will come with a key Halo Reach Demo(another amazing game). I need a larger pocket...
Gears of War 1 had MUCH better graphics than Gears of War 2... What's up with Marcus' face? Plus, it's not as dark and therefore the textures don't look as smooth as this game...
I think that the story in gears 1 is better than gears 2. The multiplayer in gears 2 is better, but the search engine in gears 1 is better. I wish I still had gears 2.

Perfect story, beat the campaign 6 times, and the online is great fun.
Halo, is for mediocre gamers, but maybe with Reach they finally will put one out that is more enjoyable and dark, & not so cartoony.

I think that the story in gears 1 is better than gears 2. The multiplayer in gears 2 is better, but the search engine in gears 1 is better. I wish I still had gears 2.

i own every console as far a xbox360 ps3 and the wii and by far the 360 has better games/graphics except for killzone 2 thats bullshit how they made that game just for the ps3, but all fair right because xbox has 2 of the best selling games in the world and they are gears1 and gear2.

That isn't true. You're being a fanboy. Neither system really has a game that has graphics that really stand out and make the other system look bad.
Multiplatform games usually look better on the 360 too, there is no denying that.

i'm being the fanboy? hardly. as a matter of fact, fuck graphics. you must be on some biast 360 shit if you even think that the 360 has better graphics. i'll state the facts and say that while you are going to have to start switching discs for later 360 games like final fantasy XIII and rage, the ps3 players won't have to worry about shit. btw, games like oblivion and fallout 3 may not look all that different on both systems but when you compare them the ps3 has more detail than 360.

no i'm not. i believe the 360 and the ps3 are equal and both have their flaws and pluses. xbox being that it has a better selection of games while the ps3, being the better made console that is less likely to fuck up. the 360 isn't shit and the ps3 isn't the best system ever made. don't assume what i am because you don't know jack shit.

what i meant was it's less likely to see ps3 owners talk about their system fucking up than 360 owners. my ps3 actually started to mess up after the first four months when i bought it.

wrong and True But ps3 exclusives looks better than 360 exclusives. And I care more for exclusives than multiplat cause they often lacks in quality.
Killzone 2 is the first Ps3 games that is impossible to do on 360, not counting with surround wich 360 is quite bad at but anything else.
What makes it that way is the very best visuals on consoles, but also the best AI to find in a video game and Animations are just as good. its up with crysis on tech level...

Thing is that Im tired of pc dorks trolling the net claiming consoles have bad visuals, like, Too much blooming and blur, look at jaggies and screentearing, look a frame drop on Cod 4 ps3 at 01:22 and its set at 30 fps, and AAH suck it it all over 30 fps is totaly chill and Pc gamers are just crying over seeing top notch visuals and etc on 3-4 years old hardware cause they spent all their jacksons to run crysis warhead on high. bitches!

well gears 1 was interesting because it was something new and was always doing something new and constantly felt fresh but no.2s campaign is really unvaried and boring and dragged out i mean it should end way before it does and its the only game ive ever felt was to long.
the story is just tacked on and did u actualy care wen dom killed his wife? no because it was handled in a forced crappy way.now i havent played for a month but gears 2 had extremellyy laggy crappy matches.
