Wasnt Abdulla banned in 9 states including most recently Japan? for his very dangerous tackticks. Mr Larry Shreeve is a very dangerous man, and is capable of ending the careers of many wreslters. I would not want to run it to him in a dark alley.

He even had one fight with Harley Race -- that spilled out of the ring -- out of the stadium and into the street - stopping traffic for 15 minutes!! As a tribute to Japans love for "Abdullah The Butcher" -- the Japanese Parliament actually passed a law that Harley and "Abbey" could not come within 25 meters of each other, while in Japan!!!!! How cool is that?!?!?!?!
In the late 1960's Abdullah helped start WTBS in Atlanta with the VERY popular "Friday Night Fights" His signature move was to dig his thumb into his opponents throat. The referee would ask if he used his thumb (that was illegal) -- he would scream "No thumb!" but when he wound up to do it again -- he made sure EVERYBODY (but the refereed) saw his "Thumbs up" and rammed the throat again!!! Lord help me, I loved it so -- until I did it on my 6 year old brother and damn near choked him to death!!!
When I was a kid, he was on TV Friday at 7:30PM or you could attend the match at the Atlanta Civic Center. We called him "ABA-DOOL" - he would never speak - his manager had him in some sort of trance!!! But his manager would shout something (supposedly Arabic for KILL!) and AB-A-DOOL would go after whoever was in the "squared circle" (as Gordon Soley -- called it)!! Oh, what I wouldn't give to be 12 years old and really frightened by Abdullah The Butcher -- just 1 more time!!

abdullah the butcher can still give fans a great wrestling match for a guy who is almost 70. abdullah has got some great skills for being such a big guy
abdullah has got very droopy man-boobs he usually hides his trademark fork under his man-boobs. i am going to have to go to "Abdullah the Butcher's House of Ribs" and try the food there
I remember Abdullah as far back as a quarter-century ago, in the AWA, wrestling as one of Sheikh Adnan Al-Kassie's henchmen (along with the late great Frank Goodish, aka "Bruiser Brody.") I remember a classic match where Abdullah and company did a number on the late legendary Jerry "Crusher" Blackwell when they abandoned him out of their group at the time. I'm amazed Abdullah is still alive at his size. Most of the other 400-plus-pound wrestlers met untimely deaths.
Abdullah The Butcher plus independent wrestling federations equals a good, bloody time for all! Abdullah's like Terry Funk, in that he can wrestle anyone and have a good match. I've never heard of Jacob Ladder (although he slightly resembles D Lo Brown in stature) or the SWWF, but a good match nonetheless.
